I just want to have the files so i can watch them on my computer and store them on my hard drive so i can watch them whenever wherever without the disc.
I copied a cd on toast titanium 7 then dropped in a blank to make a copy. To my horror a grey-ish "curtain" descended across the monitor, dimming the screen. After a few seconds a dialog box in several languages came up "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button or press restart." I pressed the power button which shut it down. Started it in about 10 minutes and things SEEM fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a bunch of 1080p videos in MKV. When I play them using VLC and switch the video to a different scene (say 20 minutes ahead), artifacts appear throughout the video for a few seconds and then it disappears. I have this on about half of my MKV 1080p Videos. Is this normal? This only occurs when I manually switch to a different scene. If I play the video straight through then it plays fine. This occurs on both my Mac Pro and Windows Vista Computer. Are my videos corrupt? I don't notice this on my Mac Pro when using Movist when switching scenes.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've copied all of my dvd's using Handbrake to my portable harddrive. For some reason some of the movies when I click on them wont let me skip to different scenes. It's like you have to watch the whole movie or let the movie load for 30 minutes completely to then skip to the scene you want. Does anyone know why some movies will let me skip to any scene and then others will make me wait for it to completely load? I don't know if this makes sense or not but thanks for the help.

WTF is going on...!@#$%^&*().

Does a new user like myself benefit from Roxio Toast? Or does the software that comes with Mac OS X capable of performing some simple CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R and DVR-RW burning fuctions. I want to organize some old digital images and want to get them off old CD's onto newer (better quality) DVD's and I may temporarily use some DVD-RW's and do my final burn on DVD's.

Each video TS file is a full length movie, but what I want from each movie is one short film which is part of the extras. So I want 2 short films on one DVD. How can I put these 2 short films on to one disc?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeveral years back I tried burning DVDs using the internal DVD drive on my iBook, and what happened is that everytime I burned files to the DVDs, I couldn't go back and add more files. So I was only able to save files one time, then the DVD was no longer usable for burning files. I know there is a setting that will allow you to continue saving a few files at a time. How exactly do I do that?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded some tv shows from the internet. I converted one show (21 minutes) to watch later on my iphone. I first used the convert option on roxio toast and this procedure took almost 2 hours. Then out of curiosity i did the same thing on handbrake. Handbrake only took 15 minutes. Also the quality from the handbrake app looks a whole lot better. So i guess my question is why is handbrake so much better with a free app?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't burn a disk, any disk. Toast was working fine but now won't launch. I reinstalled it twice, threw out the preferences, tried launching it from different users (including Administrator), repaired disk permissions, ran Disk Warrior to rebuild directories... Toast still won't launch. So, I turned to the Disk Utility to try and burn a disk, the "Burn" button is always greyed-out. Serious Voodoo, I can't burn a thing even if I were a fire bug.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had Toast 6, and it worked fine on my Pioneer DVR-112 for the last couple of years.
I just upgraded to Toast 9 Titanium, and it's now rejecting almost all the blank DVD-Rs that I try to record to.
"insert blank media."
But I know the spindle of Verbatim DVD-Rs ARE blank, and good quality.
Going back to Toast 6 works fine. It's just Toast 9 that complains.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn preparation for my move to Mac I am looking at purchasing Toast 10.
Excuse my ignorance but what will purchasing Toast 10 give me over the included iDVD and any other utilities that come with an iMac.My iMac has not arrived,
I just purchased Toast 10 Titanium Pro with the hopes of being able to burn blu-ray DVDs using my MBP which I purchased last December (2008) with a CD/DVD burner: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868.
Do I need to purchase a special blu-ray drive (internal or external) to do this? I was told by my Apple rep that my dvd burner was fine and that I needed to use Final Cut Pro. I read that Toast 10 Titanium Pro was also compatible to make blu-ray DVDs.
when I go the DVD-Video section I put all the videos I wanted in and the chapters/Menu I wanted etc.
Then it said that I had a mixture of both PAL and NTSC (or however you spell it) which I already knew and was fine with because I wanted to test out what my PS3 could read and could not between files of .mkv, .avi, and .mp4 (ironically it play/read everything but the .mp4).
since disk utility keeps giving me error on putting the iso file to my usb key, i decided to give toast a try and i couldnt find my usb key at the destination section .
