While trying to sort out iCal/ gmail sync. (mroogle very handy for this! I had a few errors setting things up, and I noticed the box popping up has what appears to be a typo "Bould" not Could. Made me chuckle. With all my bad typing and spelling I feel that smudge better.
View 2 RepliesHad a breach on my gmail a couple of days ago and changed my password but then, the iCal on my Air then stopped syncing with my Gmail calender even when I checked that the password was correct. It just keeps saying:
iCal found a CalDav server but couldn't login with the username. Make sure username and password are correct and try again.
I've done the following:
1) Deleted off iCal and tried to reinstall
2) Tried to install as CalDav with the /calendar/dav/username@gmail.com/user/ with 443 SSL
Both ways don't work for me...
I just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
Trying to get them to talk to each other - I've input the Google account into iCal preferences, and it shows up fine. But I seem only able to sync one way - if I add an appointment in Google Calendar - then sync - it shows up fine in iCal. But if I add an event in iCal and then sync - it doesn't show up on the Google Calandar.
I recently updated to Mavericks. Now I'm getting an error message from syncing with my Yahoo! calendar. It keeps saying that Yahoo! won't accept the change. All I wanted to do was dismiss the message from my mac, not change anything on Yahoo! Very annoying.
Also, for the past few months, even before I upgraded to Mavericks, I've been noticing a problem with events that migrate between my cell phone and my computer. The cell phone is a Samsung Android. It purports to sync with my gmail calendar. ical also purports to sync with the gmail calendar. The appointments do migrate from calendar to another, but the messages don't. It doesn't do much good to have an appointment in my calendar if the program doesn't give me a message warning me of the event.

I discovered a typo in Snow Leopard OS X, that is not in Leopard. At least on my two machines. Can anyone else confirm that under system settings > Network Settings > Advanced settings; in the drop down box where it is listed as automatic, it says "autimatic" or something. I am typing this on my windows machine off memory, so I will edit later with the exact option and spelling. I just can't believe that something like this could get past Apple, and why it wasn't in Leopard...

View 2 Replies View Relatedfor those of you using gmail with imap know, read and unread status's do not update for some reason w/out turning mail off then back on. i recently purchased a new (to me) intel macbook with snow leopard 10.6 and used mobileme to sync my mail accounts. what i noticed to my pleasant surprise is that my iphone, macbook, and gmail are all in perfect sync, BUT the g4 powermac with leopard and apple mail 3.6 still has a problem. is there any updates coming out, i find it hard to believe with the leopard updates still coming out they still haven't addressed this issue. are those of you with snow leopard experiencing the same perfect syncs with gmail read/unread status?
View 3 Replies View RelatedRead boards, tried help, tried everything. Gmail IMAP account will only synch inbox. ALL other folders do not appear in Mail 5.2 / Lion 10.7. In fact, MAIL doesn't even appear in the list of applications here. Am at a HUGE loss. I have checked Google settings. They are all set to show and show online just fine. I need this for work, so if this cannot be solved, I need to go back to a PC solution. Nothing should be this complicated.

I have had a Gmail IMAP account sync with Mail without problems for over a year. I almost never actually log into Gmail in a browser anymore because Mail works just fine.
The other day I was away from my computer so I logged in via a browser and saw that about a month ago, Gmail stopped saving sent messages in the sent section.
Those messages are still in my Mail folder, but never got sent to the server or not saved. I never changed any configurations.
Is there some way to manually "push" those messages to keep things in sync?
I have checked my settings, everything is normal.
Is there a way to push my Mail contacts to my gmail account?

I have Configured my MBA(OS X 10.7.3) mail with the Icloud, Exchange Server, and Gmail. In ICal I have made my Gmail Calender as the Subscription, Exchange Calender, shows as the Separate Calender in Ical. The Gmail Calender entries are Sync with Icloud. But I couldn't Sync the Exchange Server Calender entries from Ical to Icloud. All i need is "Sync my Exchange server calender with Icloud".

After discussing the migration to iCloud with Apple Support I bought Lion today. Only later did I learn it won't run on my MacBook (Core Duo, not Core 2). Any fixes, workarounds' for syncing that calendar. My desktop, iphone, ipad and ipod touch will all work fine, of course, but my notebook appears left in the cold. Guess this means Mail is out of luck, too!

I cannot seem to get my iMac Calender to transfer updates to my Ipad... yet I know I did this once before. My OS on the mac is 10.6.8 and so I apparently cannot use icloud and I can't update my OS due to some software that I use that cannot go beyond that yet. So I'm stuck. Is there a way to do this without upgrading the mac?

On my Mac, ALL of my emails have been marked as "read." However, while my AOL account syncs fine, my Gmail account's messages must be "read" individually on both ends.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a long time I've successfully (and happily most of the time) synced iCal, Address Book, bookmarks, etc. with MobileMe. So my desktop (Mini), laptop (Macbook Pro), iPhone, and iPad stay together. But yesterday syncing went nuts. I was alerted that more than 25% of my calendar items were changing and 1,600 items would be added. I canceled that sync. Then it said 3,800 items would be added, then 11,000, then 85,000! And whole calendars were being duplicated in iCal. (I think most problems occurred in iCal but Address Book seems to have had a few problems too.) Mostly I was able to stop syncing before too much damage was done. But as soon as I turn syncing back on, it goes nuts again. I've deleted as many .plists as I think safe.

Like many of you, I have to use a PC at work. I can access outlook on said PC either through webmail or Remote Desktop Connection but what I would really like is an automated way to sync my oulook calendar with iCal. I thought AddressX would work but it requires ananymous connectons to the exchange server which is apparently a no no from a security perspective. How have you sync'd outlook calendar with iCal?
