I am a photographer and am always booking photo shoots. Although my manager has no idea what I'M going to be booking, and what days I'm available. Is there a way to sync my iCal or ANY CALENDAR on my mac (or online) so we both can access what is available and look at the days on two separate computers?
View 1 RepliesI just used the ical calibration tool to sync ical up with my google calendar and it works like a charm. I love how i can just click on dates in Mail and add them to my iCal which then pushes i to google calendar for my wife to see...that way i can sneak tennis or a round of golf in and she can't say she didn't know
At any rate-i would like to know if there's a way to pull her cal stuff to my ical. I can see all of her stuff on my google calendar, but i dont have the "right" to add her account to ical. I assume i could just have her enter in her login info - but i would like to know if that's the best way.
Trying to get them to talk to each other - I've input the Google account into iCal preferences, and it shows up fine. But I seem only able to sync one way - if I add an appointment in Google Calendar - then sync - it shows up fine in iCal. But if I add an event in iCal and then sync - it doesn't show up on the Google Calandar.
I have two Macs- a macbook pro and an imac and also a windows machine which are wireless and are running on an Airport Extreme network. I have a relatively large iTunes library of about 30GB. My question is that is there a way to keep all of my computers in sync automatically so that I dont have to go in and sync my music manually? Basically what I'm looking for is pretty much mobileme... but for iTunes.

Like many of you, I have to use a PC at work. I can access outlook on said PC either through webmail or Remote Desktop Connection but what I would really like is an automated way to sync my oulook calendar with iCal. I thought AddressX would work but it requires ananymous connectons to the exchange server which is apparently a no no from a security perspective. How have you sync'd outlook calendar with iCal?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI set up the syncing through CalDav but in iCal it creates a new calendar (which is the Google Calendar). Would I have to delete my original calendar called "Home" and just make the Google Calendar (in iCal) my main calendar? Does it do a good job of syncing both ways? Also, if I do this, does it also sync through MobileMe?
I've followed the tutorials online to sync my Google Calendar with my iCal.The problem however, is that, after doing so, only the calendars that are in Google Calendar are synced.What I mean is that lets say I create a calendar called Birthday in iCal. This would not appear in my Google Calendar! To fix this, I actually have to create the calendar in Google, then sync it!
I'm looking to sync my ical calender with my plaxo.com account. Sadly iCal uses the ical calnder format and plaxo uses the csv format.
Does anyone know how I can convert between these two files? or a third party application that I can upload my calender to plaxo with.

I know that you can add Google Calendar to your iCal this way. Is there a better way? I just don't like how it is a separate calendar instead of syncing with the calendars I already have in iCal, I guess I'm looking for something that will sync my existing calendars on iCal with Google Cal similar to what Mobile Me does. I know there is a $60 service that does this, but there must be a free way! I've had no luck searching Google for answers... Why I want to sync with GC is because I want my family to be able to see my calendars, but I don't like using GC, I much rather enjoy using iCal. Much nicer user interface; unlike Google which is very bland. (As is Google's way) Anyone able to help me out?
I use iCal together with MobileMe and I have noticed that none of my subscribed calendars sync with MobileMe/iPhone. I installed Delicious Library a couple of weeks ago (which places a subscribed calendar in iCal) and that syncs but not my others, such as "Birthdays" (through AddressBook) or my RememberTheMilk ones

I know that at one point in the past I came across a tutorial that showed how this could be done using Google's free Calaboration application, but strangely I've not been able to find this tutorial since, nor can I find any tutorials that go over all of the steps to accomplish this task.
I've used SpanningSync and BusySync in the past, but had issues with each of them, and I would really appreciate any suggestions that anyone has that DO NOT involve the use of either of these paid third-party sync apps...
So, i have been using entourage for a couple of years and had no problems. I now want to sync my mail and calendars with my new phone (Nokia N97 mini). To do this I believe I have to use Isync, so I have set the sync services preferences in entourage to 'sync events and tasks with ical and .Mac'.
I have a few queries:
1. when I do this my calendar in ical does not represent my calendar in entourage - there are additional events in the ical calendar (it doesnt recognise that these have been deleted from entourage). Ical is also set to sync with mobile me and that has the same additional events as ical.
2. in ical it says I have 2 calendars 'entourage' and 'entourage 2' however 'entourage' doesnt have any events on it. So I deleted it but it just keeps coming back
I'm contemplating the move to iCloud from MobileMe. I need to be able to sync an older Mac Mini G4 running 10.5.8 too. It can't run Snow Leopard or Lion, so this one issue is holding me back from the iCloud transition - I would have to replace that computer to do so, which seems ridicluous. I'm concious that I need to make a decision before the June shutdown of Mobile Me and need to plan.

I have a file in one directory (Direcotry A) named users.yml, and a file in another directory (Directory B) called users.yml.Those directory A and directory B are in the same super directory. Is there any way I could have both of the users.yml sync with eachother so if I changed one, the other file would be the same?

I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on both my Late 2014 MBP and my Late 2012 iMac. I have iCloud set up on both computers and logged in to the same account. I added a ton of new Mail rules to sort my incoming mail on the MBP. Rules were created within the Mail program, not on iCloud. I have both Mail and documents & Data set up to sync on iCloud. However, I'm not seeing any of my new mail rules showing up on the iMac. I have removed and re-enabled Mail and Documents & Data from each computer with no change.
How do I get them to sync across to the other computer?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe normal question is can I sync Apple mail database (folders) between two MAC computers. The answer is always use IMAP, but unfortunately IMAP is limited on space to store historical emails. I keep mailboxes (on_my_mac) with thousands of emails and attachments that take up a massive amount of space, well beyond any IMAP server allowances. I keep these in order to search conversations that span over many months and sometimes years.
I use GoodSync to sync my normal folders from my MAC Book Pro and my Mac Pro desktop so that I can have the same information (in real time) when working from home on my big machine or at the office using the laptop. This is great except I can not sync the email. I use Outlook 2011 but would prefer to use apple mail if I can sync the two computers (Sync'ing Outlook 2011 is even more impossible).
I also do not want to start and stop my email clients to make this happen and worry about which MAC is running mail and what direction to copy the entire folder structure just to have to follow that up with a new re-build of the index.
Also keep in mind the amount of data - Cloud based solutions are dependent on Internet connection speed (days of initial transfer time and hours to sync) and if I am on my laptop without internet connection, say on an airplane, I would be out of luck so I need the information local on each computer.
My entries in iCal on my macbook do not get synced on iCloud. what should the setting be on iCal and iCloud for this be solved?

I have Configured my MBA(OS X 10.7.3) mail with the Icloud, Exchange Server, and Gmail. In ICal I have made my Gmail Calender as the Subscription, Exchange Calender, shows as the Separate Calender in Ical. The Gmail Calender entries are Sync with Icloud. But I couldn't Sync the Exchange Server Calender entries from Ical to Icloud. All i need is "Sync my Exchange server calender with Icloud".

After discussing the migration to iCloud with Apple Support I bought Lion today. Only later did I learn it won't run on my MacBook (Core Duo, not Core 2). Any fixes, workarounds' for syncing that calendar. My desktop, iphone, ipad and ipod touch will all work fine, of course, but my notebook appears left in the cold. Guess this means Mail is out of luck, too!
