View 17 RepliesI have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
My Mac won't automatically play an mp4. It comes up with an error message saying "This movie could not be opened. This is not a movie file:. What am I missing? I understand it should just automatically play...
View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently use "Alarm Clock 2" as my morning alarm and it's great cause it allows me to choose any song, or audiobook as my morning alarm...however can't choose any films.
I'd love to wake up every morning to one of my files on my Movies folder, or even iTunes movies Folder, or even Podcasts...
How can I achieve this?
I would absolutely love it if I can choose one of my Arrested Development episodes on my movies folder on my Mac to wake me up in the mornings...
I downloaded a movie but it isnt playing
View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I'm using iMovie and I want to make my video which is 30 or so minutes about 5 minutes, and I guess that would mean I'd need to speed up the way it plays but I have no idea how to do that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy friend is having this little problem with Quicktime. Every time he plays a movie (not in fullscreen) and make the window bigger, it starts to shrink until its the smallest it can go. This doesn't happen in fullscreen, does anyone know what the problem is?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rent a movie via iTunes. It said the movie was ready to be played although it is still downloading so I wanted to start playing. My Problem is, that the movie does not start. It is stuck on a black screen. If I move the slider on bottom I can see pictures of parts of the movie that have already been loaded. But I cannot start playing them as a film.
Same thing with Trailers in the Store. iTunes was updated yesterday and also Quicktime is up to date and I also tried the repair function of it. Running Win 7 Professional, 64 bit. Because the rental period now expires in 48 hours (because I clicked on "play movie"). As a "workaround" I tried to play the Movie on my MacBook Pro but it says the rented film is now been authorised to my PC.
I rented Boiler Room for 3.99 and it stopped playing at 1:24:02. Why is this???
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a .wmv file and when I try to open it in quicktime it only plays half of it, but when I attempt to convert it to a different format like .avi, the quality gets reduced but it will play the entire thing.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rented a movie on iTunes via my iPad.It loaded properly. I hit play and Air Play so it would connect to my Apple TV. I can now HEAR the movie, but I cannot see it (having said that, I see the movie, still, on my iPad screen....). Apple TV and AirPlay work fine with youtube videos and previously bought movies.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a few wmv vids on my mac. Up until recently they were all fine. When I went into the folder the all files showed the Qicktime logo on them and played using flip4mac. Now the files are just white with no logo on them and when I click to play one it brings up the message "This movie could not be opened, The file is not a movie file." I have tried reinstalling flip4mac and quicktime but I still have the same issue. Someone told me to try perian but still nothing. I am guessing this is a problem with the files but not sure how this happened or how to fix it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't get sound from my headphones when listening to music or playing a movie.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to stop iTunes movies from playing menu music when the movie has been paused?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI rented a movie, some 3 hours ago. It said that my start up disk is full and therefore it couldn't download. I deleted many of my pictures, movies I had made, music I had bought and so on and so forth. And yet to my great disappointment, I still cannot download that movie.

I bought some video and audio from itunes and would like to put them to my portable player, but I am failure, whether they have protection or format require?---- how can I convert or transfer those files?
View 24 Replies View RelatedOn Sunday I popped a DVD into my 1.5 12" Powerbook (756 ram, 100gb hd) and then picture got incredibly screwed up. I guess the best way to describe it is there were a mess of colors and lines everywhere. Trying to move windows around left a window trail on the screen.
First thing after this happened was that I got all the data off, then I popped in the original Panther disc and wanted to do a fresh install, it installed alright from the disc (albeit with issues on the screen), but when it started again, there was a blue screen while the music was playing (the music that comes on when you first get your mac).
Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? From some forum searching it seems to be a video card issue. I'm hoping to salvage it some how, but if not, it'll probably sell as parts. It's been so good for four years now, I was surprised it conked out so suddenly.
rented a movie and paid for it, cost was deducted but no record of purchasing movie anywhere

can anyone tell me what i may be doing wrong? i am trying to create a movie using video clips from my camera. when i download my movies to iphoto, they work great. when i drag them to imovie, they play but i do not get any sound. the 3 little check marks are there but still no sound!
View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Â Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...Â
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.Â
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

I quit iTunes and my rental movie disappeared after watching half of the movie. The rental sidebar disappeared as well. What do I do to retrieve my movie?

6 month old MBP 15", been running 100% fine, plugged it into a projector the other day and it auto changed the screen resolution. I unplugged the device, went into settings and changed my screen resolution back to it's factory size as well as command & the minus key to make sure I wasn't zoomed in on anything.Â
I then did a system update for the following; Airport utility, Safari, Ricoh Printer, Digital Camera Raw, java, Itunes.Â
Restarted the computer as the updates had finished, then when turning back on the loading screen with the grey background, apple symbol and rotating loading symbol was zoomed in as much as the resolution would allow. So i restarted a couple more times, still the same thing - every time i turn the computer on the loading screen is massivly zoomed in, once it's done loading and moves to the log in screen it is fine.Â
I've tried plugging into the projecter again and editing my settings, that did nothing. It's like because i updated while the settings where wonky it's saved it somehow?Â

My brother's iBook G4 (I think it's a 2003 model) has a problem with the screen. When the computer is turned on, the screen stays black, although the backlight is on (the apple glows). Sometimes, on start up, the screen works normally for a random amount of time before going fuzzy and then black again.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Is it likely to be a problem with the hardware in the actual computer, or just the screen? Or is it a software thing?
How do I clean my start up disk for more space? I have I cloud but don't really use it.

About 10-15mins after starting a WoW session in 10.5.6 on a Mac Pro, the screen goes into powersave mode, and cannot be returned. This is leaving me with no alternative but to hard reboot!
I can hear the fans going mad as I'm playing, so wonder if it's a heat issue. If so, what to do about it?
Can anyone suggest:
a) How to break out of screen power save without hard rebooting?
b) What the issue may be and how to investigate/resolve it?
got dual core 2.8, 10gb memory and 8800
Trying to play a .mkv 1080p file with vlc, quicktime using perian and mplayer
all fail at doing a good job. vlc does the best job but drops frames, so annoying.
I didn't have this problem a few weeks ago before i reinstalled osx.
I can't get them to run in Safari. I can run Hulu clips and others. I can use the same computer and run them with Firefox.
