OS X Mavericks :: Change Pronunciation For Text-to-speech?
Jun 28, 2014I would like to change the pronunciation of specific words that my mac reads to me, however, there does not seem to be a way to do this. Tutorials online discuss changing a setting in the VoiceOver Utility, but unfortunately this only effects voice over and not text-to-speech.

Jan 1, 2010I installed Perian the other day and decided I wanted to get rid of it. I just dragged the icon from applications as well as the dmg to the bin. Is that the correct method to 'uninstall' something?
After doing that I can still see Perian from the other section in settings as well as if I right click on a video it gives me settings for perian. How do I properly uninstall something and get rid of it from everywhere?
OS X :: Date And Time Not Correct?
Jul 9, 2009We got a refurbished Alu MB for an intern and the time is not displaying properly. If I check the "Set date & time automatically", the digital and analog clock is showing different times. See picture. Also, when I go in Time Zone, I set Eastern time, it will set it, but when I go back to preference, it sets back to GMT.
It's running 10.5.6.

Power Mac G5 :: All Settings Correct But No Sound
Dec 1, 2007I can't get any sound out of my G5. I've checked all my settings, and they're correct (I believe). I have a Texas Instruments built in sound card (TAS3004). I bought the machine a year ago used (it was a demo) and it's never had sound since I set it up.

IMac :: Right Memory With Correct Speed?
Mar 15, 2009My iMac is from 2008, the first 3.06GHz version one (with Nvidia 8800 gfx card etc). When I got this one, I read somewhere that this was the first iMac to get the bus speed 1066MHz. When I look under information, it confirms this: "Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz". I instantly upgraded the memory to 4 GB from a local computer shop back then. When I look in the information, under memory I have: "Type: "Speed: 800 MHz"". Do I have too slow memory for the computer? I mean it runs fine and everything but I'm just wondering if I could potentially have faster memory in this computer. Would it make a big difference if this was the case? When looking in computer stores I can't really find memory that has the label SO-DIMM DDR2 - 1066MHz, so maybe I have the right one?

This only happens if the app store had been previously opened to another page. If the app store is killed and then launched cold, it will load to the correct page.To test the phone simply go here on an iphone 4S: [url].. - click the button on the bottom of the page that says "Download app". The first time it should take you to the directv app page. But now, while you are on the app store navigate to any other page, then go back to Safari and click the button again. The App Store will stay on the page.

Safari :: It Does Not Display Correct Font
Jul 3, 2012I just upgraded to Snow Leopard. When I did this, it did something to the fonts displayed in Safari 5.1.7. When I go to a webpage (like someone's blog) the entire body of text is in a cursive font. I've tried emptying the cache, changing the fonts in the Preferences/Appearances tab in Safari, deleting the com.apple.Safari.plist, and also deleting duplicate fonts in my Font Book.
