i was searching for a programm that allowes you to hide a folder so that it is still clickable... all i found where lots of programms that made the folder invisible but after they where invisible i couldnt click on them anymore.
is it possible to make a folder invisible and place it at some spot on the screen i remember and when i click on that spot on the screen where the invisible folder is that the folder would open?
can I delete the folder home or net?Or is it possible to make the 2 folders invisible? I use OS lion10.7.3.

I noticed this after the 10.5.3 upgrade. Inside the applications folder there is an invisible file (no icon) labeled Applications Folder. Get Info reveals it to be a unix executable file. I'm a newbie, and not sure what it means.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSomehow, when installing RealPlayer I managed to get something called RealNetwork (a Folder full of files) installed in my User Library. It was 395.62 GB so must have been some sort of malware. I was able to find it and delete it from my hard drive. BUT I had backed up my hard drive to a non-bootable backup the day before so that file is still in the invisible Library folder on that drive, taking up almost 400 GB there, too.
How to delete it from the backup drive since I can't boot that drive?

In some of my folders, the inside folders appear to be blank and have no text. When I click on the folder icon, the name of the folder is there, but there appears to be a hard return at the end of the text. When I delete the hard return, the text becomes visible.
Rather than go to each folder and do this - why this is happening, and how to correct all the folders wherever they may be on any disk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn windoze I can type, for example person@server.com?subject=Fish&body=Cod and when I send the email with that in, the person I send it to can just click the link and it will: create a new email put the person it goes to in the 'to' field put the subject in the subject field put the word 'cod' into the body However, when I do this in snow leopard, I just get an unclickable line of stuff, much as you have probably viewed above. Also, when someone sends me an email with a similar link, it's also not clickable and I have to laboriously create a new email with all the fields remembered and filled and gone back to and well you get the picture. How do I make it clickable? It's not the same as a clickable URL, I've discovered, so that didn't work.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWell this a new one. Any time there's an element in the bottom 100 pixels or so of my screen, I can't click on it. It's in any application. I first noticed it in Safari, but I've tested it in Finder, Photoshop, you name it. In Safari it's mostly solvable because I can just scroll the page up further and click on the link.If it's a link I'm trying to click and it has a hover property, the link will change color (or underline, or whatever) on hover. I just can't click on anything.Another interesting thing to note is that it's things that are in their own windows, I guess. The dock works and my Adium buddy list is fine as well (I keep it in the bottom left corner).

Sometimes I'd like to create an aliases/shortcuts from an application which resides within a folder and place that alias inside the root of the /Applications/ folder instead. However, for some reason I can't do this on my wife's Mac running Leopard 10.5.8.
So instead of getting a "green arrow" type icon whenever I click the app's icon while holding down ALT and CMD I now get a white circle with a line over it, apparently indicating that this is something I can't do. I believe I checked my drive's permissions (using "Disk utility") but found no errors (or had the errors fixed), so what could be the problem?
By the way, I've also noticed that I'm asked to verify (with the user-login password) if I want to delete (put an application in the trash) something from inside the Applications folder. Is this normal? I'm not used to this from MacOSX Tiger 10.4.
I don't know how to make a folder password protected, I know how in OS 9, but, I haven't had the need forever and now I do, I'm runnign Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.3. What I need to have protected is a folder that holds a backup of my website.

Since I installed Yosemite, I cannot right click on the desktop to make a folder, I cannot drag any files or folders or anything to it or use it at all. It's nothing but a slate and useless. I figured it was a bad install so I reinstalled it today and got the same behavior. I wish I could revert to Mavericks and I tried with time machine but it wouldn't let me.
