Has anyone been able to use the traditional iphone earphone/mic combo to work in Windows XP? Obviously the earphones work, but I have not been able to get Windows to recognize the mic (I don't care about the button.
View 2 RepliesI'm thinking of buying some of the Apple earphones with remote and mic and i was wondering if there's a way of making them work in skype both under windows and osx? I know it works pretty much plug'n'play on the iPhone/iPod but i'd imagine you would need some sort of adapter to make it work in the audio port on your laptop, or some sort of device so that you could connect it both to the Mic and Audio port.

As i said, i have a mac early 09 model and it dosent reconize my astro a30 headsets mic or "button". I have tried all the adapters and my mac does not see my mic. The button that is supposed to stop and play music doesnt work either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a mac air version 10.9.3 running on mavericks and whenever I plug in my apple earphones, or any earphones with a mic and remote on the cable, itunes starts playing music without me touching anything. It plays music every time the contact plug of the earphones moves in the computer (like if I move the computer and the jack plug gets jiggled) and I don't know how to keep it from doing that. I tried quitting itunes but it didn't work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Macthe Ripper to rip my sons chuggington dvd to my macbook pro, then i used handbrake to convert it, i managed to copy the converted file to my itunes library, but when i symc my iphone 3gs, it says it won't copy the file because it can't be played on my iphone.Several forums mention using the iphone/ipod touch preset when converting in Hnadbrake, now i may be a numpty, but i cant find this preset anywhere?! The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison. It took hours to convert the first time, if I do this, will it really work? Or will I waste another 3 hours?!

I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.

Last night I installed VMWare Fusion and Windows 7 on my Unibody MBP running SL. When I use Fusion, my computer slows to a crawl. I spent a few hours getting Windows set up and installing software last night.

Im having trouble with VMware.. If I set the wireless network connection to NAT, the internet works, but my xbox 360 wont show up in the media streaming options in windows media player. However, if I change the network settings to bridged, I lose my internet connection (well.. sometimes it works.. 80% of the time it doesnt..) Connecting to bridged is the only way I can connect to my 360, and only some of the time where the internet will work. Is there a way to fix the problem with bridged or NAT so they both work together?

Now after my Toshiba crapped out and I switched to a Mac I was wondering why when I put the DVD into the laptop (MacBook Pro Intel processor) why I can only see the name of the dvd and not the contents. I hope someone can help me since I hate having to boot up Windows in Parallels and then play using Windows or drag it to my mac partition since this takes time and I just really hate having to see Windows load on my Mac.
