OS X :: Snow Leopard Login Wallpaper Stuck In Leopard's Aurora - CANT CHANGE
Dec 25, 2009I don't know about you, but Snow Leopard's aurora is so much cooler. I used a program called "Desktop 2 Login" to change the default wallpaper for the login screen to a different wallpaper. Using this same program I changed it back to L's Aurora. (Still in 10.5). When I upgraded to snow leopard, the login wallpaper did not change. It is still stuck on L's aurora. I have used about every method besides Terminal, and it won't change.

Nov 17, 2009I had a problem over the weekend where my iMac would wake up seconds after putting it to sleep, and also rebooting after shutting it down. The full story can be seen on this thread here: [URL] At first I thought it was caused by an installation of iMagneto, but it eventually becomes clear that it was caused by what I presume was a corrupted folder (Application Support).
I've not been able to find out any more info about this bug outside of the Apple support forums so I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. The original thread in the Apple forums dates back to early September so it looks like the 10.6.1 and 10.6.2 updates didn't address it. Is it a very rare bug I wonder?

May 11, 2012I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard and I wanted to restore my computer so I found directions that said I should put the snow leopard disk back in the computer and restart it. Well, I did that and now all I have is a blue screen. What do I do!?!? I've tried manually turning it on/off and it will turn off, but still goes back to blue screen with nothing on it.

I have a total of 250gb on my hard drive and 175.23 gb available. I'll still use my mac side for a lot of things so I want sufficient data on there. On the topic of hard drive expansions, I have many external drives so if I could use one of those to expand my hard drive I'd be willing to?

Apr 11, 2012iMac with 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, plenty of space available and currently operating 10.5.8. Now I want to upgrade to Snow Leopard and since my Mac Mini came with it, I attempted to use the OSX install disc from the Mini in the iMac. I don't see a reason why this shouldn't work. There's no DRM or anything as far as I know. I'm just trying to bridge the gap so I can download Lion. I've looked into some of the advice others have given on this subject but my computer doesn't have those issues. I've tried booting from disc but I get the same message.

Jun 27, 2012My computer cannot see my scanner.I am using a UMAX 1220U flatbed scanner.It's connected by a USB cable.It has worked in the past with both Graphic Converter and Image Capture Version 6.0.1 (428).It has never worked with VueScan.Now, today, it won't work at all.Image Capture reports that no camera or scanner is connected.For drivers I use the SANE backends and frontends that I got from sane-project.org/intro.html. When Image Capture works, I see the SANE icon up in the "Devices" section of the column on the left.When Image Capture does not work, I do not see the SANE caption there.I have experimented with the USB cable, unplugging it and replugging it at both the computer and the scanner. I have moved the cable to different ports on the computer without success.
I have tried unplugging the power cord to the scanner for a while and then replugging the power cable.That has worked in the past, but not in the last two days.Today I redownloaded and reinstalled the SANE software again.It did not work.System Profiler does not list the scanner in the USB Device Tree.
