I updated the HP drivers for my printer scanner the other night and since them my scanner quality has dramtically reduced. I want to use my Time Machine backup to go back to my old HP drivers but I have no idea how I would do this.

We are trying to install/update to the NVIDIA 270.00.00f06 driver for the PNY Quadro FX4800 for Mac on our MacPro 3,1 with OSX 10.7.4. The system tells us "No Driver Update Needed for this System", and will not allow driver to be installed. Can anyone advise if the current driver is automatically installed or provided by Apple Updates. If not can you provide proper instructions on how to properly update the driver. Also how can we confirm what driver version is currently installed.

Now I am working our of the LAN, and every time request software update, show me a message saying "Cannot find nnnn.server.com", and can't make upgrades from apple's server. It is odd: pre update (the latest) I could download to my literal desktop, or drag and drop a photo from iPhoto, an mp3 to mail later from iTunes.....Now I can only do that from within the finder in the "desktop" window. In other words: If I download (I prefer to download onto my desktop rather than the download folder-window. I want to have control over ny desktop again (rather than the folder-window entitled "desktop".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a G5 Tower with 10.3 on it right now. I have 10.5.8 and I put in the DVD DL to install. But the primary disk drive on this computer doesn't read dual layer. So we got a dual layer driver to connect through usb. But the problem is that after we click install and it reboots it goes to the default driver... which doesn't work. So I was wondering if it was possible to change the default driver?? Or how can I get this to work?

I use an old HP Laserjet 3200 that I've owned since they first came out. It has worked wonderfully for years and years. The first time I had to print something on my MacBook Pro, I was surprised that it was effortless. The printer was automatically recognized and my print job went without a hitch. The next time I used Software Update I got a driver update for the HP Laserjet 3200. I thought, wow, these guys are really on the ball.
I just used the printer one time and they already know I need the updated driver. But the new driver's screwed everything up and instead of getting the perfect print job I got before, the printer just starts throwing out blank pages. Is there any way to un-install this one software update of this one driver? It arrived by itself, nothing else with it, and it's in my list of updates specifically referencing the HP Laserjet 3200.

I have an 8 Core Mac Pro with the NVIDIA GeoForce 7300GT video card and I was wondering if I should update the driver? I am running Vista Business 64bit through bootcamp. When you go to nvidia site there is no driver update for mac os but there is for vista 64bit. But I am afraid that if I update the driver for vista it might mess it up when I am in Leoapard?

I had a Dell 1100 laser printer working on my iMac (G4 ball type) using a GIMP printer. I had to reset the queue and lost the driver. I can't remember which GIMP driver I used. Also, although I have loaded the latest GIMP s/w, I can't seem to get to them in Tiger 10.4.6.

I have put the wrong driver on my IMac running OSX 10.7.3 and need to go to an older driver. I've tried to find out where the drivers are but no sucess. There is a driver for XBox 360 game controllers that I loaded and it appears in System Preferences but controller hardware is not recognized by the driver even though the System profiler see's the XBox 360 controller listed under USB devices. I'm trying to remove the current driver and load an older driver which some people say works. I can't find any system file with the name XBox 360 in it on my computer but when I try to install an older version of the driver it doesn't allow me because it says I have a newer version on my drive. So in general, how do you remove non functioning drivers?

Months ago I downloaded and installed the Lion compatible drivers required that worked fine. Yesterday (with no reason, no changes, nothing at all: just working) the printer started to refuse to print as it asked for a different paper format: A4 or Letter. Despite many attempts to specifically send print jobs in A4, which is the paper format loaded in the tray, the printer continued to refuse all prints.Today I ended up removing the printer from the list, as it became unnecessary, and I also liked to uninstall the printer driver as well, since Canon released a newer version.Currently, when trying to reinstall the printer, 2 drivers are displayed: UK and US. This lets me assume that those 2 drivers are still installed in my system: I wanted to remove both of them and start from scratch by reinstall the driver and he printer as the system was new. How can I remove the driver, so that Lion won't recognize it and that I could make a clean install of the previous working printer?

Just out of the blue, I can't print using my epson 600, a multi use printer that I have set up on my network.
The strange thing is my scaning driver is there and working, but my wireless printer is not there. I can see my Epson Printer, but its not the wireless driver, its the older driver for using the cable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Time Capsule for my Mac, and now I am able to hook up a Canon laser printer directly to it. My Mac recognizes the printer connected to the Time Capsule, but keeps aksing me to "Choose a Driver or Printer Model" when I am setting it up. I have downloaded the Canon print driver from the Canon website and I can find the Canon folder on my hard drive. However, it seems that I can't fine the actual driver.

I have an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo scanner. It is a fine scanner that has served me well for many years through many different operating systems, Windows as well as Mac OS X. The scanner software is no longer supported by Epson for OS X Lion. The only way I can now san is by using the drivers that are built into the OS. I can access the scanner either through System Preferences/Print & Scan, or use Image Capture. Unfortunately, all the scans are of an extremely poor quality. I can no longer scan fibrant colors or stong blacks, the entire scan is now murky and all colors as well as the blacks and greys are faded.Â

My preview app does not open, and a few days later, Lion stopped detecting my sound driver.
I have logged in as a guest user, and i have the same problem. My hard drive has been partitioned, and it recognizes the sound driver in windows, and when starting up, the sound driver works. Additionally, i tried to do a hardware check, and that fails to load as well ( i tried both with and without the disc that's supposed to contain the application ) Â

I just did the newest security Apple OS X update and after rebooting the default Apple wallpaper was back on the desktop. I tried to change it but nothing will override the Apple wallpaper.
If I go to the Desktop settings, it shows the image of the wallpaper I have selected but its not shown on the desktop. How can I correct this?
