I'm having trouble opening Panasonic GH2 raw (.rw2) files after 10.7.4 update. I cannot view them in quick view or open them in Preview.I verfied on a another Mac running 10.7.3 - works fine; and then immediately after 10.7.4 update it does not work.

Jpegs and other media files that I could open on my MBA now give me error messages when I try to open them. I have Flip4Mac, VLC, and Perian installed, and I had no problems opening these files prior to the latest OS update.I'm a relatively new Mac user. I tried to update the overdrive media app from my library. it downloaded a dmg file into my download folder. I could not open this file. I tried changing gatekeeper preferences, rightclicking the file and and opening it from that dialogue box, but all that happens is it starts to open and then nothing. No dialogue box, or message of any kind. this has happened with other app updates downloaded from outside the app store.Â

I updated the software on my MacBook Pro this morning and I need to update the same files on my iMac and would prefer to copy the files from the MacBook to the iMac but I don't know where they are located, if anywhere ....Â
Yes, I could d/l them again on the other machine but I live out in the middle of nowhere and have satellite internet service, which if you aren't familiar, satellite internet is marginally better than dialup - at least compared to "city" internet options. The other issue, besides speed, is data allotment, I only get 475 mbytes in a 24 hour period with an exception from between 2:00 AM and 7:00 AM - during that time there isn't a bandwidth restriction. So, I can get up at 2:00 AM and start the d/l and go back to bed but I'd rather just copy them from one computer to the other, if that is possible.Â

For some reason, whenever I try to open a file in preview (pdf, jpg, whatever), it says I don't have permission to view it. However, I am the owner of all these files (and I can open the files fine in other applications). Here is the screenshot of the error message:

Suddenly my iMac won't open most .PDF files - specifically those that are imbedded in the body of emails or may be identified by a hotlink on websites. But if one is simply attached to an email, that seems to open? I'm usuing a new mac mini with lion server as a file sharing server (smb) with multiple machines with both W7 and XP. My problem is accessing SolidWorks files from the PC. I can drag the files to the desktop and then they will open but if I try to open them from SolidWorks it doesn't work. It looks like other are having this problem with SolidWorks and office. It also looks like in the last update (10.7.3) they might have fixed the issues with office but I can't find anything about SolidWorks issues being solved. I didn't have this problem before when I was using an older mini server with snow leopard but ever since I have made the switch to a new machine with lion server I've had this problem.

I created my website using iWeb, and use iWeb SEO Tool (3rd party software) to upload onto the internet so that my website can be found on the net. Â But since upgrading to Lion OSX I can't open my iWeb file in iWeb SEOÂ - my Library file has been moved and my iWeb file has disappeared!! I have since found the iWeb file through Finder (by using Go to ~/Library/) but still cannot find it using iWeb SEO so can't upload changes to my website.Â

I hand-create PostScript files, which are tested by being dragged to Adobe Distiller. This application is unhappy if the same-name PDF is busy. And if not busy, the same-name PDF is happily over-written. So far, so good. Until recently, whilst Preview had a PDF open, it could not be overwritten - somehow marked as busy, I guess. If closed, if could. But within the last two weeks this behaviour has changed. Preview 5.5.2 (719.25), under Lion, keeps them 'busy' even after the file is closed or Preview is quit. It fails to unmark as 'busy'. So I have to drag the PDF to the trash before Adobe Distiller will 'overwrite'.
