I only have one email account, a Hotmail one, and I linked it up with my Mail account. However, I went into my Hotmail account and read/deleted some messages, but when I looked back in Mail, the messages I had read were still marked unread, and the messages I have deleted were still there! I have hit Synchronize with Hotmail and receive all new messages, but they are still there!

But when I send a e-mail from my hotmail account from another computer, the email I've sent, wont appear in the 'sent' box of apple mail. Is there a possibility to sync my hotmail account entirely? I have started using ‘mail’ for the first time, and have successfully imported 4 mailboxes into the program. I have two issues which I would be grateful for help with. I have browsed the forums used the ‘express lane’ through Apple, but to no avail: There is no ‘trash’ can. I have deleted several messages, but I don’t know where they have gone. When I check preferences, the tickbox to send items to the ‘trash’ can is ticked for each mailbox.Â
My work mailbox is successfully incorporated into ‘mail’, inclusive of mailbox subfolders, which are showing in the mailbox pane also. Lovely so far. My problem is that this has not happened for my imported ‘hotmail’ mailbox; my subfolders are not listed for this account.Â

I just received my Macbook Pro 2 days ago, I updated everything that needed to be updated. Now, I got a Yahoo! Mail Plus just so I can sync it onto mail, although I found out you can't sync folders which sucks, but whatever. My problems is the following: If I read my emails on my iphone, or even a regular pc using firefox or something, when I go into mail on my mac, all those messages still show as unread. And messages that I have deleted are appearing again.

I have the newest version of Apple Mail and I am syncing it with an IMAP account. Everything works fine so far. I had to delete all my mails on the provider server because I reached the storage limit. So I saved all my mails on my mac from the apple mail first and then I deleted all my mails on the server. After deleting all mails on the server, I putted back my old mails into APPLE MAIL, but it immediately deleted all my mails in APPLE MAIL after syncing with the server. So my question. How can I place my old mails back into APPLE MAIL without it deleting my local mails when it is syncing with the server?

We have been using the Macmail facility on a Macbook Air (running Mavericks) to connect to a hotmail account and an MSN account, which are both set up as POP and have been working fine. However, for some reason we now keep receiving a pop up saying that it can't connect and prompts us to enter the passwords? The passwords have not changed and we can access the accounts through a browser and our Android phones fine, it just seems to be Macmail that has trouble connecting. Every now and again it'll suddenly connect and collect new mail but then it'll drop out again and ask for passwords. It's most annoying.Â
