On my pc I use Morzilla Firefox and on my bookmark option bar above the tabs I have all of my bookmarks just as icons not as the name. Like for macrumors it was just an apple with no text. Can this be done on my new MBP?
View 6 RepliesFirstly, my apologies as this is a topic that I've seen posted several times. Unfortunately, I haven't actually found an answer/workaround after searching a few different forums sites. I've been using Camino as my primary web browser and have generally enjoyed it. However, my one real frustration is that every PDF I open has to download and be displayed in Preview rather than native within the browser (skimming lots of journal articles on PubMed becomes very tedious this way). As such, I was very excited to switch back to Safari when I saw that it can open PDF files in tabs. And this bring me to the whole point of my post: How do I open a folder of bookmarks (e.g. from the bookmarks bar) in a new set of tabs without getting rid of all my existing tabs? Camino and Firefox both offer this option and I find it really essential to my way of browsing the web. I don't want to open a new window just to view an entire set of bookmarks (the point is to keep them all open in one window) and I don't want to manually open each page in a new tab.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI opened safari and all of my tabs/reading list were thrown way outta wack.The reading list is "empty" but has hundreds of greyed out stuff behing the glasses and explanation. Everytime i add something to the list it adds the item multiple times, 1 at first then 2 for the next item ad infinitum.My once polished tabs bar has been riddled with old stuff that I never put there.

I set up multiple users on my Mom's iMac and wanted to import her firefox bookmarks to the new user. Every time I try to export/import HTML using the Organize Bookmarks Menu it never works.

And this address can change as time goes on, so the address value for the bookmark seems to be dynamic.

I couldn't figure out this one: Is there a way to close an individual Firefox tab by clicking it in conjuction with pressing a key? This way, I won't have to go straight to the "x" every single time when using the mouse. Cmd+W works, but only on immediate screen. I used to simply middle click to close a tab, but my new mouse's wheel button sucks!
One of my most common navigation methods in Firefox is apple+# to a specified tab - you know, when you've got five tabs, hold down apple, and hit 1,2,3,4 or 5 to go to the associated tab. I need that functionality in Safari.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI have a bookmarked a reputable company for easy access.Log-in icon, easy and secure, no problems.Weeks ago, I entered a wrong password, and a page stating "error" appeared. log-in was successful when reset and again, secure, and safe.
Now this page is still appearing any time I press the log-in button to access the secure logging in page, when I go to bookmark. OK, I removed the whole bookmark from safari, accessed the general web site of the company, and whenever I try to access the log-in page, (not even bookmarked!) I immediately get the same error page!, again and again, without even entering any data or user name or attempted password. This "error" page must have been stored somewhere on my MBA.How can I remove this and start a fresh bookmark?
I have really tried to like the new Safari, but I can't seem to generate 'affection' for the tabs. One thing especially is irritating to me. Being over the address bar is bad enough, but when there's a bunch of tabs, finding a spot to 'grab' the window to move it is difficult.
Is there a way to move the tabs back below the address window like the older Safari? I hope this hasn't been asked and answered before. I didn't see it.
my safari upon opening shows a tab for the current window. i thought tabs only appeared when you have 2 or more concurrent windows open at the same time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't like Firefox 11 one bit and am yearning for 3.6. I read online to drag firefox 11 to trash and that, of course did nothing to actually uninstall. I then dowloaded 3.6 and 'installed' that, restarted but still firefox 11 lives on in my computer.

When using geekbench, will you get an accurate score from the 32-bit system, or would you need to use a 64-bit system in order to see what your true score is? I only ask because I don't mind spending $20... but I'd rather spend that one something that I will use more than one time.
Currently my 2008 2.8 oct core mac pro with 16 gb's of ram is getting me an average of about 9250.
Quitting Safari after adding a new bookmark results in losing the bookmark when I reopen Safari. Quitting Safari after deleting a bookmark results in the deleted bookmark reappearing when I reopen Safari. Any suggestions for fixing this problem. This problem does not occur if I close but do not quit Safari.Â
