Apr 24, 2012It seems I am able to browse secured websites and pick up my email messages using Mail and I can chat using Messages, but I cannot browse to unsecured sites on this network. I have been given a Web Proxy address, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.

May 7, 2012So, by June all my iDisk content will be gone forever? Whatever happens my issue right now is that: I already switched to iCloud. Probably about a year ago I thought I "unpublished" my sites from iWeb, took them offline or whatever. Well, my iWeb sites are online and now that iWeb is discontinued the only way to access my iWeb sites are through my MobileMe iDisk.
I want to delete the blogs, posts, photos, etc from iWeb but the trashcan icon is not illuminated and it will not allow me to delete the content. How do I get rid of this stuff!? Or will it even matter because it will disappear June 30? I have been browsing the discussion board and haven't seen any recent questions pertaining to this specific problem.

The crash may also be aggravated by my attempt to type something in the search bar, right after I reset.
I have now set Safari to open with a homepage, and now I can reset Safari at will and it no longer crashes after a reset.

Feb 3, 2009In Firefox and Minefield I am able to post on peoples walls, but often I am unable to load their profiles well. In Safari, I am able to get to Facebook profiles, but when the profile is fully loaded, and I click in the area marked for writing on the "Wall" my text is grey, as it was when the profile first loaded and Facebook alerted me where I can write. When I click post, Facebook does not recognize that anything has been written, and will not post the text.

I would have hundreds of images and now for some reason without changing preferrences of any kind will only recieve maybe a dozen of images.The scroll bar seems to want to have massive results and as if page just wont load all results.

Mar 5, 2009OS loads very slowly...then once it does load, regular apps load okay, but safari and firefox and finder will not show up. it goes to sleep much faster than it usually does. i get spinning beachballs all the time. strangely, if i click a link in adium, it will come up in safari just fine.

Apr 9, 2012I have tried everything that I have read on how to add a site to Top Sites. With two windows open, I try to drag and drop a URL, and the "plus" sign disappears and the URL does not get added to Top Sites. I have tried the top of the page, the sides, the bottom, and the middle where the previews are. It just won't drop. Yes, I've clicked Edit. I've even tried holding the Control, Option, or Command key while dropping.
I have tried adding a site using the Bookmarks, Add Bookmark and choosing Top Sites. When I do this, it does get added to the Top Sites, but when I close and reopen Safari, it is gone - not in Top Sites anymore. I have tried totally re-setting Safari. It does not make any difference. I've tried it on my Mac mini and my MacBook. I can't get it to work with either one. Is there some trick I am missing?

I clicked EDIT, then I dragged URLs into the order that I wanted. Then I clicked the BLUE PUSH PIN to save, and clicked DONE. And then it was different the next time I did Command-T.

Safari :: It Just Won't Save My Top Sites
Jul 6, 2012I just reinstalled Lion on my MacBook Pro and everything is great except for one small problem that I can't seem to solve. I'm using Safari 5.1.7 and it just won't save my Top Sites. I deleted the TopSites.plist, rearraganged and repinned the Top Sites as was instructed here and here. The Top Sites do stick for a while but then they change again. I repeated this process several times and they still keep changing.

Aug 28, 2010On my other mac, when I start typing in safari's url bar, it will auto-suggest pages based on the title name of my bookmarked sites (rather than just on the [URL] address url). I just got a brand new MBP and when I start typing in letters into safari's url field, it won't auto-suggest any of the names of the bookmarked pages, it only suggests based on the actual www address. How do I get it to suggest the bookmark's names?
EDIT: On my other machine I have GLIMS installed. Is this a GLIMS' feature? I was under the impression that safari did this itself.
MacBook Pro :: Safari Top Sites Looks Scrambled
Dec 4, 2010I just got the new 15" mbp and noticed that safari top sites would scramble itself at times. I've looked around the net and seems like a normal occurrence for people with the new MBP's. My question is, what is causing it? And how do you get rid of it? Is it just a matter of turning off "automatic graphic switching" so it's running on the discrete nvidia card? Is it a software issue with flash or safari?
