According to my Activity Monitor I have very little space left in my Hard Drive. I have cleaned up and deleted all my photos and movie clips,but deleting some projects in iMovie HD would really help, yet I can't seem to work out how to delete them.

I have imovie 08 on my laptop. I am a teacher and the kids did a project on their computers. I downloaded them to my portable external drive and now want to burn them. I am having a difficult time importing them into imovie.

In starting new Xcode projects, errors occur or appear to occur. How can I delete or remove all the related files so I can start over? Now I just start over with a new name and all those trash files build up. I would like to remove some projects, complete or not, and all related files from the computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've created an iMovie that's full of transitions, effects, and titles. Now I have a problem that I found a typo in one of the titles, and I want to go back and change it. One problem, it's in a clip that has a transition, and trying to delete the transition crashed iMovie. (A nice generic 'The application iMovieHD quit unexpectedly.') This is with iMovie 5.0.2 on OS X 10.4.3, on two separate computers. (The two in my .sig)
Short description: So, to start from the beginning, I have a 'source' clip. I then added a title to this clip (Music Video style.) Then I used the 'slow' function to slow the clip to 1/3 normal speed. Finally, I transitioned from this clip to the next clip with a 1 second-long dissolve. (The next clip has the same type of title and slow done to it, only with different text.)
Excrutiatingly long description: This clip has no transition leading in (although there is a clip before it,) and the clip following has no transition leading out. (So these two clips could be considered to be a single group that could theoretically be taken separately from the rest of the movie.) Trying to remove a similar transition from similar clips in the movie also fails. (The movie consists of 20 clips from DV, each of the 20 with the same type of title, each with the same 1/3 slowdown, paired up with a dissolve transition between the pairs. The clips are in groups of four, with a black intro text at the beginning of each group, a fade from black into the first clip, followed by two transitioned clips, two more transitioned clips, a third set of transitioned clips, and a clip that fades to black, then a 'postscript' text. Then the cycle starts again, five groups like this in a row.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to get IMovie to recognize that I changed the dates of movie clips that I had to import into IPhoto. Subsequently I deleted an event in IPhoto and the darn thing still appeared in IMovie so that option of just deleting and starting all over again seems not to work. (I did not go into trash and really delete it so IMovie might just follow the clips to Trash!) I happened to find that in the Iphoto Library is a file called IMovie Data (In Thumbnails file folder). If I delete that file, will it cause IMovie to regenerate the thumbnails and put all of my photos and clips in the data order I now have corrected in IPhoto?

i have maybe 30 - 40 currently active projects. These range from re-styling my home, writing essays, organising exhibitions at work, running budgets etc.
Currently I use a combination of OmniFocus, iCal, folders, Mail. OmniFocus is great for my task lists but I'm looking for an app that would allow me to see, for each project, all the relevant source material: pdfs, docs, images, etc
Every time I open imovie it works well enough, until i try and record my voice. It automaticaly shuts down imovie, and really frustrates my teacher and I. It's imovie 4.

View 4 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me if there is a good notes application that lets me organise notes into categories/projects/folders. I am looking for something that has both a mac and an iphone version and will sync multiple macs and iPhone over the web using mobile me for example.
I'm not looking for a task manager - I'm already using omnifocus for that and in an ideal world I am looking for something very similar to omnifocus but that is notes based rather than task based.
I'm not looking for a files/documents depository either - I use Evernote for that.
Just need simple text notes..
Edit - I have found Soho Notes which basically does what I want, (mac client, iphone client, notes in folders, mobile me sync) but I find the interface a bit cheesy with all those icons...ideally looking for something a bit more minimalist - I like the look of Mori and Mark/space Notebook but they don't have iphone versions...
Edit2 - Having looked further into Soho Notes, there seems to be a lot of complaints about the syncing and corrupt databases...I have also looked at MacJournal which is along the lines of what I'm after but again quite a lot people having problems with the sync by the sound of it so still looking...

I know that 10.1 uses libraries and events etc are all inside, but I can't find PORJECTS.  I was working on a project that is 90 minutes long but I only wanted to export 60 minutes so I delted the last 30 minutes to COMMAND Z after export which has worked many many times, but the disck ejected by mistake right after the export so i had to restart and FCXP autosaves the projects so now it only opens the 60 minutes and not the 90 minutes I have worked on.Â
So where is the backup projects so I can either copy the older poject before crash or restore it?Â
Can i create my own FCP X Projects file? I'm new to FCP X and the training I'm on said i should have a project and events folder in but I've only seen the FCP X Events file. I'm afraid that these folders may not be able to communicate properly?

I have a lot of storage space on my computer, but i still can't start a new project. I do command N or File --> New Project and it just makes a sad little bloop and doesn't do anything. It doesn't give me message or anything on why i can't start a new project.

I have a G4 laptop with Airport and bluetooth, and have just bought a MacPro which needs to go back because it's faulty. Problem is, they say the bluetooth module is not available anymore for my replacement MacPro and I didnt order a airport either, Im not to fussed about the wireless keyboard + mouse but I was going to use bluetooth to transfer files and share the internet connection from the G4 when needed (The MacPro dosnt need constant connection, only for updating, registering etc). Now, getting the replacement macpro has already taken about 3 hours of phone calls so im not sure if its worth trying to get the bluetooth for what its worth, I dont know if this is even the best way to share files and connection? Would using the ethernet be easier, I assume I would still need a hub like with PCs? Is it possible to use a cheap 2-4 port hub or do I need an expensive mac one? Or should I press them for an airport?

I have done this for one project BUT when I try and delete the original project it tells me I will lose all my photos which have been moved...

I have resqued all my photos from my back up, and I was making one single library but I decided to make a different library for " my trips' .. But.... I'm working on a large project. Every time I add a new video or audio file to a Library (each Library has only one Event - so I can keep my Libraries relatively small) it seems I have to go digging through all the previous files to find the newly imported one.Â

I have one of the fastest macs available at the moment with full RAM and this new update is crippling my machine. I first dealt with the audio plug ins issue - then deleted those - now I have full functionality BUT - an incredibly slow export time on a 7 minute timeline. This thing should be zippy. I think this update is not so great.
