OS X :: Tabbing Through Fields Skips Non Text Entry Fields?
Jun 10, 2010I can tab between text entry fields, but it won't select ratio, checkboxes, or buttons. This seems to be universal, and not program specific?

Can anyone actually get this to work? I've never seen a website, Apple's included, that let's you do this feature. Yet it's listed on Apple's webpage.
OS X :: Dock & Expose Gone As Well As Black Backgrounds In Text/dynamic Fields?
Feb 23, 2009I installed the updates yesterday and restarted. Upon restart, the dock was gone. I went into the preferences, and made sure everything was correct with the settings. Also, the background image is going bezerk, changing every 3-4 seconds, even thought it's not set to do so. Expose is not working, the "Application Switcher" (cmd + tab, sorry, don't know proper name) is not working, and there is a strange black background in nearly every window.

I've repaired permissions and restarted multiple times. i've never had this happen before...

Seems like a cookies thing but I think not because it presents me with all previous names I've used on other website's text fields before.
For example in Firefox if I go to sites I haven't visited before and I'm asked to type in my new username, as soon as I type the first letter, Firefox gives me options from previous text fields I've filled in before all over the net and unrelated to the site I'm on.

Nov 28, 2010I am trying to sort my files by date and type. I can sort by Modified Date and File Type. Every time I sort by file type, the files are listed alphabetically within their folder type lists. This is not what I want. I want to see all the .rar files in chronological order
As I recall from Windows, I can sort by Modified Date, then Type, and the files will be listed by type, and then secondarily sorted by Date. Is there a way to do this on the Mac?

Jan 7, 2011Am trying to use Mail (version 3.6 on OS 10.5.8) and when I view a message would like to be able the 'To' and 'Cc' fields without having to use Long Headers or Raw Source options (which I found under the View - Message menu). These give far too much unnecessary information, but I need to be able to easily see who else the message has been sent to. This seems really basic for an email program and I suspect it is really obvious, but I've looked everywhere and on the web with no answers!

Apr 13, 2010First off I am new to Mac's and I am trying to repartition my harddrive. i did it once before and was successful and when i tried to adjust the size, windows kept getting errors.
On the advice of my friend he told me to completely wipe out my machine and reinstall Mac OS 10.4. I have since reinstalled SL 10.4 and downloaded bootcamp. However, I do not see a boot icon in my applications or utilities folder, but I do see a disk utilities icon.
When I click that and click the only hard drive that is there and try and partition it, the slide bar will not work for me to divide the hard drive into the size i want and none of the fields or dropdown boxes will work.
MacBook Air :: Cannot Click Links Or Fields In Safari
Apr 20, 2012Just purchased a new MacBook Air for my wife. While it is a huge step-up from the previous macbook, we've run into a very frustrating problem. Every now and then Safari will no longer accept any click on links or the ability to enter data into fields. You tap and click and it's like a brick wall--no response. We've tried forcing a refresh of that page, still won't work. If I quit Safari and then go back to the page, it's works. But unless I quit the app, it just remains an unclickable webpage.Â
Any thoughts?? I've never encountered this before and it is hard to duplicate as it is not consistent with specific sites or work flow.

Mar 19, 2008i dunno if this is new or everyone already knows bout it, but when i stacked one macbook air on top of the other with the bottom one sleeping, the one stacked on top also goes to sleep even if it was turned on. i tried this on a friends macbook air and this happens. is it coz of the magnetic fields in the hard drive? anyone with 2 macbook airs on hand should definitely try this.

Applications :: Bento Field Order/Tabbing - How To Fix It
Dec 14, 2010I switched to Bento from Filemaker a fews back because my primary use is rather simple - a pilot logbook. All has been fine until recently. The tabbing order of my fields has somehow changed as I do data input.
Filemaker had a command to Change Tab Order so a user could jump to fields in a desired order. So far I have found no Bento equivalent.
MacBook :: Skips First Character Typed?
Apr 10, 2009When typing text it often skips the first character typed. This happens in URL address bars, searches, web forms etc. which can be really annoying.
The only 3rd party software installed is Firefox 3, which is the application that has this problem the most, but then it is also by far the most used software.

Aug 14, 2010Running on a Late 2008 MBP 15" with 2.53 GHZ C2D, 320 GB HD, and 9400+9600m GT. I've been having a recent issue where when I've been playing a song, and I click in the middle to get to a part that I like, iTunes skips to the next song. If I look at it closely, what happens is the cursor-thing that shows where you are in the song jumps to the point that I clicked on for about 1/4 of a second before jumping to the end and playing the next song. Yet when I let it play through all the way, the problem does not exist. It only happens when I'm around the beginning of the song and I click around to somewhere around the middle/after that.

Apr 18, 2012Occasionally when I import a CD to my iTunes library via the File menu/Import CD on Snow Leopard; iTunes 10, iTunes appears to skip a song and no information appears when I enter the search terms in the search box. This happens even though all title information appears before I click "Import CD" and all the boxes are checked. I've found that if the CD is still inserted, I can import the songs to a single playlist by dragging the titles to it. So apparently the song did import, but for some reason doesn't appear in the library list. This isn't usually a problem, but I'd like to know why it happens and how to prevent it, since I'd rather have the complete information in my library.

Hardware :: Logitech G5 Mouse Skips Under Heavy CPU Load?
Oct 17, 2008My recently bought Logitech G5 'Gaming' mouse is no doubt a fantastic mouse. But everytime the CPU (Late 06 MBP) is doing something intensive, even if it's just one of the cores. When the mouse is moved, the pointer will skip to a random spot a few inches away on the screen. This happens over random intervals (from 2+ seconds).
Sure it's not so bad when I'm firing up VMWare and it skips around because response time isn't vital. But i'm playing games with it, and well, in WoW that means you run off cliffs and miss the potion, and becomes a major PITA.
I know the first version of the G5 (the rust coloured one) had similar problems. But apparently the new blue one (the one in question) is fine. The surface I'm using it on is a heavy sheet of cardboard (backside of a notebook).
Anyone else have this problem? And what does logitech do in these cases? I rang up tech support and got hung up on. Or do I need to go to the guy I bought it from?
EDIT: after running 'yes > /dev/null', it might not be totally CPU related, maybe the GPU has something to do with it. In any case, I'll be playing in another account to see if the problem arises there.
OS X :: Music Skips On Bluetooth Headphone (Modem Connected)
Feb 12, 2010With the modem I am currently using, I connect it VA bluetooth to my macbook pro. Now, when I try to listen to music with my bluetooth headphones at the same time I am using my modem the music from my headphones skips quite a bit. If I shut off my modem, I can play music 100% fine to my headphones - without skips. Is it possible to be using my modem and playing music to my bluetooth headphones without my headphones skipping the music?
