Well I got my mac mini today and I am able to use my files off my Ubuntu linux server but there are some files I want to copy to the Mac Mini and cannot figure out how its my wallpapers. How do I copy these files over.

I am trying to copy .jpg files from an external Toshiba HD (FAT32) to my new Mac Mini. When I connect the drive, open finder, click on the drive, it does not see any of the .jpg files or folders with .jpg files in the folders?

I've just connected my macbook to my tv using a mini dvi to dvi, then dvi to hdmi connections and all I see on the tv is my wallpaper photo, not mirroring my computer at all.

I'm not sure why but whenever I go onto the internet, my wallpaper disappears and it turns blue. If I want to restore it I have to click on a different wallpaper in system preferences then click back to the one I want. Any ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI think I have found a flaw in OSX 10.6.4 file copying..I normall back up my files, by dragging from a folder on my HD to an identical folder on my external HD.The folder I am copying has 86 files in it, but there are only about two dozen new files added since my last back up.I have been telling it by the dialogue box, not to replace identical files in the back up folder, and clicking the check box to apply to all."but when I press the dont copy button, in the copy progress box it says it is copying 86 files. WTF is going on...!@#$%^&*().

I have the current generation $599 Mac Mini, with Nvidia graphics (just to clarify the model).
My wireless network is setup from an Airport Express.
My iMac, Powerbook, iPhones, Apple TV, Wii, etc. can all stay connected without problem.
However, my Mac Mini loses the connection constantly. It shows full signal, but then it drops out 100 percent for a few minutes, nonstop all day. It makes it completely useless effectively.
What kind of settings and things could I try to change?
Or, is this likely a hardware issue?

I copied a cd on toast titanium 7 then dropped in a blank to make a copy. To my horror a grey-ish "curtain" descended across the monitor, dimming the screen. After a few seconds a dialog box in several languages came up "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button or press restart." I pressed the power button which shut it down. Started it in about 10 minutes and things SEEM fine.

Only thing is that, it's a bit slower compares to my Mac pro. It's expected. So I need upgrade some memory and harddisk I think.
I am thinking if I can buy a new HDD, put it into USB enclosure and duplicate OS over and then swap using Disk Utility booted from DVDROM, is it possible? I hate re-install OS. Anyone did this before that can confirm it's doable over USB?
