View 2 RepliesI have an Imac; A Lexmark printer. The printer prints documents fine, it prints web pages fine, but when I try to print TARGET coupons, It says "You are trying to print to a device that is not valid for printing coupons" How can I print TARGET coupons?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody have any coupons for the iphoto book printing? About to print a few books from our wedding and could use a coupon if anybody has one or knows of any that would be great.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEverybody talks about getting their cases for half price or using coupons or whatever. How can I too do this? Was going to wait for an incase update to fit the new MBP but I just read that the speck cases still fit perfectly and would like to pick one up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to print coupons from target.com and it keeps telling me to download the updated version of Java. I downloaded Java on my computer, but it's not working.

I have a:
Macbook Pro running Mac OSX 10.5.8
(Office 2008) Word, Exel, PowerPoint, (Iwork 2009) Numbers, Pages will not save:.
I tossed the Word Plist file and that did not work.
I have run Virus Barrier X5 and found a about 10 files with Virus 'W97M/Pinky.B' "Quarantened" them and still have the problem.
The problem started -- I think -- when I was doing heavy editing between Numbers and Word. But I don't think it is related (though who knows at this point). Without these programs I'm rendered pretty useless.
props to Stuipdboy1000 on the heads up
under Quick Links
you can see iWork '11

I need to update iWork on my Mac cos iWork 08 docs don't work on my new iPad. But iWork 09 is about 18 months old now so surely will be updated soon. Would anyone who is learned in the product cycle of Mac apps care to hazard an educated guess on an update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIndeed, is there a difference? I notice that Family costs more than the other one, but I can't make out what difference there is in the description.

Is there any talk of an update of iwork '08 during Macworld '09? I am a switcher to Mac as of last month and I really like pages instead of word. I've been using a trial version and I'm going to buy it, but I was wondering if I should stick it out by using google docs in the event that they release iwork '09. By the way, in case any admins are reading this post, why don't they include Apple software in the Buyers Guide?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhy is save as an iWork 08 file an option in the new iWork 09 programs? Does iWork 08 use a different extension that cannot open iWork 09 documents?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I used the iWork '09 trial for 30 days now and now I have a box version and I want to simply use the buy function from the trial to upgrade to the full non-trial version. It has: Quote: If you've purchased an iWork '09 box, you'll find the serial number on the Installing iWork '09 booklet. There's only one problem, there's no serial number on the booklet! How do I install using the buy function or do I have to install the full iWork suite again on my computer? Seems kind of silly. If so, do I need to then uninstalling one of my versions of iWork '09? And if so, which one? How do I tell the difference at that point?
Some of you might be wondering and about to comment on the fact that I should have just bought the online version and saved the hassle. The reason why I bought the box is because I could get it for $39 at my girlfriend's campus computer store.
I have only used Dashboard maybe 14 times - mostly in the first week or owning my shiny new MBP.I use Exposé ¡ll the time of course, just dont see the point for Dashboard.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSo i have been using macbooks and macbook pros for a long time but i am looking at getting a 27" imac for the desk so i can use my macbook pro for mobile tasks. At the moment macbook pro stays plugged in and i take my macbook everywhere...... Another side task being i wouldn't mind getting back into a bit of gaming CSS and Guildwars (run though crossover) as i have heard good reviews about it working well, i do miss GW..... anyway i have been looking at the refurb store and i am rather tempted but i can't seem to work out what would be a better trade off, only 512 of gfx ram with a i7 or 1Gb with a i5 now obviously for the gaming side the i5 is the better option but i kinda want the i7 can anyone advise what they picked for playing games ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know that Partitioning a SSD won't matter in speed since there's no inner/outer rings to the platter. But is it possible for organizational purposes? Like if you want an OS partition, but then a different partition for files/temp things that you can format/erase all at once? I can't seem to get my system drive down to below 60 gigs, so the OWC 60gig SSD is just too small. But the 120 is way too big. So I was thinking of doing like an 80gig partition for my current OS/Apps and just SuperDuper it over and then have a 40gig partition where I put my most recent "heavy use" files, like work files and such.
Where I can change them in/out depending on what project is at the top of the hopper. That way, if I have 20 gigs of work files, I can use the SSD to store them and have other SATA drives backup/store the main storage. And then if a new project comes to the forefront, move the files from the SSD to the storage, and move the new projects to the SSD partition. And, I could set that 2nd partition to be the photoshop scratch too. And yes, I have triple redundant backups, so everything on the SSD or SATA drives would be backed up to 2 different places daily anyways.
With Airport Extreme you run your DSL to modem then LAN to Airport Extreme, is this correct? If so then is a standard wireless router a better option? what's the purpose of Airport Extreme?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm still relatively new to the mac world of things so I was wondering how you format a mac? I've never done it before...I've only formatted a PC before. At work we have to sell one of our Macs so we want to format everything off it for security purposes before we sell it off.
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust wondering why does apple supply firewire ports on all their comps including laptops, because these days I can't find anything that has firewire ports that I will use everyday i.e. flash disc, HD, mouse etc. I know there's somewhere a 2.5" HD firewire case available but I already have a USB case for an external, and it would probably be more expensive to get it. What do you guys use firewire ports for?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of highly confidential business files, to which I need to provide one of the staff in my office access. I do trust the person, otherwise I wouldn't think about providing them access in the first place, but as a security measure, are any of the following possible?
- Preventing the possibility of being able to copy and paste the file from Finder into a USB key. I need the file to be readable and writable, but would like to make sure it does not leave my computer.
- Logging a user's activity. I've looked into parental controls, and I've looked into the Console, but one is too limited (sites only) and Console is too complicated. I want to have a quick overview of what's going on. Simply put, I probably will never look at this log, unless that staff member leaves the company.
I had just received my first macbook a short time ago and I was wondering what the exact purpose of the AC power cord was.
Is it simply an extension cord to the charger? Or does it have a different purpose?
So if Front Row has been removed from Lion, does the Apple Remote url...have any purpose in controlling the Mac?I know you can use it with a dock to control an iPhone or iPod touch, but I am asking specifically about uses of the remote with an iMac and no Front Row app.

