My 13" White MacBook has been great, except for the unending problem of initial keystrokes occasionally failing to register. This bug has persisted (for me) through all the Leopard updates and keyboard firmware updates. I hope Snow Leopard fixes this.
View 8 RepliesI am having trouble getting comfortable with NeoOffice. One of the problems is the Tab key. I enter a lot of data in spreadsheets. I enter something, quickly tab over, enter something else, tab over, etc. When I enter text, the spreadsheet gives a suggestion. In Excel, the suggestion is accepted once I tab over. With this program, tabbing just switches between all of the suggestions. To move to the next cell, I have to use the right arrow key. Is there a way around this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up Spaces. Pressing F8 and moving some things around. I can switch spaces via F8 and via the menu bar applet. However, I have not found a way to get the Ctrl-arrow keys to Ctrl-number keys to have any effect, even after playing around with all the settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad to reinstall 10.6.2 on IMac after erasing disk for an earlier problem with Adobe CS4 installation. The Adobe Tech Support could offer no help with all log files submitted and as a last resort suggested I erase the internal drive and reinstall system and applications. It worked. But: Two problems encountered so far are : Inability to assign F13 key "to look up dictionary" (default being command -control-D) and the F11 and F12 keys no longer control sound volume as they all did before the reinstallation. I am unable to assign the keys in the System Preferences as suggested by Apple.

For some reason many of my typing includes double letters not wanted, like a double "i" (ii) as in "askiing". My spell checker does not pickk up on this all the time. Have I told the Mac to ignore double i's or something? I have it set to red-underline mis-spelled words as I type. It has underlined both 'askiing' and 'pickk' words above, but in emails it does not.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOver the last few days I've noticed a problem with missing icons. It seems to mainly effect icons in the Trash but I have one or two missing icons for videos and apps within the Finder and on the Desktop. The icon is completely gone - I have to click on the filename to select it. Quicklook works OK (for video).
I can't think of anything I've installed that would have done it except Onyx, but I haven't run that in weeks. I did repair permissions a few days ago but I doubt that could break this. It persists after a reboot. I can't get it to happen on command, it just randomly occurs. Creating a New Folder always works OK.
I clicked the little jellybean thing on the top right, and it only makes the menubar appear and disappear, but the sidebar is still gone.i don't have a little dot on the left hand side so i have nothing to drag. i checked my finder preferences and the folders are still checked.but even after all that... still no side bar.

It can be done by clicking the master tab, then going to the Input 1-2 column setting and then clicking setting - mastering, etc.When I first did this a few weeks ago, there were many options such as hip hop mastering, electronic mastering, etc.Now, when I do so, I have different - much less enticing options and have no idea where the good ones went.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSome time ago I started using Pathfinder and after some time my HDD icon disappeared. I didn't make much out of it then, but now I'm tired of Pathfinder and I want everything back to normal.
My HDD icon, CD's and external volumes that I connect doesn't show. Not screenshots either, or other types of files.
As you can see there is nothing in the upper right corner.
What I've tried:
A Apple-guide where I install Xcode--->Run some sudo command in Terminal--->Reboot, but it didn't work.
Tried to find my HDD in Finder and drag it onto the desktop, but no success.
Opened Pathfinder again and went to "/volumes" and found out that the volumes folder was hidden. I "unhid" it, reboot, but still the same.

And when they say where we edit the PATH in the .profile, I can't find it... Even with "ls -a"
I'm newbie in these stuff...
Just wondering what to do with the folders now they are on teh desk top. Not really sure if this worked or not!

cbook today and all of my wallpapers have disappeared and I'm left with a blue background. In the categories (e.g. nature, plants, black and white etc) there are no files. I have two accounts on the machine and both accounts do not have any wallpaper files.

They also don't show up in the Command-Tab floater window. I've tried logging out and rebooting but the problem persists.

I have a MacPro with 6 Gb memory installed, by a Mac authorized facility. At times, only 4 Gb is shown as available memory. I hav to reset the SMU, which regains the lost memory. I have to do this every couple of weeks.

I am including a screen shot. A short while ago you would have been able to see a folder icon above the name. Now you only see the desktop background.

View 3 Replies View Relatedfar the first thing that I have noticed that is buggy is that all my menu bar items are missing. Spotlight appears for two seconds then disappears. I have tried enabling everything in system preferences but when I go into some of the preferences it freezes up. I have also removed all third party apps from the menu bar. I am currently doing a Disk Permission check and repair if needed but this has me thinking this is not going to be a smooth transition like it was from Tiger to Leopard.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStrange, after the upgrade looking at the Accounts Prefpane for my primary (admin) user, it shows only my user and nothing under the "Other Accounts" header. Logging in as the other users on the box, everything shows as normal. Not sure of the fix yet (about to start removing .plists), but in case others come across this issue, check back.
