OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail : Activity Sidebar Always Blank?

Jun 18, 2012

I have a problem with Lion Mail not showing any network activity at the bottom of the left sidebar. It always stays blank like there is nothing going on. But the Activity Window (alt+cmd+0) shows all the activity going on just like it should. I would like to keep the Activity window closed and only use the sidebar to get visual feedback of what's going on.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: List Of What X-Spam Headers Apple Mail Will Look At / When Determining Junk Mail Status?

Apr 25, 2012

Apple Mail has a preference to 'Trust junk mail headers in messages' but I can not find a list of what those headers are.By trial and error I've learned the "X-Spam-Flag: YES" will work (exactly that, no extra info), but I'd like to know what other options there are... particularly if I can send a score/rating back and have it look at that. But I can't find a list of supported headers. The Internet is full of "common spam headers" and yet none of them actually seem to work and lots of people who can't get it working with spamassassin which is incredibly common.

OS X Yosemite :: Folders Disappeared From Sidebar

Dec 11, 2014

Folders disappeared from sidebar. I found them in the trash under recovered folders. Those files coincidentally are all my work documents. Not only all my work but also microsoft related such as pdfs, pptx, etc. 'Put back' not an option since files are in different formats. I am unable to open any. These are not just temp unimportant files, I must find a way to restore all contents unharmed. I have 4 recovered folders in the trash. I need to see my files as they were 12h ago.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Unable To Create Folders Under POP Mail Account In Mac Mail?

Mar 17, 2012

I'm migrating the admin side of my life to my iMac. I am using Mac mail for my mai, this includes a Gmail IMAP account and a POP3 account for my meandering ISP. The IMAP one loads up fine with the IMAP folders there under a sub set of folders for the account. But the POP3 account won't let me create folders within it nor does it have a subset like the Geekwolf one you see below. What do I need to do to get it to have folders, I need to be able to sort incoming mail, but at the moment, I can't.My ISP does have an IMAP setting, but I don't want to have the mail sat about on a server.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Set Up A Mailing List In Mail?

Jul 1, 2012

I take the minutes for a local operatic society.  At these meetings there are usually 6 or 7 people present.  I have their email addresses stored in my address book, but how do I set up a mailing list which contains all members names and email addresses so I can send just one email which will reach all of them?  I am sure this is an easy thing to do, but I just can't seem to fathom out how to do it.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Previous Recipients List In Mail

Jun 10, 2012

We have had a software problem with my wife's mac. I set her up as a user on my iMac, then we wiped her machine and reconstructed. Here is the problem. On her laptop now, there are no previous recipients in Mail. As it turns out, she really needs these. They are on the iMac. I need to move that list from the iMac to her laptop.

I have looked in Library/application support, but can find no entry for Mail or Address book. I know that there must be a file somewhere with this data.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: How To Show From Field (Sender) In Mail Message List

May 20, 2012

I've recently migrated to Lion and am finding the new layout of Mail frustrating as it shows my mail by the recipient rather than the sender. As the recipient is usually me, I have what appears to be a inbox of emails to myself but I have to open each email (or preview it) to reveal who actually sent it to me. Is there a way to have the sender (From field) showing in the list rather than the To field?

I need to have them sorted by Date so that the most recent messages are at the top. But when I choose View > Message Attributes the option to select "From" is already ticked but it is also greyed out.I have temporarily fixed this by using the classic view but I would really like to know how to do this in the new view?

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mac Mail - Can't Restore 'On My Mac' Folders

Jun 5, 2012

I could not find any direct reference to my question - believe me I searched everywhere before coming here.

Some details:

- OS X 10.7.4
- Mail 5.2 (1278)

Prior to my intervention, Mail was not really running at all; It was making entire system run slow and I could not send mail at all. I decided to backup my Mail folder and Export all the 'On My Mac' folders before making any changes.

After all was backed up, I rm -rf ~/Library/Mail ; I then reopened my Mail app. I re-added the old account. All my online stuff is fine obviously as it is delivered through IMAP. The 'On My Mac' stuff however is seemingly a different story. I attempted to import the exported 'On My Mac' folders, however after they were reimported, none of the subfolders were there, and 1 mailbox in particular did not report an import failure, but does not even import into the 'On My Mac' section.

I also attempted moving the old Mailbox .mbox package/folders to the same place they had been, but this does not seem to work either. I am just presented with an empty folder structure upon reopening Mac Mail.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Multiple 'sent' Folders On Mail Account?

May 23, 2012

why I have multiple 'sent' folders in one of my mail accounts?

As you can see from the screen grab, relating to the 'Skittles' account, there is one 'sent' under Inbox/Skittles, one under 'Sent' and another further down under SKITTLES.

What seems to happen is that any emails sent from my Mac go into one folder, ones from iOS devices go somewhere else, etc.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail : Missing Sub-folders In File Cabinet?

May 10, 2012

After a problem with my "old" MacBook Pro, I have just bought a new one with OSX 10.7.3 Lion and Mail 5.2.  I was able to move almost everything over with the Migration Assistant and recovered almost all the remaining from my cloud backup at Carbonite.  So far so good.

However, in mail, some (not all) sub-folders in the file cabinet do not appear.  I redid the restore from Carbonite but they still do not appear.Tried doing a rebuild of the File Cabinet and the folders within it but aparently that does nothing.

My assumption is that the are there in the folders of mboxes but, since the Library is now hidden from view, I can not look to verify if the mailboxes are there. What do I do to get them visible?
