Jul 22, 2009I clicked the battery icon at the top of the screen and what I seen is below. I'm extremely impressed with this new machine. Sold my old 15" Late 2008 Unibody few weeks ago on eBay as I wanted to downsize for portability.
Update: Obviously this was an estimated time and it was given when I used the computer on the battery for the first time upon receiving it. I assumed people wouldn't actually think I was getting 10 hours whilst using applications on it. You would probably get that amount of time by doing nothing on it. I just thought I would share it as it's the first time I've had it on any MacBook Pro and I've owned every generation of them.

Applications :: AppleCare Not Available - Take Screenshot?
Feb 16, 2009I don't know how to take a screenshot, or I would. I just tried to register my AppleCare (which I bought from the Apple Store the same day I bought my MacBook) and when I click "submit" I get a message telling me the product I'm trying to use is unavailable in my location (which I know for a fact isn't the case - I live in NC, not on Mars). Has anyone else ever seen this happen? I printed the screen to a PDF so when I go to the Apple Store tomorrow they don't think I'm nuts. I know there's no problem with what I bought, and I know I'll get it taken care of in the morning, but it's a bit annoying and I was curious to see if others had had this happen. Also - hope I posted this in the right thread, or at least something close to correct.

Feb 26, 2010I've gotten into a bad habit of saving everything to the to the desktop for easy access and now I'm having screenshot overload !
i) when taking a screenshot is it possible to override the auto naming function i.e. open the shot to then save as? or
ii) is it possible to take a screenshot and auto-save it into a specific folder, rather than the desktop, even a single desktop folder would help me?
The desktop is a total mess and I've a 50 or so screenshots mixed in with everything else - each screenshot just seems to look for the next available space on the desktop !!!

So I wanted to get started on Hawaii-Five-0 when I discovered that the Mac does not let me take screenshots of the dvd player. I've tried several other ways (VCL and SnapNDrag) to counter this lack of cooperation, but neither worked and maybe tell me why on earth Apple won't let me take screenshots of DVDs I've bought perfectly legally at a local store???).

Dec 12, 2010I work from home two days a week and work my ass off for my boss! However, she seems to think I do nothing, mostly because she doesn't understand how many times you replan a financial model before you get it right and how long this takes!
Anyway, I thought if I was able to take a screenshot of my screen every 5 seconds and a shot of myself (through my webcam on my MacBook Pro), then put it into a video, she would be able to see exactly what i do and it would stop her complaining!

Mar 13, 2012Just got a MacBook Air, running 10.7.3 and noticing that on many web sites (firefox and safari are the same), the images just are not clear. They are a bit fuzzy, and some have some sort of weird border around them. I have attached a screen shot of the amazon home page. Notice the weird gray area around the letters and images? Is there a setting or something that can make this better?
