Mac Pro :: Toast 9 Titanium Rejects Most Blank DVD-Rs?

Oct 12, 2008

I had Toast 6, and it worked fine on my Pioneer DVR-112 for the last couple of years.

I just upgraded to Toast 9 Titanium, and it's now rejecting almost all the blank DVD-Rs that I try to record to.

"insert blank media."

But I know the spindle of Verbatim DVD-Rs ARE blank, and good quality.

Going back to Toast 6 works fine. It's just Toast 9 that complains.

Then it said that I had a mixture of both PAL and NTSC (or however you spell it) which I already knew and was fine with because I wanted to test out what my PS3 could read and could not between files of .mkv, .avi, and .mp4 (ironically it play/read everything but the .mp4).

Software :: Toast Titanium Encoding AVI Files?

Jun 22, 2008

How Toast Titanium lets me put a 4.37GB DVD-R in my powerbook G4, then lets me drag like 20 AVI files into the Toast screen, then when I press record it starts encoding and takes forever to encode each one, and then when it's all finished after about 12 hours of encoding... THEN is when it chooses to tell me:

"Not enough space on the DVD-R"and aborts the whole burning process. What in the HELL. Is there any way to have Toast tell you how many AVIs you can put on one DVD-R BEFORE encoding them?

Software :: Finding Toast Titanium Encoded Files?

Feb 17, 2009

I am running Toast Titanium v. 8.1 (112). When I burn a DVD from standard files, such as an AVI, it encodes the file and then burns it to disk. The last time I was doing this, I checked the disk space on my HDD before and after burning; the difference was more than 3 GBs. Where does Toast store the files the result from the encoding? Having burned a couple dozen DVDs, I have reason to suspect that there are tens of gigabytes on my hard drive taken up by these encoded files which I will no longer use.

Applications :: Burning DVDs With Roxio Toast Titanium 5.2.1?

Sep 6, 2003

I bought Roxio Toast Titanium 5.0 and downloaded the 5.2.1 update so I could burn some DVDs on my iMac (which is about 2 months old). I set it to record a video_ts file from one of the DVD discs that I've ripped to the hard drive. It records the files and verifies, then it says that the DVD was burned fine. The problem is that when I try it on any DVD player, the disc will not play. It won't play in a stand-alone DVD player, on the iMac nor on my PC. I checked what was burned, and all the files were recorded fine. I've gone through 6 discs with the same result. The only time it recorded anything viewable, was when I set it for "disc copy" and even then, the entire DVD was not recorded because of some error and when I popped it in the player, the portion that was recorded was very pixelated and unwatchable.

I've tried re-starting, while holding the option key down, and some other things I picked up on the Internet, but to no avail.

OS X :: Rejects DVD After About 15 Seconds?

Nov 19, 2010

I have an iMac5,1 operating OSX 10.4.11. Recently, the reader has started to reject all DVDs after a few seconds. Reading about similar problems, I bought a laser lens cleaner. The problem still remains - the cleaner disc is rejected after a few seconds.

The instructions with the disc are designed for tray input rather than slot input. How can I play the disc from OSX commands? I have tried DVD player but pressing the play button it informs me it does not recognise the disc.

Where can I go from here?

Intel Mac :: Yahoo Mail Rejects Password But Only On It

Mar 12, 2012

I have an Intel iMac and loving it, I bought it last December and Apple mail was just perfect. But recently every day I get an error message saying Yahoo has rejected my password and to re-enter, with an option to save in keychain. The password keeps being rejected but if I go into Yahoo mail on Safari then all seems fine and Apple mail works. I also have an iphone and ipad and these are fine, no password issues at all.

I know there has been a Yahoo update recently and I thought it could be that but then surely the iphone/ipad would also be affected. Equally there has been Lion updates and it all started around that time.

I have tried deleting the password in keychain and starting again, no help. I have deleted the email account and stated again

ICloud :: OS 10.7.3 And Mail Rejects Password On New IMac

Apr 12, 2012

I use a new imac (recently replaced my old one for iCloud readiness) with 4GB memory, OS 10.7.3, and Mail regularly rejects my icloud password. I have checked the account settings and they are as suggested. I have no problem with my iPad or my iPhone which are both running iOS 5+, and my password works fine everywhere else Apple,

It happens at least once per day, and when I cancel the request for password in a few minutes, without further action on my part, Mail decides it does know my password after all! Not debilitating, but mildly annoying.†Could this be an icloud issue? Maybe they need to work on this? Or (gasp) is it just me!

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail / ICloud Rejects Password On One Mac But Not The Other

Apr 19, 2012

I have just upgraded my MacbookPro and my MacPro from 10.6 to 10.7.

For whatever reason - the MBP works fine and can access all my email accounts, whilst the MP is constantly rejecting the password for iCloud.

My Mobileme account was upgraded to iCloud several months ago and has been in daily use on both macs ever since.

The only difference in the upgrades is that the MBP upgrade was not a clean install, whereas the MP was installed with a clean hard drive and then all apps/data was transfered over. Disk permissions have been repaired and that has made no difference.

Both macs are on the same network, with the same passwords and same account settings.

Mac Pro :: Lion Login Field Rejects First Keystroke?

May 29, 2012

I am posting this in the Mac Pro forum because I am not seeing this issue on my my Macbook Pro, and therefore think it may be machine-specific. Since upgrading my Mac OS to Lion, the first keystroke is often rejected by the password field on the login screen. The field accepts the keystroke initially, but then "refreshes" and blanks out. This causes a lot of login errors, and I have to retype my password. It only happens when first logging in, never on the second entry of my password. Also, it happens equally often whether logging in on a cold boot, or when logging back in after logging out. Additionally, it doesn't happen every single time, although it happens a lot. My Lion system is an upgrade/install, and I often wonder if a clean install would fix this.
