I seem to have many old PowerPC apps on my iMac that (since Lion) have become useless and just taking space. Is there a quick way to locate and delete these obsolete apps?

The startup disk on my black plastic MacBook is getting full. I know there is plenty of junk to delete but I don't know how to get an overview of where the junk is so that I can delete chunks of unneccessary data instead of chipping away at my photo library, etc.

I use an iMac and recently upgraded to Lion OS. Everything was working fine, including Mail.
But the Hard Disk developed some hardware defect and I was forced to replace the hard disk with a new one. The service center added the new harddisk with OS 10.6.8 and now when I connect the old hard disk using USB connection (which is running 10.7) I am unable to find the Mail and Mail downloads folder in the library folder...
Is it because my machine is running on 10.6.8 and the hard disk is having 10.7?
Yes, it finds things, BUT doesn't tell me WHERE on my computer I can find it.
Yes it opens a folder etc, BUY WHERE IS THAT FOLDER? I've wasted more time looking for "the folder" it found than I care to mention.

so first off, sorry for the potential repost. I couldn't find the answer on the forum so I am starting a new thread.
Let's say I have a 50gb music library. I want to put all 50gb on the external, and keep about 30gb on my iBook.
That part was easy enough, however I am running into problems keeping everything in my library located.
Everytime I disconnect and then reconnect the external, anything that's not on my iBook can't be located.
I want to make it so that when the external is not connected, my entire library (EXT and INT) is shown[obviously, I won't be able to play anything that resides on the EXT], and when I connect the EXT, I want it to locate the files that are external only.
I also want iTunes to keep my folders organized, there, that's the kicker.
I went to the library to locate mail so I could insert an HTML signature. Problem is, I can't find Mail anywhere. It is not in the library, not in Cache, etc. When I attempt to search for Mail in the finder, before I can select Library as the search location, the finder shuts and pops me into another application.Where is mail? I can use it. It is in my apps folder, etc., but I cannot find it other than in that location. Can't get in to add a signature, etc.

I'm using the Safari Beta but cannot locate a way to make links appear in a new tab rather than a new window. In the prefs it has the ability to place links from other Apps into a new tab, but it appears the only way to do that within Safari is by CMD + click. Is there anyway to make anything clicked open in a new tab instead?

How do I get the "locate" command to index (and hence be able to find) all files that are in my user folder (~/) and its subfolders? My Applications were in an Applications Folder on my HD folder so I decided to move them to what I think is the correct place to have them the Applications Folder that is in my Home Folder.I tried to move it but it wouldnt move directly so I copied it to the Desktop and from the Desktop moved it into the Home Folder Applications Folder. So far so good.I then wanted to delet the original Applications from the HD folder.I can't delete it so now I have duplicate Application Folders and duplicate Applications.how I might delete the origial folder?I'm running Lion 10.7.3.

Have just installed 10.7.4. Now, I finally have to hose PPC (and even some hangover Classic) applications. I know, I know, I should have done it earlier, before even Snow Leopard. For me, the easiest place to ID them is in ABOUT THIS MAC ➜ MORE INFO ➜ SYSTEM REPORT ➜ SOFTWARE ➜ APPLICATIONS ➜ which in the sub categories of CLASSIC and PPC are rosters of > 250 items. How to trash them from this window? Or elsewhere? I’ve tried click-and-drag (both singly and by batch) delete (both singly and by batch), all unsuccessfully.

I was browsing through my system preferences and saw something unusual. Under my sound menu, there was not only my Internal Speakers - Built in Output, but there is also an "XYAggregateAudio406." I don't know what it is, but i suppose there is a driver somewhere for it that i should remove somehow to get it off? Any ideas? Photo attached.

Unfortunately the files which I had stored in the usb stick prior to this seem to have disappeared. How can I locate these files? The usb now doesnt mount on the desk top and is only accessible through disk utility.

Well, just went there and nothing is listed inside the iTunes folder.
Is there some sort of protection in place preventing me from accessing all my stored MP3s and playlists?
So i finished my first ten-minute long short film, i'm really proud of it. I wanted to share the whole thing in 1080p HD and then import it into after effects for some finishing touches. I did sharing < media sharing < 1080p hd.
1. Where did my movie go? it doesn't show up in iMovie anymore, and I found a big file over 1GB which appears to be my movie (but no way is it in 1080p, and I filmed with a sony HDR xr520v). I cant put that back into iMovie nor after effects.
2. Can I import this file into after effects cs4 and then re-export it in an equal quality?

Whenever I delete an email using iMail, it doesn't delete from my gmail account when I would just use the regular browser to check my mail. Is there a way to delete emails both off of iMail AND from Gmail so it does not appear when using a browser to check my mail or on another computer?

I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. By a suprise where i left my ipod, they took out everything that was covering the ipod and just left my pink headphones. I have just bought a new MacBook Pro 13 (with Intel CPU), and I'm trying to set up my MBox 2, which came with Pro Tools 8 LE (m-powered).I'm getting the error message: "Unable to locate Digidesign hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. Click "Ok" when the hardware is ready."The USB socket's light on the MBox 2 does not light up, although the other lights are on as normal.I know this is a widely-encountered issue, and I think it is because this software is not compatible with OS X Lion but I have tried several things so far to isolate the problem:1) Have connected the MBox 2 to my Dell Window 7 laptop using the SAME USB cable and it works perfectly (suggesting the USB cable is okay and the USB socket on the MBox 2 is okay).2) Have tried installing the software and drivers from the Installation CD which came with the MBox 2 onto my MacBook three times, in case there was a problem with the installation. This is the same Installation CD I used to install them onto my Dell laptop which did work using the MBox and Pro Tools 8 LE setup (which suggests that the problem is either with the contents of the CD not being compatible or up to date for the MacBook Pro 13 / OS X Lion 10.7.03, or that there is another problem I need to address with one of these three devices/components)3) I have installed the later drivers for Pro Tools 9 (I believe it was for 9.0.6), although I don’t own the Pro Tools 9 software, so this is a newer driver being applied to my Pro Tools 8 LE software. After I did this, the MBox 2’s USB light DID come on!But… when I then tried to open Pro Tools 8 LE, I got an error: “CRITICAL ERROR - PRO TOOLS NEED TO BE REINITIALIZED” Then when I rebooted, each time I opened Pro Tools it said: "Pro Tools LE 8 has shut down unexpectedly. Please retry…”Could someone tell me if my set up is compatible please? Can a MacBook Pro 13 running OS X Lion 10.07.03 ever operate with a MBox 2 and Pro Tools LE 8?If so, what do I need to do in order to resolve this - is it simply that I need to power on the devices in a specific order?

I've uninstalled appdelete as I now use cleanapp. Anyway, I have uninstalled it but the contextual menu is still present. I have tried looking at the services and libraries but cannot locate the specific item needed to be deleted to remove the appdelete contextual menu item.
