My problem is related to the iMessage app on my iPhone 5 and MBP Retina. I have not been able to find a suitable answer to this problem in the Apple discussions, however there are discussions relating to syncing of messages, or the lack thereof, but that's not my problem. My problem has to do with deleting messages from one device and then those message being deleted on the other device.Â
Both devices, iPhone 5 and 15" MBP Retina are up to date (iOS 8.1.1 and OS X Yosemite 10.10.1).Â
I can send and receive iMessage and SMS texts from both my iPhone as well as the Mac. The synchronization works beautifully!Â
My problem is this. When I delete a conversation from the message app on the MBP it DOES NOT get deleted on the iPhone iMessage app. Likewise a conversation that is deleted from the iPhone DOES NOT get deleted from the MBP message app. I have tested this by sending a message to myself, which showed up on both devices. I could converse all day long with myself (bad habit!) from both the iPhone and MBP, but when the message was deleted from one device it did not get deleted from the other device. Very annoying!Â
As an additional issue, under Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding my MBP appears twice and only one can be turned on at a time. How can I delete the other device? I can't find where that is set up.Â

View 10 Replies View RelatedI imported a photo into iPhoto. If I click on it, click actions and share to Photostream, I get a message saying it is already in Photostream. Yet, it does not show up in the iPhoto Photostream folder on my Mac. Nor does it show up in my iPhone Photostream folder. I believe I have iCloud set up properly on both devices and have configured iPhoto correctly. Is there something I can do to force a sync?

I have a 250gb external which i have been using to back up with time machine, done it several times over a few months.
Now there is like 70gb left on the external, and when i try to back up, it says failed, not enough space on external.
But i thought when there is not enough space, it simply deletes and backs over older time machine backups.
I keep getting the error saying that my backup will not fit in the backup volume, but shouldn't Time Machine automatically delete old backups to make room for new ones?

my last PC is broken and I lost all my photos and didnt have them backed up, My New Laptop is a Mac Pro.. but cant work out how to get old photos which are already in albums from my iphone to my Iphoto Library

Is is possible to access photos on an iPhone that were taken more than 30 days ago. I had my iPhone stolen, I'd used it for 6 months without ever syncing it to any computer, and since it was nicked I bought a MacBook Pro in hopes that through iCloud I could get all the data from my phone but only a few recent photos showed up in Photo Stream, not all the others. I have my iMac here which I use to Sync my iPhone 6 Plus - This iMac 'belongs' to my iPhone 6 plus if you know what I mean.. Â
Now a friend of mine who does not own a computer, just bought an iPhone 6 and wants to move all the photos form his old iPhone 4S to the new Phone.. Â
So.. Â I imported all his Photos to iPhoto on my iMac. Â
Now when I open up iTunes on my iMac it immediately says to me 'Welcome to you new iPhone'.. and wants me to continue. Â
What do I do from here? I want to use iTunes to move all the photos from the iPhoto event I created to his new phone and this is a one off.. Â
Is it possible to do this without messing up any future syncing between my own iMac and Phone??Â
Or is there some other way I can get his Photos from iPhoto on to his Phone? I am assuming that iTunes is the only way without of course having to deal with third party apps.

I use Preview to resize my photos depending on where I'm posting or sending to. Since I've downloaded Yosemite I will resize photo and it's not working. I have my photos in iCloud drive & am working between an iMac and a iMac Pro. I'm trying to resize to send out to have printed vs. at home printing. This problem has only happened since upgrading to Yosemite.

Like all other Macbook Air users I covet space so when I see 4.5GB is used by photos (About My Mac) and I don't knowingly have any photos stored. iphoto is empty. Photostream has been stopped. My e-mail is via Gmail therefore anything stored is on the web. I can't beleive Mac's screensavers account for 4.5GB. So, how do I recover this space.
