I've got a MAC OS X, version 10.5.5. When I put my mouse down to move it, it will continually minimize all windows (about 3 per second) almost like it's stuck. If I squeeze the sides really hard I can stop it for a second or two, but still does it. I've tried disconnecting the mouse, resarting the computer but cannot figure it out.
View 3 RepliesMy imac core i7 arrive (it's great). However, the question I have is that when I double click (left) my my magic mouse (yes I enable the right/left click buttons). So when I double click the mouse on a web browser on the empty space (the space to the right of the red/yellow/green button, nothing happens. I want to send it to the bottom of the dock like in all of my previous mac. The double clicking of the mouse does nothing. Note: please don't confuse my simple question with the System Pref/Doc (minimize windows into application icon) situation. I know how to do that. I just want to minimize the current windows by double left clicking and sending it into the dock? How do I do that?

Backstory: Sunday the updates window popped up so I let it run and reboot. Boot screen is stuck on the white screen with apple logo and spinning icon. None of the typical hotkeys were working like the Shift key to go to Safe Mode. I decided to resinstall Snow Leopard which went perfectly fine since I was able to boot off of the Install DVD. Everything seemed fine after the install and I had all of my previous programs and files.
It worked fine all day yesterday until I shut the lid to leave work. I got home, opened the lid and the spinning mouse icon was continuously spinning. I could move the mouse but couldn't click anything. I shut it down using the power button. Upon booting it up I did not hear the boot up sound but a white screen displayed and didn't do anything from there. I rebooted it again, inserted the Snow Leopard DVD to try and boot off of that and it won't even boot off of the DVD. None of the typical hotkeys work either, not even to eject the DVD. I do hear the DVD spinning up but it doesn't do anything; just a white screen.
I did reset the PRAM which forced it to reboot and I got the startup sound back but it still only shows a white screen. Any ideas? I forgot to purchase Apple Care last month before my 1 year warranty ran out so I'm 1.5 months out of that.
For some reason i can't minimze any windows?!? the little yellow icon in the middle of the red and green icons isn't even there...Im not sure what happened but it is really annoying!
View 16 Replies View RelatedFor the life of me I can't figure out why this feature is still here. I've been searching for ways people use it, but I can't really find much. Any time I need to clear things, I just hide them. The only thing I can come up with is in the event that someone wants to hide just one of an application's window. But also, it seems inefficient. There's a keyboard shortcut to minimize windows, but there doesn't seem to be one to bring it back. Most of the time, it's just annoying because I accidentally click it. How do you use the minimize function if at all?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've tried basically everything I could find but my games on XP (on Bootcamp) keep minimizing randomly, its sooo annoying.
I did an XP Repair, ran a AVG spyware sweep and found nothing, uninstalled AVG, and I basically uninstalled everything else I had except my games and nothing has worked.
Before my games were working fine (I had like Bioshock, Mirrors Edge, COD5), then I went to my friends house and installed Steam. Somewhere in there this problem started occurring and so I tried uninstalling it, still no luck.
I have a Macbook Air and I want to install Windows 7 in boot camp. however since I have a 128 SSD I definitely want to minimize the disk space it uses. I installed it on an imac and it took 14 Gigs!
Is there any way to do what we can do in OS X, remove print drivers etc? I couldn't see any option during the installation on the imac.
Dont like to allocate 24 gig for Windows since I need some space for any applications as well.
After I reinstalled Snow Leopard I cannot double click on top of a window to minimize it. What do I do to re-activate that? I used to double click at top of any window/app and it would minimize.

Is this behaviour normal? If so, why? Btw, if I right click the Finder icon in the dock, the menu item "Hide" is greyed out.

Boot Camp continuously fails at partitioning. I've read many articles about it which say iDefrag is the solution. So I did some defragments with iDefrag (the on-line, compact and the full-defragment) and tried to partitionate with Bootcamp lateron but it did not work. What should I do to fix this.

But i have noticed that after not using the mouse for about 5 seconds, it sort of falls asleep. I have to click the mouse and wait a second for it to be active again. My Magic Mouse keeps stuttering. If I move the mouse it takes about 5 seconds before the pointer moves.

I successfully installed Win7x64 on my 13" MBP. I got the drivers installed and everything updated. My USB mouse stopped working both in OSX and Win7. Anyone got any ideas? I researched online and I am running the latest bootcamp with the latest drivers. It's strange because prior to installing win7, my USB mouse was working fine on OSX. It's not the port. I tried sticking in a external hdd in both slots and both slots function.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs a long time Windows user when I first started using OS X a couple years ago, I remember the mouse control driving me nuts. It can be quite hard to get used to the OS X acceleration control. I explored a couple of the programs to let you customize the acceleration, but I guess my brain eventually just adapted as it stopped bothering me.
Now though, I am spending a good amount of time in Win 7 on my new Mac Pro. I'm finding that again, every time I go into OS X I find the mouse control very hard to adjust to. It's a Logitech Anywhere MX Mouse and I installed the drivers in both Win 7 and OS X.
Perhaps I am just loosing my mind...but it would be nice if I could have the exact same mouse experience when switching between OS's.
(edit: As a little bit of a further observation, I think the Win 7 mouse refresh rate is several times faster than what I observing in OS X and this is probably a big part of why I am feeling like I have more control in Win 7. Doing circles with my mouse in Win 7 creates a much more complete circle.)
I am trying to get Windows 7 Ultimate to fully connect to my Magic Mouse.
Here is what is going on.
Download Boot Camp 3.2 and installed it. Computer is still reporting I have Boot Camp 3.1 but I did not have any errors during installation and rebooted fine.
Reinstalled Boot Camp 3.2, and it completes very fast, reboots, but still says I have 3.1
Apple Software update says I am up-to-date...
All of this is to get 7 to connect to my Magic Mouse, which 7 see's but can not connect to.
I've never used Parallels, but my girlfriend has it on her iMac. I installed Theme Hospital for her but when you try to play it the mouse goes absolutely crazy, flying from edge to edge. When I put Parallels in a window I could see what was happening. There were two cursors on screen; the Theme Hospital one and another one. Whenever the other (normal XP style) one hit and edge of the window the Theme Hospital one would jump to there, and then they'd swap around a bit when I moved it back. Also, is there an easier way to put Parallels in a window? The only way I know so far is to drop the resolution from standard in XP, then press cmd+Q and cancel.

I have both loaded operating systems on my new MP and it just feels like the mouse tracks better in Windows... like it's just snappier as if it had a higher refresh or sampling rate. I've actually always noticed this going back and forth between Macs and PCs for years -- the mouse just works better in Windows -- maybe Windows has better mouse drivers or something because it just feels more responsive. I should try an old ball mouse to see if it's the optical factor. My mouse on the Mac just feels ever so slightly choppy. Maybe I need one of those special optical mouse pads(?)
