Mac Pro :: Iphoto Will Not Open After Re-install From Back Up Disk
Jun 17, 2012iphoto gave me an error that it didnt work with the current MAC OS (I have 10.6.8). I followed instructions to re-install iphoto from the back up application disk and now it say I can't open iphoto without a software update. I check and all the software is currently up to date.

Feb 8, 2009So I used the iWork '09 trial for 30 days now and now I have a box version and I want to simply use the buy function from the trial to upgrade to the full non-trial version. It has: Quote: If you've purchased an iWork '09 box, you'll find the serial number on the Installing iWork '09 booklet. There's only one problem, there's no serial number on the booklet! How do I install using the buy function or do I have to install the full iWork suite again on my computer? Seems kind of silly. If so, do I need to then uninstalling one of my versions of iWork '09? And if so, which one? How do I tell the difference at that point?
Some of you might be wondering and about to comment on the fact that I should have just bought the online version and saved the hassle. The reason why I bought the box is because I could get it for $39 at my girlfriend's campus computer store.

Sep 3, 2009I lost my photo, all of them. It is definitely my fault. Here's what happened. I did a clean install of SL and transferred all my stuff over from an external drive(TC). I then dropped all my photos into iPhoto. They were all there. I then deleted my originals from the desktop. I assumed that a new folder was created with the photos in it in my pictures folder.
I also erased my TC to make room so I could start doing backups again. Well, just now I realized that iPhoto is empty because I accidentally deleted the photos. I've lost years of pictures. Can I pull off the photos from my iPod or iPhone? There is a problem, neither of those devices have been connected to the computer since the SL install. How I can get those pictures back to my computer.

Dec 29, 2010I have downloaded iWork '09, tried it and registered it, and am using it on a Mini. So far, no problem.
Being an honest fellow, I had bought the "family" license, so that my wife can use it on her laptop. I copied the entire iWork folder (Keynote, Numbers & Pages) into the Applications folder on the laptop and, of course, gave her the registration key.
When she tries to launch one of the applications, she never reaches the stage of being asked to enter the key. The only thing she gets is a message saying that there is a problem, and she should check with the developer to see whether the software is compatible with her version of OS X, and it may be necessary to reinstall the software.
The OS X version is the same on both computers (10.6.5).

Nov 30, 2009I purchased iWork 09 Retail Box from the Apple Store on Black Friday. It arrived today (excellent speed from the Store!) but it keeps prompting me for a serial number so that I can use it. I previously had the trial installed which has since expired a few days ago (although I could still use it for some reason) so I thought it may be something to do with that. I then uninstalled all three and re-installed but it still asks me for a serial number and doesn't seem to give me another other choice other than back out and not enter the program. I've tried to Google the problem and all I get are dodgy sites trying to tell me the serial and others saying that the serial system has been removed from iWork retail boxes.

May 7, 2012I have no experience with any Apple OS prior to Snow Leopard. My daughter has an old M6498 G4 800 mhz, 60GB machine with a grey screen. Went through the steps listed in Apple Support. Disk repair would not work, archive would not work and ended up having to do the "erase and install" with a Replacement DVD sent to us by Apple. After many updates the computer is now booting up with OS 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3 installed.
I have a Replacement DVD of iWork '05 sent by Apple which was previously installed on this same machine before the problem with the "grey screen" and hard drive not working. Attempting to reinstall iWork but the iWork '05 DVD does not display in Finder or Preferences.

Apr 28, 2012I previously purchased iWork 09 with the Family Pack license. I did so by first downloading the trial version, then purchasing the license through the app. So, I never had a DVD for the app to use for installing it. I added it to my second mac by downloading the trial version to it, and then entering my license number. I never added it to my 3rd mac. I have now upgraded all 3 macs to Lion, and need to add iWork 09 to the third. How can I get iWork 09 on my Mac with Lion without buying it from the Mac App store? They have taken down / disabled the trial link and now point everyone to the App store so the old option is no longer available to me.

I tossed the Word Plist file and that did not work.
I have run Virus Barrier X5 and found a about 10 files with Virus 'W97M/Pinky.B' "Quarantened" them and still have the problem.
The problem started -- I think -- when I was doing heavy editing between Numbers and Word. But I don't think it is related (though who knows at this point). Without these programs I'm rendered pretty useless.

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: How To Remove IWork 06 And 08
May 26, 2012I am running the latest version of Snow Leopard on a 2006/7 MacBook Pro. After teaching myself how to use a mac, and how to maintain it, I wish to God I could go back and do full, clean installs of each OS upgrade...alas, hindsight is always 20/20. But thats for another time. My immediate issue is disk space: Using Space Gremlin & browsing my HD I realized I have 3 massive iwork libraries/files/folders. iwork '06, '08, '09. Im certain I dont require all 3 considering I only use most current version (however the previous two take up gigabytes of space). Is there a safe way to delete them? Will the papers written, work saved from '06-on still be able to be opened using the most current version? If so, I wonder why Apple doesnt just delete the old version each time you upgrade?
I have also deleted all podcasts and photos after moving them to an external, yet Im certain that theres gotta be a way to 1) combine my itunes libraries from my two user accounts (I used the same login on both), but have had issues combining songs on my most used account so I can delete the other library for space. After accomplishing that feat I would then like to learn a method to run my itunes and iphoto libraries from my external HD; if so, could someone please help me learn how to do so seamlessly?
