At first for the first 30 minutes all ok, then after a while the my whole computer and the audio jumps, safari is using 120% and finally the audio starts crackles and this includes all sound even itunes, the only way to stop it is to put my laptop to sleep .

I tried watching HD youtube videos on the highest end Air (rev B 1.8 ghz / 128 ssd) and on the lowest end Macbook and Pro. I let the videos fully load before watching them to eliminate variances in network lag. Please do the same if you wish to verify the results.
The MBA stuttered every few seconds throughout the video. The MB and MBP unibody machines were able to play the video without stutter. CPU use on the MBA fluctuated between about 130 - 170% while it was about 130 - 140% on the MB and MBP according to activity monitor. What are your results with rev A and rev B MBA machines on the following short HD video? Does it stutter for you or are you able to watch the full video without any stutter? YouTube has stripped the audio because on some parts of the video there is background music. I would really like to be able to watch/download this video with the audio - does anyone know a way to get around this?
fwiw: I don't have the original file, and downloading the video via pwnYouTube results in a silent mp4 file.

When watching a 720p video on Youtube, my Mac jumps to like 50-60% CPU usage. The frame rate slows and is almost unbearable to watch. I have also noticed that if I leave my MBP on for like >3 days then sooner or later my computer will get really sluggish and unresponsive. I end up having to restart because the CPU is going so insanely high. Okay, as I write this, I am having huge CPU jumps while doing nothing but typing this. Yes, Youtube is open in another window, but still.

Safari keeps crashing when I watch video's on youtube.,
When I go to YouTube to look at any video with Safari ( 5.1.7 ) on my iMac the video never loads up correctly. I try to pause the video to let it load up but the video won't pause right away. Then I get the spinning beach ball. The video will not play until the entire page is loaded and the video has to be loaded before it will play correctly. This has been going on for at least four or five months. Now if I use Firefox ( 4.0 ) there is no problem at all. I don't want to use Safari for everything and then use Firefox just to look at YouTube.

Recently I started have this issue on Youtube where I'm on a vid page and when I try to back out for some reason safari starts downloading the vid in mp4 format! Sometimes so fast I cannot stop it! Also when I just click on a vid thumbnail this will sometimes happen.

View 8 Replies View RelatedOne day I had to look for a web page that only supporst firefox or explorer, I do not like other browser but safari, so I had to install that **** firefox, once I checcked that page, (an official page for governement) I uninstalled firefox, I do not like it and I rather my safari, suddenly I cannot watch video on youtube using my safari browser, some videos I can watch and a lot of them I cannot, videos that I have watched before, I checked my other mac wich is like a twin of mine only less ram and It works perfect on youtube.

It seems whenever I launch a youtube video, there is a tremendous lag that occurs for a good 30 seconds before my video is able to be seen. It completely locks up my browser and freezes. Thought it was my iMac at first, buy Firefox works fine. I reset everything on Safari and still nothing.

I just got my new MacBook Pro and am already having annoying issues. For some reason, Safari fails to show video in web pages. For instance, videos from apple (any of them, including trailers). I get the controls and audio - but instead of video, just a blank screen. I'm using Snow Leopard. Looks like a problem with quicktime. I can see youtube videos, for instance. In Firefox, it asks me to download a plug-in to see the videos, but it can't find any.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWith Handbrake (I'm running a nightly beta build, but it's proven to be stable so I doubt it's the problem) the audio of DVD quality videos is severely (several seconds) out of sync. With HD TV shows under my own custom iPad preset it encodes beautifully, but if it's simply SD the audio is off in both normal profile, universal and AppleTV. The file itself is fine as I've tested, but it never encodes the video properly.
