I have been searching on Google on how to set a specific color label for certain extension like .docx, .pdf, .png, etc. I was only able to change the color label for a specific by using command-I and change the color label. I want a specific extension to have a specific color label. Is this possible? It would be pretty helpful for me to spot a certain file type extension.

When i watch an episode of a tv show or a movie i label it with a color so that i know that i have seen it. There are some files where when i right click a file and and go down to where the 7 colors are they are all grayed out. I am not sure if this is a bug or if certain files cant be labeled.

In my home folder I have copied a folder from my external hard drive, this folder I can navigate to no problem
so in that folder I have created another folder called 2010 in that folder is another called Germany 2010, I would like to save a Excel Doc in there, but when I press save as on the Document it does not give me the option to save to this folder and I cannot navigate to it, So how can I save as in a folder of my choice.
We just upgraded from 10.4.11 and noticed that Printer Specific setting (like line screen, scaling, wrong reading, etc) are not getting passed to our image setter. The image setter is AGFA Avantra running on a Tiapan RIP running on an NT4 server. The PPDs are generated using the RIP's EDF software. The most up to date PPD code is Laserwriter 8.7.

I have a website that I need to open with Safari as it won't display properly in Firefox 3.6.3. From the Address Bar in Safari, I dragged a link to my desktop, right-clicked and checked it to always open with Safari. The name of the link is something like "PITA.webloc"
When it opens that first time, it dose open in Safari, but subsequently, always opens in FF. I also right-clicked to "Get Info" and indicated it to always open with Safari. While "Get Info" shows that correctly, it still always opens in FF.
How can I connect to a specific FTP server as a guest by default?

In os 10.6 does anyone know a way of lowering the screen sharing color depth from full. When I connect with a vnc client, if I set it to anything other than full the screen never opens. Or maybe subject another good VNC server I could use.

I have a HP 7000 loaded with A3, 6500 loaded with A4 and and B110 loaded with A5. In print and fax, the default paper size is global across all three printers and I have to change it every time. Snow leopard terminal preferences seems to only change the first terminal window opened. For example I have new windows set to open with 'pro' theme, only the first window does this. If I hit cmd-n for a new window, it's the basic theme with the default size. If anyone knows the commands i can throw in .bash_profile to change the bg color and size of window, please let me know, I guess that's the workaround.

I work with a lot of .ai files and my default Illustrator version is set to Creative Cloud. CC crashes constantly on my machine, however CS6 runs smooth as silk. I'd like to be able to double click an .ai file and have it open in CS6, not CC. When I right click > Get Info > Open with and change it, it reverts as soon as I click "Change all..."

Occasionally, I have a lot of mac applications running on my desktop, and I like to switch back and forth and do certain things with each one of them.
If I clog the activity monitor up too much, the color wheel will come up, and I really hate it. I get very impatient when that happens - not because of it being there, but for some reason, the color wheel itself.
Is there a way to change it so that there is not the color wheel there, maybe something like a black and white color wheel or another gif.

Does anyone know how to change the default cd/dvd-rom from the internal drive to an external drive on a Macbook OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger)? If not permanently, then for the time my computer is on (e.g., a button at start up)
My internal drive does not work and I want to install Windows XP on Parallels but it keeps looking for the cd on the internal drive. I tried making an .iso image of it and telling it where it is, but it still keeps looking for the internal cd drive.
