OS X V10.7 Lion :: Messages Beta Missing Features?
Feb 16, 2012What I am missing in messages beta is the possibility to see who of your contacts have the application, or are using a device with IOS 5.Now you write the message, and when you want to send it, yu find out that the people are unavailable to imessage. Big advantage of whatsapp or messaging through viber/Skype is that you can see the contacts which uses the application.

MacBook Pro :: Spasmodically Receiving Emails / Missing Important Messages
Sep 11, 2014I only receive my emails spasmodically, and often don't receive the important stuff! I would receive all emails on each of my devices, using Mail (often annoying as I would have to delete it 4 times) but at least it ensured that I didn't miss anything. Â
Now I only receive the messages that Mail wants me to get.... and not all of them, and once it has come down on one device, it doesn't appear on any of the others. I have deleted accounts and re added them, without any change. I have contacted my internet provider, and checked all the settings, and they appear correct (although my emails don't stay on the server as a backup option).Â

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail Is Missing Gmail Label Folders And Labeled Messages
Mar 31, 2012I've got a bunch of client folders and subfolders (labels on gmail). I'm trying to switch to mac in the office and set up an imap account. In the last hour searching the archives here, the subfolders in the account have appeared, disappeared, back and forth. Right now they're gone. They have never had any of the messages in them on the mac. There is no little triangle to turn.
Here's what I have done so far:
- set the folders to show in IMAP
- verified the folders/labels and their contents are on the server, my pc, my iphone
- completely deleted and recreated the account in Mail and System Preferences 3 times
- they also don't show in the [Gmail] folder down below
- let it completely sync overnight last night (problem existed yesterday too)

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Mail - Number Of Unread Messages Missing In Mailbox List?
May 19, 2012Although the number of unread messages is properly shown under Inbox on the Mailboxes list next to two of my three Mail accounts, the other one shows none when there some. The quantity is also missing from the total number of messages next to Inbox when I collapse the list. This was working fine for many years.Â

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Exchange Account "Sent" Messages Missing?
May 9, 2012On Lion Mail (5.2) I have an Exchange (2010) account and everything is working well other than my "Sent" messages folder. There are many messages in my "Sent Items" folder in webmail (as well as when connected with other mail clients, Outlook, Evolution etc.) that do not show up in my "Sent" folder in Mail.app. Interestingly, when I send a message with Mail.app, it drops it in the "Sent" folder, and these show up just fine in webmail, so the "Sent" --> "Sent Items" mapping appears to be correct. Is there any way that I can get all of my sent messages to show up correctly?

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mail Shows Number Of Unread Messages But No Messages?
Jun 30, 2012The Apple Mail on my son's iMac 5, running OS X 10.6.8, shows the number of unread messages (9), but if I click on InBox, the messages themselves don't show up in the main window. This suddenly happened, and none of his old, read messages show up either. But he can access them just fine from his iPod, or through his Network Solutions web mail interface. Also, in Mail we can search part of his email address, and all the messages show up, read and unread! He has no rules set up. The connection doctor shows the connection is fine.

MacBook Pro :: Unable To Work With Messages / Apps Giving Messages
Jul 26, 2010I've been using my MacBook Pro for about five months with no problems. It's equiped with VMWare Fusion, and I do most of my work there in windows. Saturday, morning, all of a sudden, I started getting the "application quit unexpectedly message" with nearly every application I tried to open in both platforms (Safari and the entry to VMWare). I haven't added any software/hardware lately, and the computer worked well Friday evening.
Any clues as to how I might resolve the situation from here would be greatly appreciated.

Applications :: Mail Not Receiving All Messages And Not Sending Any Messages?
Jul 18, 2010I am running mac os X version 10.5.8 and I find that mail will download not all my mail and will not send from any of my mailboxes.
I have set up mail with my googlemail account my mobileme account and my yahoo accounts. all are set up as stp and I have set them up according to all the online help lines. I have had mail set up for many months now, and have been trying to fix this problem for a long time now off and on.
One thing that I have tried is changing the outgoing port number from the default to 587, but still no joy.

OS X :: Icons Missing In Finder / Apps And Video Icon Missing
Nov 30, 2010Over the last few days I've noticed a problem with missing icons. It seems to mainly effect icons in the Trash but I have one or two missing icons for videos and apps within the Finder and on the Desktop. The icon is completely gone - I have to click on the filename to select it. Quicklook works OK (for video).
I can't think of anything I've installed that would have done it except Onyx, but I haven't run that in weeks. I did repair permissions a few days ago but I doubt that could break this. It persists after a reboot. I can't get it to happen on command, it just randomly occurs. Creating a New Folder always works OK.

Dec 29, 2010I clicked the little jellybean thing on the top right, and it only makes the menubar appear and disappear, but the sidebar is still gone.i don't have a little dot on the left hand side so i have nothing to drag. i checked my finder preferences and the folders are still checked.but even after all that... still no side bar.

Jan 11, 2011I was using a program which opened my console and then I noticed in my console had messages referring to a couple of programs I removed a long time ago by dragging them to the Trash. It seems to be reporting thousands of messages every minute for one of the programs with the message "User or app not found." recurring.
This must be using resources, is there any way to stop this?

It can be done by clicking the master tab, then going to the Input 1-2 column setting and then clicking setting - mastering, etc.When I first did this a few weeks ago, there were many options such as hip hop mastering, electronic mastering, etc.Now, when I do so, I have different - much less enticing options and have no idea where the good ones went.

Nov 9, 2010So I have gmail set up on MBP 13". For some reason it keeps loading my sent items and storing them in a folder called "Recovered Messages" and it is constantly reloading this folder with items that were sent back from Oct 29th specifically one item that I keep trying to move to the trash, but it keeps trying to move it back to the recovered folder? This is screwing everything up and is not allowing any messages to be brought into the inbox, I may have screwed something up because now I can not get any new messages and am not alerted to new messages with the postage stamp icon!
So is there a way to start over from scratch? Basically just wipe out the gmail account and re-setup what I have? I can login to it using Safari and everything is fine, but that just seems like a waste when I could one-click the postage stamp and have instant access to my email. I have searched and searched and could not find anything specifically for this problem and even tried gmails website to no avail.
OS X :: Mail Won't Keep Any Of My Sent Messages?
Sep 26, 2006I've just set up Mail to use my university email account. It's an IMAP account, so all my incoming mail uses the IMAP server, and all my outgoing mail uses the SMTP server. It does everything just fine, except it won't save any of my messages into the Sent folder. I have ticked the box in Preferences in mail which asks you whether you want to save sent messages, yet it still refuses to do so.

Applications :: Where Do Messages Ago When They Are Not Sent
Dec 21, 2009I spent a long time composing a message, selected the address and hit send. Got an error message stating the message could not be sent because of a punctuation problem with the e-mail address. I realized I did use a bad address, however, I CANNOT FIND THE MESSAGE ANYWHERE. It is not in drafts, inbox, sent or anywhere else that I can find. It was a long message that took a long time to compose. This happened to me one other time, and I rewrote the message a few times until I finally figured out which address was causing the problem. Once I corrected it, the message was sent 5 times! So apparently, the message is stored somewhere. Last time the message was easy to remember. This time, it is not. I'd like to retrieve it so I can just send it to the correct address.

I've tried to log out of the iMessage account, I've tried to reset accounts on the Mac, etc. All to no avail. Messages continue to work on both my iPhone and my iPad Mini (wifi only).
