My super disk can no longer burn to DVD on my G5. I have no problem burning to a CD but I can no longer read or write to DVD. I think it should be a simple setting as the super disk can read and write to CD.
I use Final Cut Pro X Version 10.1.2 under Mac OS X 10.9.4 to create a slide show video. How can I add still frames (pausing) before and after Ken Burns effect? I tried sandwich a clip with Ken Burns effect by other Ken Burns effect clips with identical starting and ending frames. However, clips are non-continuous when playing the video.
Info: MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I have an iMac 7.1 with Superdrive. Whenever I try burning an audio CD (regardless of software), I get distortion on playback. Generally the first 20-25 minutes of the disc. However, when I do DVD burns on the same drive, both audio and video are fine.
Ok now I have a problem now with my PB. I upgraded to Tiger (bought from Apple.) I now can't play DVDs! When I was running Panther I could pop in a DVD and the DVD Player started up. Now with Tiger, I put in a DVD It mounts on the desktop (like any other cd.) I can still burn and read cds, but can't play dvds.
Personally, I think it's a great effect, but my client hates it. Unfortunately, it is the default in iMovie, and iMovie seems very reluctant to turn this effect off. Here's the problem I am having:
- My client requested a series of still shots to be made from a 40 minute video. So, I imported the DVD video into Quicktime using a third-party app (DVD-VX,) and then I was easily able to create still shots, (it was someone's 65th birthday party.) So far, so good...
Then, the client wanted the shots (about 125 of them) set to music, and provided a series of CDs. OK, no problem. I put the pictures in order, and synchronized it nicely with music, using iMovie, so that I could easily trim the music, fade the volumes in and out, and add titles and transitions between the different sections. So far, so good.....................
I just got a brand new iMac '09 with. I love it already but the only problem I seem to be having is iDVD. I got a movie that is about 700 MB, and would like to burn it onto DVD. First iDVD was saying its too large for the 4.2 GB DVD, so I selected high quality instead of previously selected Best Performance. That fit the movie onto the DVD. Once the encoding was done, I burned it. However now, when I play in on my DVD player, there is no video (green screen) and sound is all scrambled. Same thing when I play in on the iMac. I then noticed that already on the preview menu (under media) the movie is played with no video and damaged audio. Also, when it was finished burning on the dvd, iDVD kept asking for blank recordable DVDs to be inserted, which after two ruined dvds I cancelled.
I have a 2.4 GHz Intel Macbook Pro and I've started to notice small circular black marks near the edge of the upper left corners of my computer. They're about a centimeter in diameter and black. I swear they appeared overnight. My computer spends a lot of its time in my backpack in a padded macbook sleeve. I've dropped my backpack a few times, but I don't see how that would result in these little 'cigarette burns.' I've attached photos. Should I be worried? Any idea what repair will cost? What do you all think?
I just noticed that all of my 16:9 resolutions have just disappeared from my available resolutions list in system preferences. They were there before. This is true for the resolutions of my 24" external monitor as well. What can I do? I need to have the 720p and 1080p resolutions available. But they're just gone. Every other resolution is there.
Safari was working just fine one minute and the next it was only showing the top 1/2" of the window and nothing else (I can see the full background of my computer instead).
I remember being able to tab through the buttons in certain windows. For example, when I press the power button to shutdown, I used to be able to tab through 'restart' 'sleep' 'cancel' and 'shutdown', then press either space or enter to make my selection. But for some reason, I can no longer do these things. I do not remember when I first lost this function, but it's been a while. Is there a setting that enables this?
I have an Airport extreme broadcasting in N only connected to my modem. off of the AE i have a linksys 54gs that i installed dd wrt and running that as a bridge so that it can broadcast G only. i must have changed the IP address because when i am on that G network (each router has different SSIds) i can no longer access the linksys/dd wrt prefs with the default 192.168.1.1 get what the Lan ip is now on that router? i would have to have to reset
For some reason my screenshots are no longer showing up on my desktop, or anywhere on my computer that I can find. When I press Command + Shift + 3 or 4 I can hear the snap sound but it doesn't appear on my desktop. I've tried Spotlight search for "Picture" but found nothing. It was working fine a few days ago, I don't know what happened.
So this evening I finally upgraded my MacBook (1.83GHz, first generation) to Leopard. (I am not a luddite, but rather just really behind the times.) I had previously been using OS X 10.4.11, and upgraded via a retail OS X 10.5.4 installation disk (legally acquired).
Everything seemed to go swimmingly.
But then I noticed that my F7 key, which previously controlled the Expose "All windows" function (indeed, it is labeled as such), has stopped functioning properly. It no longer controls the Expose "All windows" function. That function is now handled by the F9 key.
