Pica won't take my password.I can navigate to the pico prompt in terminal ... but when it asks for pw, I try to type, the cursor just blinks, doesn't move, nothing. Looking to help a customer with his os x lion mail server setup. On some occasions they want to be able to recieve .exe or zipped .exe files. The current solution is letting the sender zip the files password encrypted and change the extension name. As far as I can see in server manager we have 3 options for virus filtering. bouncing and deleting aren't option of course. When redirecting to the admin emailaddress you get an automated message probably derived from etc/mail/amavisd/languages/en.lproj The bounced messages are contained in var/virusmails, I can only get in that folder as root. I can see the message using nano, but how would I extract the attachments ? we would change the behavior of the virus filtering. There are some settings in clamd.conf and amavisd
clamd.conf has interesting items such as ScanPE, ScanELF, ScanMail, ArchiveBlockEncrypted.amavisd.conf has a block 'Commonly Adjusted Settings' with bypass_virus_checks_maps = (int) and more interessting settings. I 've been playing around with these and settings in server manager. I've been changing one value at a time and rebooting the server or restarting the corresponding service in between. For some strange reason the mail server behavior doesn't change at all and keeps sending the admin a standard mail with a reference to it's name in the /var/virusmail folder.

Or get launchd to stop trying to load it. I noticed that when I "iotop -C", launchd seens to be in a permanent loop starting apache as the httpd pid is always being incremented by 1. I can't run apache on in terminal or on via clicking web sharing.

I am trying to get Subversion (versioning software) installed here at work and in my research I've found it's more secure to utilize Apache2 in conjunction with Subversion. With 1.3 being default on OS X Server I used [URL] Apache2 complete package to install Apache2. The install went great and I am able to view an index.html page put in the /Library/htdocs directory or wherever that is. But I was told for our configuration of sites, we need to use Server Admin. Is there a means to user Server Admin with Apache2?

After finishing the test, I looked in activity monitor and there are 2 processes: httpd(root) and http(_www). They are taking up about 2.6 GB of virtual ram each, and almost all of my physical memory is being used. Also, under the "kind" column, it lists them as Intel (64-Bit). What are these and why will they not disappear when I try to force-quit them?

If I have a "group" in Address book, how do I edit "which" email is the address to use for each user in that group? Back in Snow Leopard, there was a discussion article that said iCloud broke the ability to edit a distribution list, but that it would likely be fixed in Lion. how to do this in Lion? I'm trying to edit permissions on a folder via the Server App, and having some trouble. I can access all of the other folders on the shared volume and edit them just fine, but on one folder the OK button is always grayed out. Here's what I'm doing: In Server App, selecting the server under StorageChoosing the drive I want to editSelecting the folder I wantUnder the gear, choosing Edit Permissions.It shows me the list of users just fine and I can see that there's a problem, but no matter what changes I make it won't let me click OK. It also won't let me click + to add a new user.This works fine on all of the other folders on this same drive. Should I just reset all of the ACLs for that folder in the Terminal and try again?

I'm using Text Edit in plain text format as a html editor. I get an error when I try and edit using Transmit, when I try to save, Transmit says: The documents "doc-name.php" could not be saved. Text encoding Western (ISO Latin 1) isn't applicable. If possible, select a different text encoding. I cut/paste from text edit into the Transmit file and it doesn't work.

Since I upgraded to Lion and moved to iCloud, I have not been able to edit the photos in my address book. I saw and tried lots of solutions in the discussions about this re: Snow Leopard, and none of those solutions worked - especially the solutions that involve going into [main hard drive]> Application Support>Address Book and so forth. I have been working on a project in iMovie for a few days, and it has been working perfectly. Today, I opened up my project and I could not play the project (the red line would move, but no picture would show up in the upper right hand corner box) and ALL of the options in the "share" tab were gray and unable to click them. Many options in the "edit" and "file" tabs were unable to be clicked as well.
Another project i completed months ago is working perfectly. The clips in the events play/show up on the window in the upper right hand corner
If I open a Contact in Addres Book and click on "Home" r "Mobile", or "Work", or whatevere, a small context menu pops up, offering me several choices: "Show in Large Type", "Face Time", etc.
I recently experimented with a dialing program which I have since uninstalled, but it remains in this Context Menu. How can I edit it out?

I am trying to edit Haskell files with Text Edit. However when I save the file it automatically adds .txt or .rtf and won't let me use .txt. Even when I go into finder and change the file extension it immediately changes it back to .rtf or .txt. It works when I save perl files. How do I get Text Edit to save Haskell files?
