I've got a couple hundred bmp files in iPhoto that I'd like to convert into jpegs or tiffs. Any way that I can do it easily? Is there any software available that would facilitate the process?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I set up my Apple email account (.me) in the Mail application on my Power PC G5 (OSX 10.5.8) after converting my Mobile Me account to iCloud on my other supported devices? I tried changing the incoming server from "mail.me.com" to "p99-imap.mail.me.com" as found in the Mail application on my Laptop, which is now running Lion.

My safari 4 beta hangs and becomes unresponsive and I believe it's due to the animated gifs. The strange thing about this is that it only happens on my blackbook. The other macs are fine.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Tiger, so using any new features in Safari 5 for Leopard is out of the question. The reason I wish to do this is because people still use gifs in forums, and some are very obnoxious with large signature gifs that cause safari to beachball.
I've checked around, and there are other threads but they didn't seem to have a conclusion. I tried something called "SafariPlus", but it caused the program to crash before it could open.
I've messed around with PithHelmet, but it's options to disable animations appear to be only for show, unless it refers to flash animations only. It can block them, but usually ends up blocking everything.
I've looked in the Safari preferences .plist file and couldn't see anything. I've unlocked the Develop and Debug menu, but the only option I see is "Disable Images" in the 'Develop' menu. That functionality seems useful, but there's no way I see to edit what images are blocked, it just blocks them all.
I tried copying the line in the .plist file that dealt with disabling images, but changed it to animations. Didn't work lol
Does anyone know any way this could be accomplished in Safari 4.1?
I'm stuck on a rather buggy problem. I'm trying to produce animated gifs with transparent backgrounds for incorporation into a Keynote (v. 3) presentation. [The individual frames of the substantial animations I am creating are being produced in Matlab using the "print -dpng" command with white backgrounds, which I then want to make transparent.] I seem to be able to download silly animated gifs with transparent backgrounds from the web that display correctly in Keynote. But when I produce such animations myself using convert [from the imagemagick suite, both the version distributed with fink and the more recent version available at [URL] all frames after the first display with white backgrounds in Keynote (but look ok elsewhere). Optimizing the animated transparent gifs in adobe ImageReady CS (v. 1) Does anyone know a good mac program to make animated gifs (with transparent backgrounds) that display correctly in the latest version of Keynote?

I belong to a camera club and they asked for submissions in sRGB jpegs and not imbedded. I may have been confused when I saw my image show up in the message as well as the attachment above. Any way the fellow I was sending them to said he couldn't open them. I have sent hundreds of jpegs and never had a problem. Has anyone had this experience? I went back to the tiff and turned off the imbed in sRGB and saved in Microsoft preference and then converted to jpeg. I can't believe in this day and age jpegs are still a problem being read.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to Mac and I need to find a way of editing JPEG files in a manner similar to the editing capabilities of MS Paint. I.e., nothing very fancy, but cropping, changing color fills, adding text, and saving in high or low resolution. Can you help me find out how to do this on an OS X Lion Macintosh?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've been using Apple Mail with POP Gmail for a few years now with problems. Generally I ignore the Gmail side of things and only ever access through Mail at home, and also use a Blackberry to send and receive emails.
At the moment Gmail pushes mail to my Blackberry and also holds it in the Inbox at Gmail until my Apple Mail app on my iMac downloads it, whereupon it's all moved to All at Gmail. This works fine, but is a problem when I use Mail on my Powerbook - once it downloads the new mail, Gmail moves it to All mail and when I get home and fire up my iMac's Mail, those emails won't appear there. Annoying. So, I need to go IMAP.
My problem is that as I have never bothered with tagging or sorting things on the Gmail side of things, and have done all my ordering through Apple Mail with custom folders and rules, I get the impression all that work goes out the window and I have to start over in terms of organising again, and that in fact any rules I want to set that I want to be duplicated across devices have to be done on the Gmail webpage. Is there any way whatsoever of somehow exporting my Apple Mail rules over to Gmail so that when I change to IMAP it somehow keeps things as they are as best as possible?
Problems started after uploading the Lion in March. Now at least Windows 7 users can´t open any pdfs or jpegs that I have included into sent e-mails. They can see that they are included but can´t open them. What can I do?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy husband's computers use Tiger and Leopard (10.5.8) to access his email on the Mail program. His mail is from Comcast and uses the Comcast server, not apple or iCloud. His mail suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago.....as it did on one of my machines that still uses Tiger. He had not done any updates that could have broken the software. He does not have iCloud except on his phone and he doesn't even have a .mac address. There is no reason for the comcast server to not be able to be accessed by Mail app. He did finally update everything that needed it and it still does not work. Why would Apple's change over to iCloud break email access from other servers and how can we fix it. He really doesn't want to do his mail on Comcast's web site as it's slow and awkward.Â
