OS X V10.4 :: How To Edit/delete Bluetooth Configuration In Internet Connect
Apr 17, 2012
I have a BlackBerry Curve 9300 and have been trying to make use of the tethering option I just purchased through T-Mobile...Unfortunately, no one has been able to help me resolve my problem with all my phone calls to T-Mobile's call center as well as BlackBerry's. Before, somehow, I was able to enter information about my phone on Internet Connect (on my Mac OS X 10.4.11 by the way), but with having downloaded a pretty reliable set of instructions, I need to change the specific Bluetooth configuration and cannot.Â
I've seen 4-5 times where all bluetooth devices stop working all at once, and the Bluetooth configuration utility does not open, so the only solution is to shut down by pressing the power button. Sometimes, restarting once is enough to correct the problem. Other times, I have to do it again and hold down the shift key when I press the power button, and OS X sees the keypress and forces a safe restart.

This isn't directly related to macbooks but if I want to use the bluetooth built into my computer to connect to my non bluetooth printer can I buy any USB bluetooth dongle to plug into the printer ( Kodak all in one 5300) or do I need some specific kind? All the ones I look at don't mention anything about printers just connection between computers and phones.
I'm looking for a solution to my WiFi internet connection. I haven't used my MacBook Pro laptop in the last week or so - which means there is no way I have done any changes to the network configuration. However when I now try to connect to the internet via a Hub - which is previously set up on the macbook and worked no problem - is now not working at all.

I have no idea why but I can't delete or edit Address Book entries in Lion. It works fine on the web-based client and from my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 (CDMA). But my Address Book.app in Lion only can view them. I've tried turning off the Address Book function and re-adding it. I made sure all permissions are correct for the address book prefs etc are correct.

I am having a problem accessing any files on my desktop. I cannot delete, edit or move files there. I have rebooted and repaired permissions using disk utility. When trying to perform any task with files on the desktop, the icon freezes and gets 'stuck' to the mouse and prevents me from performing other tasks. It also prevents shut down (have to hard shut down with the power key).Current permissions for the Desktop folder are drwx
I have a macbook a little over a year old. It's my first mac and I love it. Yesterday though it started acting really weird. I first noticed that it was really, really hot and the fan was running. I turned it off and back on and here's what I found out:
Applications are being deleted from macbook. ITunes, IPhoto, iChat have clear question marks over icon. There are 8-10 blank spaces in the Applications folder where applications have been deleted. However, data is still there (ex. pictures still there, but no iPhoto).
Internet= Says I have internet but wont connect.
Cannot open " System Preferences" or "Internet Preferences".
If connected to home computer will connect to internet and allowed to open internet preferences but still no system preferences.
If shut down....takes a while to come back on and starts up 2-3 times.
Also "Preview" is gone. Now " ColorSync Utility" opens.
Is this my hard drive dying? I'm tech challenged, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Why can't I edit or delete Address Book cards on my Macs, now that I've migrated to iCloud? I can edit/delete if I go to iCloud, but the changes don't sync with my Macs.Just wait for Apple to fix a bug?
I'm running OSX 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro, and today I've been unable to connect to the internet via ethernet or wi-fi, unless I'm in safe mode. Then everything seems to work as it should, which makes me believe that this is a software issue rather than a hardware problem. I've tried making a new account with administrator priveleges, but that doesn't solve my issue. Does anyone have any advice on how I can connect to the internet under my normal user account, rather than in safe mode? I should note that I won't be able to get my hands on my repair CD or perform a clean install of OSX because that stuff is at home, and I'm in college. Also, I'm at a university and don't have a router. I just use the campus-wide wi-fi. Finally, my roommate has no problem accessing the internet in our room via ethernet or wi-fi, but I do. Thanks for the help everyone.
currently I connect to the internet by doing this: Go to System Preferences / Network. Then I select my internet provider name on the left pane and finally click on the Connect button. That's all. This internet profile has a PPoE service name, an account name and a password. My internet connection uses a cable DLink router (it's not wireless).Â
Question:Â
1) Does the password I mentioned above mean that my neighbors can't access my internet, or are they able to do that and, in this case, I need to set another password somewhere else?Â
2) If I need another password, how and where do I set it,
I am having problems. I want to delete a partition and create a new one, but I need to be able to click option in able to do this. For whatever reason, disk utility will not let me edit my external in any way without deleting the whole thing which I do not want to do.
I have a blackbook (intel core 2 duo) and I can connect to my landlord's wireless network (they have a netgear wgt624) but I can't actually use the web (Safari or Firefox will just "think"). I've tested the diagnostics and it confirms that my mac can connect to the network, but it cannot connect to the internet. The network uses WPA personal and it has a 19-aphanumeric passphrase.
*Also - would it be possible for me to extend the wireless range (and make it possible to browse the web) if I used my own 2wire wireless modem to connect to the netgear wgt624?
I really want to be able to connect video recorder to imac and be able to edit footage and make more presentable then burn DVDs. What cables and or software do I need?
I'm trying to setup my MacBook to allow internet connections to devices via Bluetooth PAN. In other words, getting a Palm Centro/Motorola Q9h to access the internet via the mac's internet connection over Bluetooth PAN.
I've enabled Internet sharing correctly, checked all the relevant boxes.
When the device connects to the Macbook, the Bluetooth PAN connection shows 'active', but it seems that the Macbook is not assigning an IP address, nor routing the packets.
Setting up the bluetooth so that I can use my mobile phone to access the internet on my mac. I have an LG phone but there isn't an LG option in the dropdown bar, does LG perhaps have another name that's in the list. Also what do I put in the username, password and phone number sections? I have tried to do it but it has failed.
I have a Bluetooth DUN connection setup with my Verizon cell phone (EnV Touch). It works great most of the time. It will randomly lose connection (data will stop transmitting), but it will not disconnect or tell me it stopped working. It looks like it is working fine on the top right menu bar, but data will not send back and forth.
Is there a way of using my Orange Samsung D600e to allow my Powerbook to surf the net when wifi isn't present. I've heard bits about using it via GPRS.So far I've managed to browse certain files from my Mac on the phone but I really wan't to be able to switch off airport and get a connection via my mobile. Any tips? Is it possible?I also have an old Nokia 6230e handset
What I wanted to know was if there is some kind of way of connecting a phone to a computer via bluetooth, but make the computer think it is connected via USB? Like, if it could have a virtual USB device which comes from the phone via bluetooth. I know it sounds stupid and useless, but my phone's USB connection is broken. I can iSync via Bluetooth but I would like to use software like Salling Media Sync or doubleTwist to transfer and sync music, but neither have a bluetooth option.
I bought two track pads to use with my Lion OS on my MBP. One for the home and one for the office. The first one I set up was flawless. When I tried to repeate with the second one it would not connect. I tried to rename the first and the new name was accepted in the preference list but the details kept the old name.
i have tried to connect my iphone 4s via bluetooth and it says that my macbook air is not supporting this feature after i follow all the steps when connecting.
I have a new Jabra bluetooth headset and hoped I could pair it with my iMac. Nothing works. I see other colleague's desktops and devices (including smartphones) that show up in Bluetooth setup. But after two weeks of trying everything I could think of, I've failed.Â
