my email is been sending emails to my contacts with nasty links. Now, when I compose an email can not click on the contact. Uverse told me it is on safari since I can access through firefox, what do i do?

I have a contact for my mom which used to be her first name and last name which I later changed to just "Mom" in the first name box after getting an iPhone. At the same time I started syncing with MobileMe and have been having this problem for about 2 years. Every time I send her an email it changes her name from just Mom to Mom and then adds her last name back into the last name field.

I have recently bought a Mac Book Pro with Max OS X on it. I use a web based outlook to recieve emails from wrok. When composing a new email, and selecting Contacts, my email addresses dont show up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night (really late) I accidentally dragged the Application icon off the dock. I found another, dragged it on - now a Contact icon sits right on top of it so you cannot hardly see the Application file. How do I separate them? I deleted the other Contact icon, thinking that would do the trick, but no.

I have run into a similar problem before, when Address Book stopped accepting changes to contacts altogether. I followed advice I saw on the web and deleted the .plist files for Address Book in the Preferences file in my Library. That worked like a charm. Now, that doesn't work.
I have deleted the files, restarted my computer, verified and fixed permissions using Disk Utility, and let my computer rest overnight by leaving it off. Nothing works and I've tried several combinations of order. I am running Mac OSX 10.6.8 on a first generation Intel MacBook Pro. All software is up to date

I use my Mac for business for years, and until now, I've kept a Windows box to print out mailing labels.I finally got off my butt and got my contacts moved over into address book so I could just use one computer.However, when I went to print a test sheet of labels, I saw that there was no option to print the the Position of my contacts on the label...which I need to do for business.I'd prefer not having to put the "Position" into another field to get it to print, because I like to keep things organized.I'm not afraid of jumping into the Terminal if that's what it takes to get this feature added to my copy.I just need to be able to do it somehow.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Macbook Pro 13". I love the touchpad and only use the touch to click, never pushing physically on the touchpad to click. After upgrading to Snow Leopard today, the touch to click is very unreliable. Sometimes I'll need to click several times to choose an app or even close or chose an internet site link. Restarted a few times cured the problem. Not for me thus far. Especially in choosing windows in powerpoint or even opening the HD sometimes. Do I just reinstall and erase and return to Leopard? Will that put me back where I was when the touchpad worked impeccably?

In Leopard and older OS X's - you could double click the name of the window and it would minimize. Now with Snow Leopard...it doesn't work. Am I going crazy or is it hidden somewhere?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to install some services that I created using applescripts and ThisService. The problem I'm having is that Services is not available in the menu when I right click on a folder or file. Looking under Keyboard in the system preferences, I can see all of the different services that are availible. I have the ones I'd like to use checked but no services appear in the menu when I right click. I've tried resetting defaults in the preferences, logging in and out, restarting and nothing helps. I found another post that said open terminal and run this /System/Library/CoreServices/pbs. When I enter that in the terminal, I get this message "No languages specified - assuming English" and nothing changes. I'm running 10.6.8 and I know that Services used to be avalible in the menu.

I had this problem before in Leopard (with different mouse) but now it seems the problem has returned with snow leopard. has anyone else had this problem? I checked the mouse properties and there's nothing strange there. I also don't have custom drivers installed. Just default snow leopard drivers.

I was wondering if there was a way to enable scroll button click scrolling in Safari 4 on Snow Leopard?
I'm sure there's a proper term for it, but what I mean is when you press down on the scroll wheel and a circle appears on screen with two arrows, when you move your mouse up or down it allows you to scroll through long documents quicker. I think Firefox and Internet Explorer have it.
I read that USB Overdrive might be of use, but it wont recognise my mouse (Logitech MX 620).
I've come across a strange problem that I'm not sure if Mac Mail will be able to deal with natively. Basically, I have several contacts in my address book that have 2 addresses; work and home. I also have 2 mail accounts set up; my work account and my home account. I've run into a few problems at work when I'm sending email to colleagues as it was auto-selecting their personal addresses when I typed in their names. I managed to fix that but now when I send mail from my personal account, the auto-select chooses their work email first so I have to scroll down to choose their personal account.
Is there a way of getting mail to understand that if I'm sending mail from my personal account, then "home" addresses should show up first in auto-complete but if I'm sending from my work account, then "work" addresses should show up first? I understand this is probably a bit of a long shot without a third party tool but thought it best to ask!
I have a friend where I have a single convo with and a group convo with via iMessages. There were times where his messages were sent from his number, and other times from his email address. As you may know, on the Mac it keeps it in the same window. However, on the iPhone it'll separate it. So he unchecked his email on his iPhone. So now everything will be in one window with him on my iPhone, as well as the 3rd friend. Â
But now on my Mac. I can not use the group convo to send him a message. I still receive messages from him in the window that I've had opened for the last year. But I can not use my Mac to send a message to the 2 of them, because he won't receive the message. Â
With that being said, on the single convo. I was able to click his name and a little window pops open. I was able to select his phone number. It automatically switched over so my messages are now being sent to his phone number. It even displayed "iMessages sent to *phone number*".Â
However, on the group message. I select his name and the little window only shows the fact that his email address is no longer registered with iMessages and asks me if I want to remove it. No matter what I do, I can not see his phone number as a selection. Nor can I permanently remove his email address from the group convo. It will disappear, but once I click out of the window then back, his email re-appears. Â
I've tried quitting Messages, rebooting the Mac but I can not change his contact info in the group's convo. I don't want to delete that message just to start a new one. Unless I really have to
I have a lst of ten + people that I want to put into my address book under one disignated. What is the easier way to accomplish that task?

Installed Snow Leopard and lost the ability to double click to open folders in Finder. I can right click to open folders but prefer to double click. Any ideas ? I can double click in other applications with no problems.

However, there are no options to configure this email account, which exists nowhere in the universe. I tried sending mail to this new email address/AppleID account from my work account, only to have it bounce back as undeliverable. On the appleid.apple.com site, there are no options to reset the AppleID's primary email address. My AppleID is now connected to an email address that doesn't exist, I can't configure, etc. etc.Â
