I have some PDF forms that I regularly need to fill out. Since they aren't "real" PDF forms and the document is locked, I need to print to PDF, save as TIFF and then use Preview's annotate feature to mark things up. It works well, but the default font color (red) and default font size (36) are not optimal. And each time I start a new annotation, I need to change back to black and a smaller font size. Is there any way to alter this default?

I'm sick of the standard grey mac color. When I'm in candybar I go to the dock section-->view-->dock-->preview background..the options under preview background are greyed out. Also when I am in the dock section-->view-->background-->change color. I try changing the color but it doesn't change. Am I doing something wrong..or what?

My mac was working awesome when one day my background changed to just a blue colour wallpaper. I tried everything to change it back but nothing worked.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded and installed Office 2011 and I was wondering if anybody knew of a way to change the background color from grey to anything you want. In 2008, there was a file in the Contents-->Resources folder called "Page Layout View Background Rest" that you could replace with any image and the background would change (by 'background', I mean the actual grey color on each side of the word document, not the background of the document itself).

View 4 Replies View RelatedSnow leopard terminal preferences seems to only change the first terminal window opened. For example I have new windows set to open with 'pro' theme, only the first window does this. If I hit cmd-n for a new window, it's the basic theme with the default size. If anyone knows the commands i can throw in .bash_profile to change the bg color and size of window, please let me know, I guess that's the workaround.

In Mavericks, can a TextEdit document have a solid color background? I'm tired of the BRITE WHITE and want canary or powder yellow.

Every time I open my Applications folder the view setting that I set is back to default. The system does not remember the background color, icon size, or any other setting.

I want to be able to change my projectors default background while using my mac book pro. Currently it is showing Apple's signature background. I would like to change it to a plain black background so that when I disengage mirroring the screen the audience sees will go black; thus allowing me to make any necessary changes/switch programs and then engage mirroring.

Is there any way of making a window stay in the back no matter what, as if it was stuck to the background? I want to do this with my adium since there is no use to have the contact window anywhere but the background, and it would have been kind of cool if it stuck to the background somehow xD.
I'm running Mac OS 10.6.1
I'm creating DMG installers with background pictures. My build machine is 10.6. I'm having problems getting them working consistently:If I create one on 10.4 it works fine in 10.5, 10.5 and 10.6,If I create one for 10.5 it works fine in 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6,But if I create one in 10.6, the background picture shows in 10.6 but does not show in 10.4 or 10.5.
I think I recall having seen similar reports in one or two places but there's not much information on the web. Has anyone here come across this problem? Is it recognised? Fixable? Unfortunately I have no option of running 10.5 on my build machine...

I have this problem on my new MBA (2012) and mac mini (2011), both running the latest update of LION (10.7.4). Basically, if I am using preview, it shows up on my dock no problem and I can close windows/hide/quite no problem. Usually a while later, a copy of Preview ends up showing up in my FORCE QUIT menu (if I happen to be there), but is not visibly open. (see pic).
Odd that it occurs on both. Only things that are non-apple installed on MBA (and mirror with MM) are:
- MS Office 2k11
- Firefox
- ClamXav virus scanner
- Diablo 3

Occasionally, I have a lot of mac applications running on my desktop, and I like to switch back and forth and do certain things with each one of them.
If I clog the activity monitor up too much, the color wheel will come up, and I really hate it. I get very impatient when that happens - not because of it being there, but for some reason, the color wheel itself.
Is there a way to change it so that there is not the color wheel there, maybe something like a black and white color wheel or another gif.
how to restore the default Color LCD profile for a mbp 15" Glossy Hi-Res? I was messing around with mine trying to get rid of the purplish hue to all Blues and overwritten the default one. I'd rather not have to do a re-install and my Time Machine backup is of my old mbp (so different panel).
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I have been trying to find the reason why this is happening. I am having an issue with the icons disappearing, the file is still there and you can click on it if you click on the words, but the icon is not there just the icon is gone. The icon that is not showing up is the folder icon primarily. I have searched several different sites and can not find an answer to my problem. I have included a link to view what my desktop looks like with the files pictured so you get an idea.

I have tried to do the equivalent of a (rebuild desktop) desktop reset which was a program I downloaded from apple:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/macos...s/xupport.html
It did not help either and after installing that and doing the reset. Now when I go to open a picture, it opens in color sync instead of preview. The only way I can open a picture in preview is to open preview and then open a picture through itIt is like color sync is the default for some reason. Does someone know how to fix this? But my main concern is tis icon issue I am having. I don't know what to do as it is making it very hard to work. This even carries over to my external drives when hooked up. I need help as I do not know why it is doing this
As far as other information, I just installed Tiger a few months ago if that helps any and this is on a mac mini. Other than that everything has been the same. I have relaunched the finder through opt+cmd+esc but it is not available to relaunch through right clicking the icon on the dock. Also it no longer allows me to drag a picture file over a program like Photoshop in the dock to open it in Photoshop. What is going on here?
I have an MBA 2011 with 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7. I am very shortsighted and have struggled with the poor contrast levels between tabs and the rest of the Safari UI. My solution has been to switch off tabs, use windows instead. and configure my right option key as an App Expose shortcut. This works very nicely, but the only fly in the ointment is that when I click on a link I wish to open in a new window, it defaults to always opening in a new ACTIVE window, when I'd usually prefer it to open in the background as per tabs.
I have checked and unchecked the option in the 'tabs' preference pane with no luck- do I need to re login to make this stick? CMD-Click works to a point, but it's not reliable, and I find it finicky, even though I've routed it to a touchpad gesture through BetterTouchTool. Is there any other way to force safari to open new windows in the background - perhaps by adding a new item to the context menu? I'd really like to resolve this as I'd love to make the switch from Chrome to Safari, especially with ML coming very soon.

When my 2010 macbook pro changes graphics card it removes my background and sets it as a blue screen. Everything else still works fine and if i go back and set the desktop background again it sets it until next time the card changes!
