Dec 3, 2014My contacts are no longer syncing from my iMac to my iPhone, however they ARE syncing from my iPhone to my iMac. Both are signed in to the same iCloud account and both have contacts selected. This is fairly recent, possibly when I updated to Yosemite. What am I missing?

Dec 3, 2014The iPhone is recognized but I can not get a connection. It says Bluetooth connection is not available. When I look at the network prefs, The "Bluetooth PAN" says not connected and will not connect. They are on the same router and my Bluetooth mouse works fine. I simply can not get them to pair. Advanced for Bluetooth PAN has to configure using DCHP for IPv4 and Automatically for IPv6. Nothing else is on that sheet. This is a late 2012 iMac. New iPhone 5 (warranty replacement). Phone shows it's on my network. Checked computer and it's on my network.

I have no problems with regular calls this way but I can't get Facetime to make the correct tone through the # key. I've also tried Continuity Keypad and this doesn't work either. Dec 3, 2014The concept of the continuity is wonderful. I have yet to be able to make a phone call from my MBA via my iPhone 6 or to receive an iPhone 6 call via my MBA. It is all set up correctly according to Apple and several other articles.  Â
When a call comes in, I get the alert on the MBA and when I click answer, it says call failed. I then lose that call entirely and cannot even grab it on my iPhone 6. I get the same response when trying to dial OUT from my MBA.Â

Dec 6, 2014Yesterday my iPhone abruptly shut off. I thought it was dead but when I plugged it in it said it had battery. Now it will only turn on when I have it plugged into the wall and if I unplug it it'll immediately shut down. Also when it turns on it won't connect to Wifi and cellular service just says "Searching..." so its essentially useless. I'm wondering if theres a way to get my messages on iMessage on my Mac if I don't have it connected to my number yet and I can't access my phone to connect them.Â

Dec 7, 2014How to add an Exchange account to my Mail program. When I open Mail>Preferences>Accounts then hit + to add a new account, then choose "Exchange", it asks for name, e-mail and password.
Should this be my Exchange mail, or my iCloud? I ask because when I input the Exchange e-mail address, I get the message "Please fill out the field "E-mail address" correctlyÂ
I've double checked, the domain is correct, as is the address, so I don't understand why I can't add the account.

OS X Yosemite :: IMessage Deleted On MBP Does Not Delete On IPhone 5
Dec 1, 2014My problem is related to the iMessage app on my iPhone 5 and MBP Retina. I have not been able to find a suitable answer to this problem in the Apple discussions, however there are discussions relating to syncing of messages, or the lack thereof, but that's not my problem. My problem has to do with deleting messages from one device and then those message being deleted on the other device.Â
Both devices, iPhone 5 and 15" MBP Retina are up to date (iOS 8.1.1 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.1).Â
I can send and receive iMessage and SMS texts from both my iPhone as well as the Mac. The synchronization works beautifully!Â
My problem is this. When I delete a conversation from the message app on the MBP it DOES NOT get deleted on the iPhone iMessage app. Likewise a conversation that is deleted from the iPhone DOES NOT get deleted from the MBP message app. I have tested this by sending a message to myself, which showed up on both devices. I could converse all day long with myself (bad habit!) from both the iPhone and MBP, but when the message was deleted from one device it did not get deleted from the other device. Very annoying!Â
As an additional issue, under Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding my MBP appears twice and only one can be turned on at a time. How can I delete the other device? I can't find where that is set up.Â

When i setup Messages on my Mac a couple of months ago all conversations were synced up between all 3 devices. i've continued many of those conversations on my iPad and iPhone but when I opened Messages on my Mac today i noticed that they had stopped syncing about 2 weeks ago. Now when i try to send a message from my Mac it sends it as SMS not as iMessage. how to correct both the SMS issue but more importantly the sync?Â

Aug 14, 2008Would anyone know an explanation for a strange problem I have had on several machines with QuickTime 4 & 5. It happened originally with our original first model bondi-blue iMac. On installing either of the two programmes to replace QT 3, I found that every other picture clicked on would receive the answer that QT could not find an appropriate decompresser. If one then clicked on the same picture twice (or on any other picture at all) the original picture or the second picture would open without complaint. The ability to open and the failure to do so were always in rigid succession. If one selected 20 pics at once to open, the ability to do so and the failure followed the same rigid pattern. +-+-+-+-+- etc. But the video viewer installed with 4 or 5 worked fine.
The problem is still topical as I have a PowerMac 7100 running OS 8.5 and today I installed QT 5 on it, and immediately the same alternate problem started.
