Ok, so, thanks to Snow Leopard being unable to save paper size preferences, is there a way to go in and delete other sizes from the preferences? We just installed a Zebra printer and we need to print to 2.25"x4.00" and instead of having to pick that every time, I just want to delete the other options...

UPS gave me a Zebra 2844, but I am unable to print to it.
The menu (the top menu bar, "right click" menu etc) fonts are WAY too big. I downloaded TinkerTool and already lowered the size of all the fonts it let me, looked around the settings in the OS itself but I can't seem to touch the menu font sizes at all.

In windows you can select multiple folders and right click and check the size of all the folders combined, on my mac, when I have multiple folders selected and GET INFO, it opens up a window for each corresponding folder and tells me the size of each folder not how much all are in total....aside from a calculator, is there a way to tell the size combined?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe instructions for uninstalling the Hewlett Packard CP1518ni driver (CP1510 series) speak of an uninstaller in my applications folder (Mac OS 10.5), but there isn't any. I have installed the driver twice and in neither case was an uninstaller installed per the log. How do I completely uninstall the driver (short of looking at the log and manually removing all the bits)?

I jsut did a fresh install. wanted to use my SL DVD but the MBP i5 refused to star with it so I used the original DVD (10.5) and upgraded with the SL DVD to 10.6. However after the initial SL Installation, it tried from the SL DVD and this failed. I did a manual restart, starting from the HD and everything ran fine. however today I note there is a locked file on the HD named Mac OS X Install Data. It contains 181 .pkg files.Now I suppose this should have been moved or deleted as part of the install process. Can I move them to a file where they belong?Â

My HP A-I-O printer is not working under SL. Tried deleting the printer in Prefs. and reinstalling the drivers a bazillion times. I even went out and bought a *new* HP printer and I'm experiencing the same problems.
I just installed Snow Leopard successfully, but it doesn't know my HP2600N network laser printer. It's not in the support document and the closest printer, a 2605N is supprted. But HP's site says "HP LaserJet - Software Information for Mac OS X 10.6" and "Obtain Software", but there's nothing there. Any idea of when HP will support the 2600N? (All other upgrades had no problem with the 2600N).

We just bought our second MAC. Spouse decide we needed another so we could both have one. One thing I LOVE about my Mac is : It just works. I want my printer to just work from the get go too.
About every other day, my Mac keeps losing connection to a Brother USB laser printer. I have to disconnect the USB connnection and reconnect it to get the Mac to see it as being online. I've used this printer on this Mac for years without problems.

My son has a MacBook with Snow Leopard. We bought a new Epson Wirelss all in one printer. It is working fine on by desk pc. With the Mac, I had to download the drivers for SL from Epson. Did that. At the add printer screen, the Epson never shows up. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled at least 10 times. Twice, the name of the Epson flashed briefly onto the add printer screen and then disappeared. Any suggestions?

Does anyone else have a Lexmark printer that is working with Snow Leopard? I have an x4850 and after updating it tells me I need to install the software to make the printer work. Of course, Lexmark's site is completely unhelpful and makes no mention of OSX 10.6 at all.

Is there a way, manually or automatically, to delete all the ones I don't need? I've done a search, and a couple of places (possibly outdated) have pointed me to Library > Printers, and that all the printer drivers should be there. When I do that, I only see the application for my own printer.............

Now, my understanding is that for SL, the drivers for this printer are in the operating system and can not be downloaded from HP.
How do I set this up as a network printer? I would like to be able to print from my other computers in the house as well.
Please Note: Snow Leopard only provides drivers for the printing function of this machine. I am going to have to revert to other means to use this device to scan.

I am having a problem with my Canon Pixma 5200. For some reason it has stopped recognising text. It will print out the test print ok. I can print pictures but no text. I have used different applications, Pages, Word and pdf and although it sounds as though it is printing I end up with a blank sheet. I have a letterhead with my email address on it and having typed a long letter only the email address came out (this was in the same font as the letter but a smaller size).

But now months later, when I try to print, it says, 'communication error'. I'm having trouble printing to a printer shared by my Mac Pro running 10.6.8 from my MacBook Pro running 10.6.8 Printer sharing is turned on on my Mac pro, they are connected to the same network, the MacBook via Airport and the Mac Pro via ethernet. I can quite happily swap files between them. When I try to add a printer on the MacBook the Canon iP4300 simply doesn't show up under the list of available printers as I think it should do.

Text looks correct on the screen, but a few letters get replaced in the printed copy with the preceding letter, so M sometimes prints as N, or e prints as d! Some M's and e's print correctly, same font, same page. I've rebooted, deleted preferences, restored fonts from Time Machine backup, no change. I've restarted the printer. But if I print to a pdf file, the pdf is correct, and Preview prints the pdf correctly.Â