I've created a spreadsheet for budgeting purposes and to keep track of my money (student). I know that on certain days (like Payday) the amount I will be paid and obviously the date. I want to be able to put this in my table but not to be added to the formula until that date is passed or met.
For Instance, If I get paid on 01/09/10 and put this in my table, the formula will add this amount to the total income for the month of September. The funds have not actually been paid to me however, so they need to be excluded until they are paid i.e on the 01/09/10.
I've been looking at buying a Mac for some time now and recently decided the iMac was the way to go. Now I'm not sure whether the new model suits my needs better than the old, so I was wondering if somebody could give me some advice on this.
What I'm going to do with it:
- record audio with an external audio interface
- use Cubase or Logic
- use an external full-hd monitor (dvi and hdmi inputs)
- use an external FW800 harddisk
- playing or editing hd-video (editing is not important, but it would be nice)
Does DDR3 and higher memory bandwidth give me any advantage? I think recording audio isn't that hard on the memory, besides using samples (which I won't besides some drum-sampling instrument like ezdrummer or addictive drums). Does the shared video memory affect overall performance? Or is it just like having less RAM? I know the old model has an FW400 and a FW800 port, but are they on the same bus? I heard someone say something like that, which would mean that my external harddisk would run on 400 when I connect a FW400 interface to the 400 port. I tried my best to read as much as I could about Macs and specs over the past few months, but I feel like I know too little about above mentioned issues to decide on the new versus the old iMac.
I've noticed in different threads around here that some folks talk about having an admin acct while setting up a user account for person use. What's the advantage to doing that vs just using the admin account for everything? Since wife and I now use separate computers, I'm trying to do everything possible to keep this thing running as smoothly and efficiently as possible for as long as possible!
