We just installed a Zebra printer and we need to print to 2.25"x4.00" and instead of having to pick that every time, I just want to delete the other options...

Dec 27, 2010I'm new to Mac OS X, but have been working with Linux for almost 9 yrs now. I have set up a Linux box with CUPS 1.3.9. I can print from the server, and from other Linux stations to that remote server. However, I can't print from a client MacBook.
I set up CUPS on the client Mac via http://localhost:631 and created a printer associated with the remote queue / printer on Linux (the URL I use on OS X is http://mylinuxserver:631/printers/hpprinter and the driver is RAW).
I have no problems sending a test page from the CUPS web interface on Mac OS X to the Linux server -- the test page gets printed OK. However, I can't see the printer I just defined from other Mac OS X apps, and neither can I see it from the Add Printer Dialog on System Preferences (it's empty).
I tried creating the printer at the Add Printer dialog, but it would neither let me specify an HTTP URL (as far as I know, I had to use the IP icon on the toolbar) nor specify "RAW". So I tried creating a "dummy" printer in the Add Printer dialog, with a basic config, and then changing it from the CUPS web GUI. This didn't work either, since when I went back to the Add Printer dialog, the printer was gone.

OS X :: Printer Unable To Print Pdf - Failed
Apr 12, 2010I moved up to the HP P1006 since my 1020 was not compatible with 10.6. It has been working great until a hotel sent me a receipt in pdf format. I open the file try to print from the pdf and from the mac, both ways and I get this:
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster failed
I am not a techie, and have no idea what that means. Anyone have an idea?

Feb 7, 2008I open System Prefs and click 'Print & Fax'. I click + to add a printer. The dialog box opens for a few seconds and then closes. Just that window. I cannot add a printer at all or even print anything for that matter. I ran Printer Therapy and it finds nothing wrong. Same with TechTool Pro. Nothing seems to be wrong except this.

Aug 29, 2014I am using Mac OPS 10.9.4 and iPhoto 9.5.1 systems I have just tried to print photos using an H-P Photosmart 7510 printer and am not getting results because I get a message that the paper size is not correct or the print comes from the regular 8 1/2 by 11 tray and not the photo tray which I have told it to do. I also have an H-P Photosmart 335 printer that I have not been able to use because I get message saying the paper is not the correct size. In the past I was able to adjust easily the paper sizes and get good prints. Now, I am not getting any prints because of error messages. It seems to me that updates installed to my computer change the way I am use to doing therefore causing me to learn new ways of operating the jobs I want to do. It is a waste of my time learning the "improvements" the updates keep installing and not improving the way I have been use to doing various tasks.
I do not print many photos so there is some time between the task and Apple has "improved" the system and I have to go back to square one to learn the new way or install another app.

OS X Yosemite :: Since Upgrading Unable To Get Kodak Printer To Print?
Dec 7, 2014Upgraded my iMac (2010) from Mavericks to Yosemite yesterday. Since when, anything I try to print to my Kodak printer grinds to a halt after there first few seconds of starting to print. The printer will print fine from another laptop. It will print test pages and direct photocopies all without a problem. Doesn't matter whether am connected via wireless or USB, the same thing happens. Am thinking I should possibly try to 'downgrade' back to Mavericks - if that is possible.

I have an HP Officejet 6210 that I have been using for the last couple of years with my Windows computer. I'm trying to print off of that through my network, but I keep getting this error
"There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or stop the job and try again."
I have printer sharing turned on through my Windows computer since the printer is connected directly through my windows computer. My other Windows computer that I have at the house can print through the network, but I'm having problems doing so with my iMac. I have the right driver selected through system preferences/print & fax, but it just won't print.
Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong, or is there something I'm missing?
Software :: UPS Thermal Printer With Leopard?
Jun 11, 2008We replaced our office machines with iMacs this week to try to lower user errors and such.
We discovered that we can print our UPS labels via LP2844 printer now but we have an issue. The label doesn't FIT correctly. I remove margins when printing to the thermal and set the label size. But when it prints there is a good inch or more on each side of white space and the label won't fit to the sides. Even clicking "Fit to ..." doesn't work.
Anyone have any tips or ideas on how to get this to work? It's becoming quite frustrating.

I've downloaded the driver for HP LaserJet m1319f MFP and the printer worked fine when I connect it directly to my MacBook (using USB connection).The problem is that printer is supposed to be connected to our office network users through a TP-Link Print Server (TL-PS110U). I've tried to use AppleTalk to connect to that print server but my MacBook only recognized that HP printer as a HP Fax machine and I can't print anything.

Apr 1, 2012I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

Jun 29, 2009i'm trying to print some stuff off using adobe and some parts are printing, but some aren't. I've had this problem before i would print of some formula sheets for my finance class and basically if it wasn't a letter it wouldn't print it off but now it's taking out a lot more.
in the first picture you can see how i went through and wrote the stuff in, wasn't that big of a deal.

Oct 29, 2010Hi, my brand new iMac 21.5" (just 2 weeks old) does not have the appropriate driver for my printer. My printer is a Samsung CLX-3160fn. The iMac has lots of other Samsung drivers, including one that's close (for the 3170 series), but the close one does not work.
Went online to search for driver but was not able to find one for Mac. Does this mean my printer is just not compatible with my iMac?

Using Bonjour to connect a XP and a Vista box I get a error saying "ERROR You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer". I am logged in as the administrator when I do it on the XP or Vista computer and have completed this function on other printer installation before so I know the permissions are there. The software for the printer is loaded on both windows computers.

Aug 27, 2010I have a pre-Intel iMac G5, running OS 10.5.8. I have been using an HP LaserJet P3005, connected with a USB2 cable, with no problems. The fuser got "muddy" on the 3005 so I bought a new HP LaserJet P2035n. I've loaded and reloaded the printer software from the provided CD, downloaded the driver software from the HP support website, but the computer doesn't recognize the printer. Called HP support and everything they suggested came up empty; they told me to exchange the printer for a another new one, but I get the same results with it. I'm using the same USB cable I used with the 3005 -- it worked perfectly with that printer as recently as this morning. What's wrong with my iMac or setup?

I have my new Canon D480 Multifunction printer connected to one of the Macs ("Mac #1) by USB and it prints perfectly with the driver recommended in the printer manual downloaded from the Canon site. I have Printer sharing turned on. The printer's name on Mac #1 is Canon D460-490 (UFRII LT) which is the name that was automatically given to the printer when I downloaded the drivers and installed them.
However I am unable to print to the printer from the second new Mac ("Mac #2") although I have downloaded the same printer driver and have added the printer on Mac #2. The printer's name on Mac #2 is Canon D460-490 (UFRII LT) @ Mac #1.I go through the motions of File, Print, but nothing happens.
