OS X V10.7 Lion :: Can't Take Screenshot On Long Webpage
Jun 27, 2012
I often need to make a screenshot of a long HTML page, for ex I get a HTML gmail and want to copy that into WOrd
How would you do this ? I tried with Grab and with Preview builit in ScreenShot but I cant take more than the screen. The Selection does not go beyond the screen
anyone know if it's possible to take a screenshot–whether of the entire screen or of just a selected area–and have it immediately open in photoshop?Â
if this doesn't exist, wouldn't it be great if apple created it?Â
I would like to know if I'm legally allowed to use a screenshot of my iCal week view as the logo of my company/website. Although just starting, I intend my website to become popular, and would like not to have any legal issues with Apple on that matter.
I want to change screenshot location from my Solid State hard drive with OSX on it, to my 2nd storage hard drive, how do I do this? I am aware of "defaults write com.apple.screencapture *location*" but I want to change the location to my 2nd drive which doesn't have OSX on it, every time I've tried to insert MacintoshHD2 in there it just doesn't work?
Newly installed osx lion 10.7.4the guest user on the login screen disappeared after fresh installation of osx, and an option "Disable restarting to Safari when screen is locked" on "security & privacy" on preferences panel disappeared as well, its so strange!Â

IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS A WEB PAGE COULD BE PUT DIRECTLY ON TO A MAIL PAGE BY CLICKING COMMAND WITH THE "I" KEY . NOW IT CAN'T BE DONE WITH LION. ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO HOW TO DO THIS WITHOUT PUTTING THE LINK IN THE MAIL?
I just bought the latest MacBook Pro with Lion 10.7.3 in Australia last month. I use firefox but am having trouble reading as the total screen isn't being utilised I use [URL] as a home page but it does not fill the screen and it hard to read. I was just in the Apple store and an employee there said she was having the same issue..
The Control 2 finger gesture makes it bigger but doesn't get rid of what look like large margins. I have tried the pinch gesture but maybe I am not using the correct technique as nothing happens...Â
I tried adding a screen shot by dragging a dropping but that didn't work Finally, I don't know which forum is best: Lion or MacBook Pro...Â
I'm running a server, where I share my calendar. This works fine so far, unfortunately only on apple devices, Android is not working, but I'm working on that. Now I was wondering if there is a way, to share my cal also as webpage. So users can see and edit the calendar. Is there a way to do so?
I noticed the apple web page icon to be missing from the dock. You can still use the mouse and click on it with positive results. However, it is disconcerting to have the icon go missing with an OS update.

I realized that the reason I couldn't get iCloud up and running on my MacBook Pro is because I hadn't upgraded to OS X Lion. So I purchased the new version in the App Store and started the download. By the next morning it was still downloading. And when I got home from work today, still downloading.Â
How do I know if Time Machine is backing up and how long it will take. There is no message telling me it is, only spinning arrows by the hard drive. Last time I did it, it told me how long it will take and how many files it had to download.Â
The only old discussion from 2007 suggests up to 30 minutes. It seems strange that it would take so long. Has anyone tried this more recently on a PowerMac G5 using Mac OS X 10.7?
Typically, a short sleep does not affect the apps I have running. So if I step away from the machine and it goes to sleep, when I wake the machine in a half-hour or so, the various app windows are still there and I can keep working. I use Mission Control to keep three desktops: one for Mail, one for Safari and one for general use. When the machine goes to sleep at night, Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner do their backups (around 3:00 am). Then when I wake the machine in the morning, there are no running apps. Mail and Safari seem to have quit and those Mission Control desktops are empty. how I can keep those apps running?
First off, apologies if this has been addressed in a previous post; went through a few pages and saw nothing that helped. I have been having problems with my i5 Thunderbolt 11" MacBook Air - running Lion 10.7.3 - reconnecting to my home network, which is listed as a Prefered Network, after being in sleep mode; especially after a long sleep, say overnight. Â
I know it's not my network because my 2.8 Core 2 Duo 15" MBP - running 10.6.8 - never has a problems reconnecting. I see other posts refering to a WiFi Update for other machines, but not the Air. And this was purchased with Lion, so while a re-install might solve the issue - again something I saw suggested - I would rather avoid the hassle. Â
I've checked with the "Apple people" at Best Buy - the closest thing I have to an Apple Store here in South Texas - and they say the recent update should have fixed the problem. Â Â [URL]..
My Time Capsule backups are taking too long. Time Machine says it is indexing. However, I have had my Time Machine configured since I installed Lion last year and it has been making automatic backups every hour since. Why is it 'indexing' now, and why is it taking so long?
My computer crashed last night. When I started it back up, the permissions on one of my internal drives in my Mac Pro that I store data on had changed. This caused some problems when trying to open applications with files stored on that volume (i.e. my Adobe Lightroom catalog). I fixed these issues, and then restarted my Mac. When I did, I saw this:Â
I've since restarted my computer a few times, and it's doing this every time.Â

I don't have a screenshot, but i noticed that iTunes-Helper is running in 64-bit mode. Does this possibly indicate that future iTunes versions will be 64-bit?
I did a software update on my son's iMac and it is taking very long to complete. He had six programs to update. The blue bar is about 1mm from completion but has stayed that way for about an hour. What should I do to get his computer working again?
I just updated now to MAC OX X Lion to 10.7.4 on my 2011 MB AIR. I noticed upon restart or shutdown, it takes around 15 seconds now. Before the update, it just takes less than 2 seconds to restart/shutdown.
I am new to Macs. I recently setup a router (D-Link 655) and attached my Lexmark E260dn printer to it using a static IP address 192.168.0.100. I added a printer to my MBP but when I print something it seems to take an unusually long time to find the printer. The printer dialog says "looking for printer" until it actually starts to print. I added the same printere to my aging Windows XP system using the install CD and it works as you would expect. Files begin printing immediately. What might I be doing wrong from the MBP?

I chose to delete a new user account that came over as part of a migration from my old MBP to a new MBP. It was a firly large account but it is taking way longer than the time it took to migrate over. There is no progress bar or time estimate so it's hard to know what's going on.Â
