I've seen plenty of ways to magnify the area around your mouse. Is there a way to magnify a specific area of the screen, leaving your mouse free to do whatever it wants? I.e. something like a box that just sits on my screen instead of following my cursor around.Â

I am using OS X 10.5.7 on macbook pro 3.1. When I zoom my screen (by holding ctrl and scroll). I get a close look of a certain area. which is what I want. However, if I move my finger on touchpad, both cursor and desktop move. I would like the desktop stay unmoved, always show the particular region, only the cursor move. How can I do that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, and spontaneously, pinch to zoom is not working in any area of Motion. I thought maybe I accidentally did some keyboard thing that disabled it, but System Preferences shows it's still enabled, and pinch to zoom is working normally in all other applications. It's just not working in Motion for some reason. I've restarted Motion and that didn't fix it. Also rebooted and surprisingly that also didn't fix it.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working via Safari on an online jigsaw puzzle at http://six.flash-gear.com/npuz/puz.php?c=v&id=3274406&k=25952437.  The computer zoomed in on the puzzle...a Mac-based zoom-in menu appeared and accidentally flashed on "zoom in"...and now I cannot undo the zoom. All normal methods fail, and part of the puzzle is off-screen. I don't know how to see the rest of the puzzle now. I thought perhaps deselecting "show all" would help, but it won't let me deselect either.

Some emails that I receive don't fit in the page viewing area. I have to use the scroll feature at the bottom to see the entire email. Is this fixable to get the email to fit in the space provided with no acrolling sideways?

i cannot click on any of the files in the finder area for certain folders.*just upgraded from mountain lion to mavericks...i've also noticed that the icons in 'icon views' have disappeared too...here in a different folder, everything works fine....and the icons appear under 'icon views'.

when I first went to settings it magnified a little (as in it magnified my dock icons just a little), and I already thought that this was odd. After setting my hot corners it did not magnify at all...
The printing area is smaller than the page I want to print, 3 or 4 columns are on an other page to the right of the print area that I can print, I am not great on excel but would like to move the printing area so it can take all of it.

Is there a way to zoom out the viewing window of mac applications? I know for sure in safari I can zoom out, but it reverts to the original size as soon as I close out the window. I would really like to do this in safari and mail.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that on a black background, my 17" i7 MacBook Pro has two areas in the lower middle area of the screen, where the backlight is too bright compared to the rest of the screen. It is very noticeable on a black background and grey.. Is anyone else having this problem?
Other things I noticed:
- there was dust on the plastic cover that you take off the case when you use it for the first time
- the aluminium enclosure was slightly dirty, could be rubbed off though..
- there are two minor 'impurities' in the aluminium (?!).. two tiny grey spots/blemishes basically
- there were a few minor scratches on the aluminium casing.
- the apple logo at the back glows in a much warmer (yellow-ish) colour than the previous generation mbp (?!)
- the screen seems not as bright as the previous generation
- the keyboard backlight seems not as bright as the previous generation
I want to make training videos. I still can zoom in while doing screen recording with Quicktime in my MacBookPro Lion. But when I played back, there's no zoom in in the movies.Â

I'm still a mac newbie. I have a late 2009 MBP and when I press my f12 key usually a thingy zoomed in over my screen that had like a calculator, world clock, weather, and something else. I liked this thingy. It worked this morning while I used it to help do some basic math (I'm not a math person). But a few minutes ago when I hit my f12 key it didn't pop up! Instead there was a little dashboard thingy at the bottom of my screen that slid in and said "widgets" and reminded me exactly of the annoying widget dashboard on my old PC. I don't know how or why it has changed. How do I get the cool "zoom in over my screen thingy" back?

When browsing the internet and zoom on photos the screen goes black. This does not happen on my 13" Retina display i5 processor 256GB SSD 8GB RAM, so I do not believe the problem to be my Thunderbolt display.Â

I run safari and am browsing then notice the screen at that moment slides a little to the right with a replica behind it then slides back like a flicker. I can't reproduce it. Also my screen will suddenly enlarge (in any application) yet the zoom feature is off in system prefs - universal access - seeing - zoom.

I currently have 4 input sources on my mac (English, Hebrew, Russian, Spanish).Â
I use the keyboard shortcuts Command+Space and Command+Shift+Space, and I also have it set to automatically switch input sources as I switch to a document, but for some reason, it's just not working out very well for me. I feel like I'm always typing in the wrong language - particularly if I have tabs open in Safari with different languages, or something like Facebook chat which is in the same window, but may require all 4 languages.Â
I'm wondering if there is any way to set language-specific shortcuts, for example Control+Command+E -> English, or Control+Command+H -> Hebrew.
I looked in the menus of BetterTouchTool but could find nothing...
Do I need to make some kind of script or app to do this?

How do I print a contact address to a specific label on a sheet? This is so I can use all the labels on an 8 label sheet.
