Feb 21, 2012I wanted to delete a file in my dekstop, but i can't delete it.. It pops out a message like this "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8072)."I have used "rm -rf" this kind of sudo, but it doesn't help. I can't even rename it also.

Mar 21, 2009I took the advice of people online and created a sparse image file as a way of password protecting folders on my hard drive. Worked well for a while. These days, when I try to add or delete files from that sparse image, I get error 61 code. Why can't I write/delete from that mounted image anymore?

This time I get an error message (error code 8003) and am not allowed to move the files back onto the drive or out of the trash, even after changing the permissions. I've searched the support forum for error code 8003, but find nothing that relates to back up files.

Feb 14, 2012I was trying to back-up the HD Library file and it would not perform an update. I kept getting an error message for each item in the folder could not be updated. So, I took the HD versio of Library and put it in the TRASH, then tried again to back-up this version of Library. The same error messages occurred. I then put that error message screen into the trash, but it would not TRASH. A 'Copy' screen pops up with the following messge: "The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred [error code -8062]."

May 17, 2012I created a file yesterday and when I tried to open it today, it was somehow renamed to "Word Work File L_1.tmp". I tried to open it but i got an error message saying "The application Microsoft Word can't be opened- 108" and so i tried deleting it but i got an error " The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found.
(Error code -43)" ARGHh! I can't even rename it or anything! its just there and i cant even remove it.
So I copied and pasted a new one and renamed it (yes i could somehow copy and paste) and that one can open, rename and close, so its normal. I havnt tried restarting my macbook because i have another app opened and i would possibly like to not restart or anything at the moment.

Apr 21, 2012I am getting this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when I try to transfer files from my Mac Mini to my External Harddrive which is connected to my Airport Extreme. " The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.

It ask me for my password that I type, and it says command not found.And then if I type sudo rm-f again, it tells me again that the command is not found.It was like a second ago, and not anymore?Does anyone have an idea on how to get rid of that file?

Dec 5, 2010I backed up all my data onto a couple of DVDs before formatting and upgrading my ststem but now, when trying to copy this data back I am getting the error message. The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "filenamehere" can't be read or written. (Error code -36). I have looked for ages to try and find a solution for this, but there does not seem to be one when copying from a DVD.
