I have created a DVD slideshow in iDVD but when I burn it to disc the quality of the images is unacceptable. I have tried different solutions from forums but the results with each thing I try don't resolve the problem.
I have created it in iMovie, Share as a quicktime movie onto my desktop, then moved this into iDVD but the results are still poor. I have also tried burning it through Roxio Toast, and a couple of other disc burning programmes. I have tried it with the images as jpeg's and tiff's on different resolutions, and I have made sure the ken burns effect is off.
I have a new macbook with the latest OS, I'm burning my itunes music folder to a disc. I notice that the folder burned to the disc is slightly larger (in bytes) than the original folder in itunes. It's still the same 4.18GB size, but if you notice the bytes on the burned dvd compared to that on the original itunes folder, the dvd bytes are higher. I even tried burning a second one, after restarting the computer, and the bytes match the original dvd I burned. Why the discrepancy between the original folder size in bytes on my computer and then one I burned onto a disc?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst time burning on a Mac... getting pissed - should be easier than this. I fumbled around for a while and now have a "Burn Folder" folder on my desktop with 3.7 GB of files I need to burn. When I open the file, click "Burn", it tells me to "Insert a Blank Disc to Begin" Okay, seems like I'm making progress... until I insert a blank DVD-R (4.7 GB)... nothing. It ignores the disc.
If I insert the DVD-R separate from the burn folder, I get a window asking me what I want to do, e.g. "Open Disc Utility, etc." none of which seem to be remotely related to burning a DVD... I thought these things were supposed be intuitive.... grrr.... I can't believe I've been I'm spending this much time burning a #$*%ing disc!
I recently burned a couple of .avi and .mpg video files to a dual-layer DVD+R as a data disc (DVD-ROM) using the program "Burn" which is, in essence, a nicer front-end to Mac OS X's burning capabilities.
However, after burning, the video files on the disc are now unplayable. It seems like they are corrupt.
Am I doing something wrong? Do dual-layer discs need special settings to make it work as data discs?
i have a macbook late 2008 aluminium, just tried to burn something to a dual layer dvd with roxio toast 10, it failed and now the disc is stuck in the drive.

I've tried downloading OSX Lion from the App Store about 4 times one of them was while it was hard wired directly to the modem using Verizon Fios service. I've tried creating a thumb drive without sucess several times and keep getting a "Restore Failure, invalid argument" error message.  The dvd (dvd-r) I was trying to burn I get a "invalid checksum" error message and won't burn also.  what I can do to get myself a burned copy of Lion so I can slick my hard drive and start all over? Â

I've been using mac for several years but have never had to burn movies to a disc before. I know that on a PC it is quite simple to burn multiple downloaded movies onto the one disk but I cannot work out how to do it on a mac, as the disk space fills up. I've downloaded "Burn" and "Visualhub" but neither seem to be able to do it.

Hey there! I don't seem to get through this Issue. I was trying to burn content to a Disc and it failed with the error code 0x8002006E, while the process was almost complete. I came across a few forums and nothing helped much to resolve this problem. Is there someone who knows the exact cause? Is this is a known-issue or anything already being addressed by Apple? Or a work-around to get this resolved? because i also read (did not try) that no third-party applications, as an alternative, solved this Issue. Disappointed! Help!  Model: iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) OS: Lion OS X 10.7.4 I have the latest software updates and Firmware updates installed. Â

I just got an OWC Mercury Pro external Bluray burner that came bundled with Roxio Toast 11 Titanium. I'm editing with FCP6 as part of FCS2 and my version of Compressor is 3.0.5 so no "Share to Bluray" template is part of the default options.Â
The default Compressor options are:
DVCProHD 720p24Â Â Â Â (the footage was shot and edited using this codec)
HD DVD H.264 60 minutes
HD uncompressed 8-bit or 10-bitÂ
I've also considered exporting a Quicktime .MOV file and letting Toast do the compressing.Â
My computer intermittently does not recognize the internal disc burning device. Device does not workwhen seen Diagnostic report says:
[code]...

I have 12x3 minute music videos (about 300 mb. each) which I want to burn onto one DVD.
I am unsure of the correct method. I have tried using Toast but it didn't work.
The 12 videos have all been exported using Quicktime conversion and were shot in HDV
I got an error message while burning a CD in iTunes - "the attempt to burn a disc failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error."What does this mean and how do I fix it?

I just got a macbook from ebay. It didn't come with its original install discs. I know it's the latest white model before the aluminium updates- it has a 2.4ghz processor and 160GB. I want to re-install leopard on it and do an erase and install. Is it OK to use the leopard discs that came with my housemates imacs? Or will they be different in some way?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how would I do a system restore on my Leopard upgraded (from a Tiger OS) iMac? I have done several google searches and i keep getting various answers (which there are different ways but I just want to restore my iMac to factory setting) Would I use my leopard or tiger disk, and how would I go about doing a system restore? What I wanted to do was do a system restore on my mac and upgrade to Snow Leopard. There are alot of scattered unimportant photos, movies, and games on my mac and it feels like a system restore would save me alot of time.

Can I reboot my iMac running ox 10.9.4 using my Snow Leopard install disc?

Please take pity on a confused newbie. I'm running 10.4.11 (Tiger) on a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 13" Macbook with 1GB ram. My school requires me to run Bootcamp to take my exams. They told us that we need 10.5 minimum OS and must have our 'original system discs'. The installation dics that I have are for Tiger. If I buy an upgrade disc to Leopard/SL, will that contain the windows drivers I need to install after I install bootcamp? Or do I need to buy a full installation disc of Snow Leopard (since I think you can't buy the Leopard full installation anymore)? Another issue someone mentioned is that both Leopard & SL require 1BG ram minimum, which is what I have. I'm worried the os will run very slow, but I don't really have the money to buy new ram and get it install (and don't want to crack the fragile top case) now that I have to buy the new software too.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWell, my question is very simple: I have a MBA and this other laptop from work, a crappy HP which is old as hell. I'm planning to use Remote Disc to reinstall my Leopard, since the upgrade to 10.5.3 really screwed things here, and I can't figure out why. Point is: instead of running all Leopard installation thru Remote Disc, I would prefer to share Leopard disc 1 over Remote Disc and restore it to a partition on my external HD, making a clone of it, which would install *much* faster. Has anyone tried anything like this? There's any Windows program which allows me to rip a Mac DVD to a Mac partition?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 2007 Intel MBP, running Leopard. I purchased the family version of Snow Leopard. When I tried to install it, it just spins the disc for a minute, makes the noise like it's trying to read it and then spits it out. All other discs work fine with my MBP so I know it is not the disc drive itself. I have all software "up to date." My brother installed SL on both of his MBs, one newer than mine and one older, just fine (with the same disc). I haven't seen anything out there with this issue so I wanted to start a thread to see if anyone knows how to resolve this issue (beyond taking it back to Apple and exchanging).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using a iMac PowerPC G5 that I've received from my brother. He gave it to me with a fresh install of Leopard on it, but he unfortunately no longer has the disc that came with the computer that he also used to format it before handing it to me. With that said, I ordered a new internal hard drive. Naturally, I'll need to re-install Leopard, but I don't have an install disc anywhere. How is this going to be possible? Or will it not be? Do I have to buy a new Leopard install disc? If so where and how much?
