Safari will not play the audio on Youtube videos. I unenrolled from the Safari HTML5 study (found as an answer to another question), but that did not work. Audio plays on Firefox.

I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and Safari won't play any youtube videos on youtube. However on some other sites linked videos will play. I've tried (multiple times) to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash Player to no avail.

Lately I've been having trouble watching videos on YouTube. They stop and stutter a lot, to the point where I have to give up. At first I discovered that The Google had put me in their HTML5 beta program unbeknownst to me. That was causing some problems as well so I opted out of it for the time being. Â
I fired up Activity Viewer and saw that when I'm experiencing the problem the process called QTKitsever -(703) Safari Web Content is maxing out my CPU bringing my Macbook Pro to a screaching halt (note I checked a second time and the -(703) had changed to -(812) for some reason). Safari seems to work fine otherwise, but as soon as I go to YouTube and try to watch a video the process kicks in and my Mac chokes.Â

I can't play YouTube videos on Safari any more. I have noticed that I can play videos on Safari but not on YouTube. When atempting to watch a video on You Tube it won't finish loading. It appears to load at first evenutally stops before the video can play. I then receive the "Plug-in Failure" message. I am using Safari 5.1.7 on Mac OS X 10.7.4. I believe I am using the latest version of Abobe Flash Player, which I downloaded when I first noticed the problem.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am on an older computer system OX 10.4.11 and safari has made my computer unusable it crashes everytime I try to do anything especially when I try to watch a youtube movie and/or even try to open a youtube account. I have tried to suggestions on the forum i.e. clean up cache, reset safari, clean up cookies, etc., etc. but my computer still crashes with Safari. I tried to upload the 4.1.3 which I understand is the newest version my computer can take and reboot my computer but again safari crashes and I cannot get into youtube.Â

It's like 80% of the time, I would open a video on youtube and the video would seem to play normally. The buffering bar (gray bar) would move before the red one and the video plays normally. But around 20seconds to a minute after that, the video would stop playing and both the gray and red bars would be at the beginning of the video and the spinning thingamajig would be there and the video cannot be played at all. This started about 2 months ago. It progressed from only a few videos but now I can't even watch a trailer properly.
I have the latest safari version and everything in my mac is up to date.

I have just purchase a new Mac Book pro 15" and find that Adobe Flash Player won't download onto it.Â
Without it Youtube content does not play when I am running Safari. Is there any way round this, or is Youtube off limits to Apple owners when running Safari.
At first for the first 30 minutes all ok, then after a while the my whole computer and the audio jumps, safari is using 120% and finally the audio starts crackles and this includes all sound even itunes, the only way to stop it is to put my laptop to sleep .

If I click on it it takes me to Adobe site to update Flash. I updated but still no videos. I put YouTube on the Whitelist in clicktoflash but i still get the upgrade flash message. Does anyone else know what may be causing the problem? Lastest Flash, Click2Flash, Safari and SnowLeopard.

The problem I am having is that since I recently updated Safari, I cannot run Youtube videos. Every time I try watching one, the page crashes. I know I am not alone here and I am surprised Apple has not approached this situation yet. I have tried running youtube videos on Firefox and have had no problems doing so, thus I figure it must be Safari. I've tried running safari in 32 bit mode and that is also not fine. I have emptied the cache and reset Safari as well but still no go.

i have an Airport express hooked up to my Harman/Kardon soundstiks II.
My iTunes plays fine, but everything else plays on the computer speakers, which are not as fun.
does any one know how to get it so that all my audio plays through Airport to speakers, because I'm on a MBP, so being tied to the speakers is inconvenient.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthis is a weird one. I come across videos on Youtube that will play for like the first 10 seconds, then they just stop. No more downloading...no activity on my internet connection at all. I can pull the slider forward a little and it will again play for another 10 seconds or so. But this doesn't happen on every video. Some videos play fine from start to finish...though if one is playing fine and I try to slide the video ahead the video stops and I can't get it to start up again until I reload the page. Ok, so I'm thinking it's the new Safari with Leopard, so I fire up Firefox and the SAME thing happens.

I am trying to play a .avi video on my MAC that was originally in .rar compressed format. I opened it in VLC, and the audio wont play.. so i checked the info and saw that:
video codec: XVID
audio codec: mpga
I have perian downloaded.. it doesnt seem to be doing anyting. I dont know if i've missed something in my extracting process of the .rar file.
