Feb 2, 2010I just got a copy of Toast Titanium 10 and want to back up my dvds. The first one i tried said that the disc is copy protected. How can i get around this or can I? Jan 19, 2009I copied a cd on toast titanium 7 then dropped in a blank to make a copy. To my horror a grey-ish "curtain" descended across the monitor, dimming the screen. After a few seconds a dialog box in several languages came up "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button or press restart." I pressed the power button which shut it down. Started it in about 10 minutes and things SEEM fine.

MacBook Air :: Import To Air Video Recorded On Digital Tape?
Apr 24, 2012Have just finished movie on MacAir with material from camcorder's hard drive. No problem in transferring material from the brand new camera. I have older digital material recorded on tape cassettes by Sony videocam which I would like to re-work with iMovie11. The iMovi11 manual says transfer to the Air requires a FireWire connection. I still have the older digital camera and the cables that came with it but neither the Air nor my Toshiba laptop have FireWire ports. Any thoughts on how to effect a transfer?

Nov 5, 2010I have recorded a video on an SDHD card with my video camera in MOV format. As far as I know, this should play or be detected in IMovie. However, when I try to put it into IMovie, it says no files. It plays on my camera, a JVC GY-HM100U. I do not want to connect the camera using the USB port.

Sep 23, 2009I used a Sony miniDV camcorder for several years and recorded a lot of video. I bought a Sony HDR-HC7 High Def camcorder and am now trying to download some of the video tapes I recorded on the old Sony camcorder. The video clips chop short and the I can't understand the audio. I'm using imovie 06 and a PowerPC G4 loaded. I think I may need to buy a camera like I had and play the tapes back on it. What do you think? I'm pretty sure I have the setting on the camera and computer set properly.

I have about 10 of them done already, with each side of the record in its own garageband project. Now i need to go about splitting each side into separate tracks. May 1, 2012I have been using Macs since 1992, upgrading to new operating systems as they came out. Now have Lion 10.7.3. I have recorded video/movie clips mostly from online sources. I have never had problems playing these back until now in all my previous Macs. Now some will play, others when I click the play button come up with the message "supported disc not available". Do I have to buy an old Mac computer with earlier OSX operating systems to play these again? How can I transfer the content to a form that Lion will recognize if they will not open.

Nov 24, 2009I just purchased Toast 10 Titanium Pro with the hopes of being able to burn blu-ray DVDs using my MBP which I purchased last December (2008) with a CD/DVD burner: MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868.
Do I need to purchase a special blu-ray drive (internal or external) to do this? I was told by my Apple rep that my dvd burner was fine and that I needed to use Final Cut Pro. I read that Toast 10 Titanium Pro was also compatible to make blu-ray DVDs.
MacBook :: Burning Projects To TS - VIDEO Folders On Desktop / Via Toast?
Jan 13, 2011This is my first post, so please be gentle! I have a 2006/7 White Macbook Core2Duo 2.10Ghz, and I love compiling my own movie compilations via iDVD. The problem that I have is two fold; 1. I burnt 4 episodes of a Public Domain TV Show (3 Stooges) using one of the current menus, and it compiled lovely, burn to disc and verified, but then no sound from the episodes, even though on my master PC, the sound is there, and sound is also present when I copied to my Macbook. 2. I have tried another few discs, each time iDVD states that the disc could not be verified and that the disc is unreadable. Both have been burnt at 6x (my combo/super drives max). Do I possibly need a new drive? Is it worth me burning the project to TS_VIDEO folders on my desktop then burning them via Toast? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm wanting to delve deeper into iDVD and iMovie as I think they are spot on programs.

Aug 12, 2010I think I have found a flaw in OSX 10.6.4 file copying..I normall back up my files, by dragging from a folder on my HD to an identical folder on my external HD.The folder I am copying has 86 files in it, but there are only about two dozen new files added since my last back up.I have been telling it by the dialogue box, not to replace identical files in the back up folder, and clicking the check box to apply to all."but when I press the dont copy button, in the copy progress box it says it is copying 86 files. I first used the convert option on roxio toast and this procedure took almost 2 hours. Then out of curiosity i did the same thing on handbrake. Handbrake only took 15 minutes. Also the quality from the handbrake app looks a whole lot better. So i guess my question is why is handbrake so much better with a free app?

I reinstalled it twice, threw out the preferences, tried launching it from different users (including Administrator), repaired disk permissions, ran Disk Warrior to rebuild directories... Toast still won't launch. So, I turned to the Disk Utility to try and burn a disk, the "Burn" button is always greyed-out. Serious Voodoo, I can't burn a thing even if I were a fire bug.

Oct 12, 2008I had Toast 6, and it worked fine on my Pioneer DVR-112 for the last couple of years.
I just upgraded to Toast 9 Titanium, and it's now rejecting almost all the blank DVD-Rs that I try to record to.
"insert blank media."
But I know the spindle of Verbatim DVD-Rs ARE blank, and good quality.
Going back to Toast 6 works fine. It's just Toast 9 that complains.
