Is there any way for me to record it from the live stream while I'm gone?
Any programs out there anyone know about or anything already on the mac that'll do it.

My mac is sharing internet through it's ethernet connection and my ipod, blackberry, and friend's computers can connect via it's connection. However, the same does not go for my xbox 360. I keep getting a message saying "unable to connect to xbox live because my router can't assign an ip address" I have tried unplugging my internet for 30 seconds but it still doesn't work...neither does a direct ethernet connection.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a WDTV Live HD with the intention to stream multimedia from my Mac.
On my Mac running Snow Leopard, I enabled File Sharing using SMB for my account. However, when I'm on WDTV, in additional to the shared folder I specified, it is able to see everything on my mac - drives, folders, and documents I didn't enable for sharing.
I have a WD TV Live Plus hub on my network that I connect my WD Passport into to run my media but I want to be able to stream my media from my macbook pro on my network. From the MBP, I can see the WD but can't connect to it. I use a Belkin router. I have spoken to WD and they went back and forth.
I run OS X 10.6.4 Snow Leopard and have shared my folders to read and write.
are there any plans to release live messenger or a similar version for mac?
as ive had a look on my friends pc and it looks ok
I know we've all seen this title before, but I always find it interesting to see what Mac applications people love and couldn't live without. I had a simular thread going over at MacRumors and that came back with some great results (loads of apps I had not heard of before). I have recently posted my top 25 on my blog. Be sure to check it out to get started:No rules on price etc, just a list of great applications.

I have bought a book in which an Ubuntu Live CD is included. It is a custom copy, to be able to follow the book's tutorials. The case is that when I try to boot it, it gives me the error "/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off". I really need this particular copy of Ubuntu to work. Does somebody know of a fix? Btw, I am a total beginner when it comes to Linux & the console. The machine I am trying to get it working is a MacBook 2.4Gh bought in Aug 2008.

looking for live DJ'ing software, to initially use no physical hardware.
I was able to get into hotmail earlier today. Later, when I tried to log in to hotmail later, it wouldn't work. With my main account, it doesn't do anything except just go back to the screen to enter my password. When I try my other account, it gets to a screen that says I don't have a windows live inbox (wtf). It doesn't appear isolated to my computer, as I tried my roommates computer, and his computer just kind did nothing but go to a blank screen when I enter my password.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBasically, my old Powerbook G4's hard drive died and I figured I could just use a live cd in the meantime. Sure it takes a long time to boot up and open apps but I was just going to use it for quick web searches. So, I got the latest PPC Xubuntu ISO (9.04) and burned it to a 700meg CD-RW. It's hard to explain what happens next so I made a video. If your wondering what the loud clicky noise is when I hit the power button, it's the dead hard drive trying to work. View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to record live streaming video with sound on my laptop? Is Quicktime a program that can be used for this or is it just for viewing movies?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to setup SoundFlower properly so that I can do live streaming of audio. I have 3 (I think) audio sources:
1) My USB headset's mic
2) The people from Skype
3) My computer's audio
I can stick all those into SoundFlower, but, when doing a live stream, they can hear everything BUT me. This is because my voice isn't actually being outputted through SoundFlower. My workaround is to use Audacity to record my USB headset's mic, and playback what I'm saying while it's recording. This works, but I'll then be hearing myself talking, and there will be a delay, which is VERY annoying.
I noticed when I updated iTunes yesterday that I had a live count of my unwatched tv shows in the sidebar.

iMac (20-inch Early 2009)
• The answer is "no", Unsanity haxies are unusable with 10.7.x
• Unsanity isn't showing signs of life and, even if they revive, it may be impossible for a third party to implement haxies in 10.7+
• Apple is showing no signs of providing these functions built-in.
• Some people --including me-- are very frustrated by the lack of some functions formerly provided by these haxies.
I'm going to concentrate on the most significant issue for me and for at least some of the people on the above-referenced thread: Windowshading. How can we live without windowshading in 10.7 and beyond? Windowshading, long ago, was built in to the Mac OS. I liked having many, sometimes dozens of files open, easily identifiable, easily restored to full size, arranged on the desktop, generally approximating my workflow, without taking up more than a thin horizontal strip of the desktop for each. I liked being able to arrange these on the desktop as required by my workflow, especially when things are evolving.
Since Apple does continue to support windowshading in one 10.7 app --Stickies-- it is clear that this function still has some validity. Should this give us windowshading-wanters hope?
Probably not. I'm guessing that Apple Human Interface designers made a special exception for Stickies, as this app has doesn't save any visible files. My guess is that the HI folks feel strongly (VERY strongly) that any kind of desktop workflow-representation should be done with the file icons themselves, on the desktop or in folders. I'm guessing they see the windowshaded representations as bad compromises. I've also seen some evidence that Apple is going in the direction of reducing the distinction between "open" files and prospectively open ones. (D'oh! I wish I'd recorded some links to the articles describing this.)
Well, all in all, it seems we're not going to get windowshading. Juggling lots of open files all at once? Organizing according to workflow? What are the current options? To start: we can shove open windows partly off to the side. That's good for at most 2 or three files per screen edge, left, right, and bottom (with some interference from the Dock) and isn't necessarily so helpful as left and right-shoved files are likely difficult to identify as their titles fall off-screen.
Shrinking to the dock? Yeah, that works -- but in my view only for a very limited number of files. What about using the solution the HI folks seem to be pushing for, organizing the file icons on the desktop or inside folders? Credit where credit is due: for image files in folders, in cases in which the file icon is a representation of the image, with Finder View-->Show View Options-->Show icon preview enabled, the HI folks have provided a brilliant solution: just use the icon size slider at lower right as necessary. For most images I've worked with, the icon preview can easily be made big enough to recognize and sort each image. None of the image files need be open. Cool.
For me this applies less well to non-image files. Text: I'm imagining sorting hundreds of short files each with a brief bit of text inside (e.g. quotes) all formatted at 9 point. I don't think this will work so well: for me, such text isn't readable even at maximum icon magnification. I simply don't have enough experience with miscellaneous files that don't fit in these categories. Do "minor" 3rd party apps provide icon preview images? (Full disclosure: just now is the first time I've even tried this with non-image files. D'oh!) Another approach that works for me is to use Mission Control and multiple Desktops/Workspaces. In general, this gives me access to many more open files in workflow-related groups. In my opinion, Mission Control still needs some improvements, and I understand it doesn't work for everyone.
