How to customize the printing port number on mac?
I use OSX 10.9.3 and need to change the printing port number to 93100 which is not a standard protocol port.
I have searched on the net and clicked on all the buttons inside ADD PRINTER area but I cannot find anything.
Maybe this functionality does not exist on mac at all?
How do change phone no on iCloud keychain? currently i am running 10.9.4 mavericks and there is no option to change phone no under prefreces> iCloud>account details. i can only see option to change security code.

I have a thermal printer wich permits me to change the ribbon (Black, CMY, CMYK). If I have a mixed type of files to print, I'd put on hold (in the "print" window) the files that requires the unloaded ribbon while waiting for the other to print.
Of course, I can print all the CMYK, wait until it's done then print the B/W ones but I don't find it practical. Or I can also rush to the print center and hope to have the time to suspend manualy the ones that need it.
Q2: Once a printer is created, how can I change the associated ppd? This also was possible with OS9.
Q3: It is possible to change the printer name once it is created?
Trying to set up iTap on my iPad to remotely access my iMac. How the heck do I find my port #? Apparently it is NOT the default 5900.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout an hour ago (have been trying to sort it since) I was in the middle of sending a couple of e-mails (been emailing a friend for about an hour, so was a sudden occurrence). And the messages don't send, wait in the outbox and an error message pops up JUST on my sky e-mail account, who are my ISP providers. They're claiming the port number and the outgoing mail server are incorrect/causing the error yet I have no touched the setting since the day I set the account up about 5months ago. The first line of the error says 'there may be a problem with the mail server or network' and then it goes on to mention the outgoing mail server and the port number (which is 995).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to print a credit card sized image in the form of a PDF file from preview. It's actually a scanned copy of an ID card and when I print it, it always prints the image in the exact center of the paper. I would like it to print in the upper left or right hand corner, so I can take the paper, re-insert it and then print the reverse side of the ID card on the same sheet of paper, but am not sure how to go about this. In "page setup", I can successfully change the orientation to landscape, but this doesn't help. I also can't seem to find any help in the printer setup section. I'm printing using an HP Officejet 6310. Is this possible using preview? I'm using OSX 10.4.11.

I am running OSX 10.7.2 I have installed my printer with the latest downloaded drivers etc. The printer is a HP photosmart 5510. I have gone into system preferences, then print and scan. From here I can see my printer but can't see anyway of changing the print quality. Similarly, if I go into print settings via iPhoto I have the same problem. I have been able to change the quality in Safari but can't see how to create a default setting for photo printing at the highest quality

This began happening recently on my late 2011 MacBook Pro. Nothing new was added. I try to print a message and the application crashes. When I restart it, it's okay. Upgraded to Mavericks recently and now my sent emails show my internet account number not my name. My provider (Bell) says it's a Mac issue, and as the emails send perfectly from their BellMail site it does point to being an Apple issue. Full name details are shown correctly in Mail Preferences, but any email I send only has the account number in the 'From'.

On my dock the message icon is showing 1 unread message. I click and it comes up saying I have an unread message from a number I have no knowledge of. I click on this and it just opens up the messages app on the last received message. I do not have a text from the number and question so can't view or delete it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect to a windows network printer through my MacBook Air. I can connect to the printer via the windows network and can send documents to print. The document goes through to print but at the last second it says there is an error. When looking on the network windows computer, in which the printer is installed, I can see the document has gone through to print using the printer dialogue box for microsoft, but it details there is an error and the document doesn't print.
It seems that they are connected but there is still an error.Both Windows and Mac computers are up to date currently and the printer is a HP Deskjet F4180.
iMessage does not show my phone number on iMac. My family has 3 iPhones we sync to this computer and only the other two are available to checkmark in preferences on the iMac. I tried updating my profile online, but only my number is listed on my account. iMessages works fine on my phone. I've tried signing out and back in and rebooting.

