So my Macbook Pro is coming and it's a 15in Core Duo 2.16Ghz with 2 cores. It's already up to 2GB of Ram which seems to be the max. But the HDD is only 100GB. Is there a certain limitation I can go up or can I go has high as I want? Because I was hoping to get a 250GB which is the perfect amount.
The reason I ask this is because I heard from someone that there is a limitation.
I have a 2008 Macbook Pro 17 inch.
It has the stock 4 gb of ram, in the form of 2x 2gb of 1066 ddr3 ram.
I saw some ram from OCZ at a very good price, the OCZ3M13334G.
It is a 4gb dimm, but it is rated at 1333 ddr3.
I can get 2 of these, making 8gb for 150 euros, wich I think is a good price.
The question is if it will work good on my macbook, being 1333mhz?
I upgraded to Leopard from Tiger, and am now having a problem reading certain CD-ROMs. Each month, I receive a CD from a guitar instruction site. When I was using Tiger, I had no problems reading any of these CDs, but, since the upgrade, I've become unable to open the most recent few. They aren't even recognized by the computer, and are ejected automatically, although they work perfectly on two other Macs running the same version of Leopard. Older CDs from the same company still play fine. My drive is a Matshita DVD-R UJ-857D.

(it wasn't a mac version) Now that i've upgraded to a new Mac Pro 4,1 it has a GT120 from nvidia. I need to either get the GeForce 7800 or the GTX260 working. I've been researching and reading for almost 2 weeks now. I've tried everything I've seen and have had to reload this poor mac twice now. If all the drivers are built in, why does it only see the card as "Display" in the system profiler?
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I gave my aunt my old core duo MBP as she only surfs the web with it and it is basically useless to me. She had a iPhone 3Gs and broke it, now upgraded to the iPhone 4. I went to sync her iTunes with it and it said it requires OS X 10.5.8 which is leopard and the computer is still on 10.4.11. Is the only way to sync her phone with all of her old data thats on her iTunes to pay for leopard or snow leopard, or whats the protocol here?

so i havent used my ibook in awhile, so i ran all of my system updates (had to do it like 3 times...). i then opened my limewire, and it asked if i wanted to update, i was on a roll so why not?
i updated, restarted my computer and now when i try to open it it says
"this application requires java 1.6 or later, but only the following java versions are installed:1.5.0, 1.4.2, 1.3.1, 1.5, 1.3, 1.4. updating to a newer version of mac os x may resolve this."
i know i can update os x, but that will cost me $129!
is there anyway i can uninstall this limewire update?

I had not printed or scanned anything since then, but today I needed to do both, and they don't work. I think it has something to do with the upgrade because they were working just fine before that.

Trying to view a YourTube video on a new current iMac running 10.7.4.Video is embedded in site that I administer, so I need to check the link when I update. Get the dreaded " This video is currently unavailable" tag.The video played fine before the Safari 5.1.7 update, and plays fine on my Air and on my iPod.No other updates or software changes - only the Safari update. I upgraded yesterday, and since then my key commands no longer work. If I restart, they will work for a little while, then suddenly stop working. I cannot take screen shots, or get Expose to work with F10, F12, etc. Apple-Tab doesn't bring up the applications currently open, etc. I've searched all over for this issue, but not finding anything. I have an Intel-based iMac which I just upgraded two days ago from Snow Leopard to Lion (10.7.4). I did an upgrade-in-place (as opposed to a fresh install) and did a software update after the installation completed. I have my computer scheduled to wake up each morning at 6 a.m. When it wakes up, the sound doesn't work unless I reboot the computer. If I open up iTunes and try to play music, there is no sound (unless I reboot). The song progress meter at the top of iTunes won't even move when I hit the play button. When I open the Sound preference and click the Output tab, I do see the Headphone port and the output volume is set all the way up.

Looking at getting a 13" MPB to replace my aging Macbook. I am aware of the imminent arrival of the next gen next year, but still seriously considering getting a current gen.
Anyway, I am debating between getting the 2.66GHz version with 4GB RAM and the 2.4GHz version with 8GB RAM. I already have a 500GB 7200rpm HDD which I will transplant into it. Some stage in the next year or so I will look into getting an SSD and optibay for it.
I know that if I get the faster processor I can upgrade the RAM at a later date, but is the faster processor worth the money, or would I be better spending on RAM?

Today, after checking and installing upgrades to my iMac OS X, I'm seeing a pop-up saying 'my existing messages need to be upgraded the first time I use Mail again." I'm not sure what it intends to do to my Mail messages and I'm slightly fearful because many of them are Outlook Express messages that were transferred from my old PC. I went to BB and bought the upgrade for my MBP running Leopard but I decided I would try to install it on my Tiger running iMac almost possitive it would not work. It however worked and even installed faster (1/3 the time) of my MBP with more Ram and better processor. So it is definitely done

Even when I hold Caps lock for a few seconds, nothing happens. If I physically connect an apple keyboard via usb to my computer, caps lock doesn't work.