I have consulted Google, and have tried a number of potential fixes. I've tried to reassign the key function(s) via both the Keyboard & Mouse pane and the Expose & Spaces pane in the System Preferences. No dice.
For a long time I was running Firefox 3.0 just fine, until a few months ago when every time I tried to open it, it froze up and I had to shut it down. I removed it and installed Firefox 2.0 which was fine for a while but I would really like to start using 3.0 again.
Does anyone know what the problem could be? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting my Firefox profile, etc.
I have been using Inquisitor as a search add-on to Safari for ages, and even after its acquisition by Yahoo! it still searched Google when configured to.
The last week or so it has no longer searched Google, but Yahoo! searches when configured do work as expected.
I have removed Inquisitor now, because I find Yahoo! not very good...
Anyone else having the same issue? This is v3.2 of Inquisitor on Safari3
I upgraded to Leopard from Tiger, and am now having a problem reading certain CD-ROMs. Each month, I receive a CD from a guitar instruction site. When I was using Tiger, I had no problems reading any of these CDs, but, since the upgrade, I've become unable to open the most recent few. They aren't even recognized by the computer, and are ejected automatically, although they work perfectly on two other Macs running the same version of Leopard. Older CDs from the same company still play fine. My drive is a Matshita DVD-R UJ-857D.
Working on an iMac 24in Intel that was working fine until my upgrade to Leopard. I originally had issues printing to my Phaser 7700 with the initial upgrade from Tiger to Leopard - but I was able to find an suitable workaround.
Now with the 10.5.7 update I cannot print AT ALL and tried everything from resetting the print queue to reinstalling the drivers. I have tried to print to some of the other printers in the office and I keep coming up with the same error: GenericClass: waiting for device Connecting.
I have search this forum and the web for my answer with no luck. I have a 2007 15" Macbook Pro which has work flawlessly up until now. Yesterday, when I was done using my computer I put it in sleep mode as I usually do. When I went to use it today, I noticed I am no longer able to scroll down on anything using the 2 finger scroll on my trackpad as I usually do. I have since shut down and restarted my computer twice which did not fix the issue. Does anyone know why I can no longer scroll? I haven't downloaded any apps or anything recently that would affect this.
This morning, On my Macbook Pro, I was able to use the option-tab shortcut to cycle through windows within an application. This afternoon, when I do the same keystroke, I just get a tab character. Or I cycle through the links on a website. The option key is working, as I can use other keyboard shortcuts. I even plugged in an external keyboard and it is responding to the option key. But the shortcut option-tab appears to no longer be working.
I have the fear that I accidentally pressed some weird key combination without realizing it that remaps the key for accessibility purposes. I've looked around the system preferences and I can't see anything that would reassign the combo. Does anyone have an idea of what happened?
I can no longer log into my iCloud account. On both my home and work mini mac I get a dialog box that asks me to cancel or learn more about iCloud (a link to a website). I could use iCloud before.
I've been using a 6870 in my Mac Pro 1,1 for over 6 months now with virtually no issues (some minor artifacting a few times). Earlier this week, the Mac Pro would no longer display any video. Display works fine, as I've tested it with a Mini. I tried connecting a different display to the Mac Pro, still no video. I've tried removing RAM, resetting SMC, PRAM, etc....Â
The Mac Pro chimes, boots up fine, keyboard responds. Only issue I can find is with the lack of video. I tested it with another brand new 6870, and still no video. I thought perhaps I downloaded some kind of Apple update that affected the 6870 working with it?BTW, I've also tried booting from a drive with Snow Leopard as well as powering on with no drives installed to see if I could get the flashing folder.Still no video of any kind.
I purchased Call of Duty 2 on the app store, played it through and then deleted it, expecting that I could download it again when I wanted to play it again. That has been possible with other games - and Call of Duty 2 - but now COD2 isn't in my purchased list, and the App store asks me to pay again for it.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), late 2011 model
Until a recently I had no difficulty connecting my mid 2010 macbook pro to my LG tv using a mini display port to HDMI cable. The software on the Mac is OS X Lion 10.7.3 Now when i plug it does not work. The tv recognisies the computer is plugged in but it enlarges the screen so can only see a small part and the display on the computer does the same so I can get into the display menu to do anything there. When I unplug it it goes back to normal but i cant do anything with the display preferneces as its not plugged in. I have tried a new cable but this didnt work.
Someone was trying to fix some computer issues I was having (I think they may have deleted some files). Now I can no longer back up, I get an error message that reads: "The operation can't be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File> Get Info, make sure "Locked" is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permission section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again."