I have orb installed on my Mac Mini and I'm trying to get the orb iphone app to wake the Mini up when I want to use it. I'm very confused about this whole port forwarding thing. I went to [URL]and entered in the correct info, but it still doesn't wake the Mini up. My question is this. I've configured my Airport Extreme to have 2 networks, one 5GHZ and a 2.4 (both with different names) so that I can use my iphone wifi with it and run the rest of the Macs in the house at 5GHZ. When I go into the airport utility, I only see the main 2.4 one listed on the left column. When I change the port forward settings, are they only being applied to that one, or both the 2.4 and 5 GHZ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using crashplan as an online backup service. Crashplan uses port 443 to send its backup data to its servers. I need to figure out a way to differentiate crashplan traffic so that I can create a QoS rule in my router to assign it a low priority, and I'm not quite sure how to do this.
I can't use a mac address, since that would deprioritize the whole computer. I can't use port 443, because that would flag a huge amount of other traffic as well that I don't necessarily want de-prioritized. Currently, crashplan does not offer a way to change the port it uses.
I recently purchased an Epson WF 3520 printer that prints 2 sided. My Mac Maverick with all updates shows that 2 sided is turned off but I have not found how to turn it on.
View 6 Replies View RelatedRunning 10.9.3 at the moment and having unusual printer issues at the office. Basically, when going to the print dialogue box and clicking "print" to any printer that is turned off or that OSX doesn't recognize, it will crash the app. The unusual thing is that even after turning the printer back on, any app that tries to print won't even make it to the print dialogue box and crashes immediately on clicking File>Print or Command-P. Clicking on Printers in System Prefs crashes System Prefs. Most of the time even a restart won't solve the issue. It does seem to resolve itself the next day after I go home and come back to the office.

I seem to have a problem with my ethernet port not working after a specific location change...I have three locations I used frequently. Let's call them:
1) HomeWireless
2) WorkWireless (used when I'm in meetings)
3) WorkEthernet (used when I'm at my desk)
My general practice is to change locations just before putting my MacBook Pro to sleep, and then it is happily ready for the desired network when it is awoken.I'm not sure what this change in behavior coincided with, but as of ~1 month ago, I am finding that going from WorkWireless to WorkEthernet, my ethernet port appears to be completely dead and I have to reboot the computer to reactivate it (yes, I've checked the cable itself and the wall port at they're OK). I've tried a couple ways of disabling & re-enabling it in software, but I don't get the impression anything actually resets this interface - suggestions are welcome as perhaps I just didn't try the right thing. I couldn't find anything quite the same as "networksetup -setairportpower" for the ethernet port.Oddly, this is not an issue with going from HomeWireless to WorkEthernet. Both HomeWirelss and WorkWireless have the ethernet interface deactivated in the Network pref pane, and perhaps the only notable difference between HomeWirelss and WorkWireless is that I use a static IP on the former and dynamic on the latter.

I have Copy Machine: Kyosera KM-2560. I print, let's say about 120 sheets on Friday. After about 50% into the spooling I get this message of the error. Would it be the printer using IP?
View 1 Replies View RelatedUpdated to 10.9.4 today. Soon afterwards I plugged my TV into the HDMI port of my Mac. The monitor immediately went blank and even after I unplugged the TV, it remained so. I tried restarting via the Mac's on/off switch to no avail. Finally, I unplugged the electric cord from the Mac mini; replugged it in and was able to turn the computer on.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have used ssh port forwarding in the past,I have recently upgraded to Mavericks, but it does appear that my ssh port forwarding stopped some time before this. The last time I know it worked was 5/14/14, and feel it has worked more recently as well.
from my Mac I ssh to my work jump server (port 22, let's say its IP is 11.22.33.44), and my jump server has access to work PC (lets say IP of 10.1.2.3). My work PC has RDP running on it on the common port 3389. I have verified that I can set up a working RDP session at work from another box. Also, I know that my jump server can get to my PC at work as I can ping my work IP if I just ssh straight to my jump server. And I know that there is no firewall stopping me from the jump server as I can also open a telnet session to my work PC on port 3389, without errors.
how I have done it in the past and it has worked, but now recently stopped working in Terminal app:

The verbose logging shows that it sets up connectivity. If I then look to see if my local port is listening I can type:
netstat -an | grep 127.0
I will note that port 3387 is in fact LISTENing and waiting for connection
I then start my RDP client app, and start a session to "localhost:3387" (I could also use "127.0.0.1:3387", and have, but it does not work either). My RDP client eventually times out. I have turned my firewall off and on, neither way works.
