I really need to scan some images into my computer and I can't afford the $39 for VueScan. Image Capture used to work, but now what happens is that I open it up, and my printer/scanner Might show up for a second, but then it disappears and image capture tells me that there's no camera or scanner connected.I think it's stopped working ever since I upgraded to 10.6. Any ideas?
View 3 RepliesWe have 10.6.7 Podcast producer and mac minis with 10.6.8 and a ADVC-110 Canopus conected to firewire and recording by a java app developed to schedule our recordings based on a database which has all the dates of classes. All the macminis has a Energy Saver Schedule to shutdown at 12:00am and starts at 07:00am And all the mac minis in the podcast capture preferences are binded to the server and has the quality choose on good having a file of 271mb per hour. But the problem goes here, every file that is uploaded to the podcast server are really big we are talking about a 1h :20m are about 16gb. So my server is really really slow trying to encode this files. Is any other way to force podcast capture to capture smaller files? i dont know if the problems is in configuration or in our advc 110 I have been testing different versions of mac os x and the only one that the codification of best, good and better works was in the 10.6.4. Even lion fail on the codification of the video. The problem is that we have mac mini 2011 and i cannot install 10.6.4 only run 10.6.8... Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have deleted the photos off my camera manually and wanted to change it to shoot in RAW but then when i connected it back up to upload using 'Image Capture', the old image files show up as missing, and the new ones not at all so i changed back to jpeg format, but the problem wont go away
it seems like its saved the old image info in a cache or something can i wipe it clean and start over some way?
I tried image capture combined with newly downloaded snowleopard drivers for my epson perfection 4490 scanner. Does image capture or other app built into snowleopard have color profile choices? I did not see any color profile options in the details view of image capture. All I see are millions or billions of color for the color options.
I use AdobeRGB & sRGB color profiles for my scans.
I have an Epson Perfection v500 scanner and am having problems getting the Image Capture app to recognize it. The included epson scan software will not work with Snow Leopard- this includes the newer "snow leopard compatible" drivers and app.Anyone else have problems with the Image Capture app and Epson scanners?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Snow Leopard (and in Leopard before it), when you use the screen capture (to clipboard) key combination: SHIFT+(apple key)+Control+4 to capture part of the screen to the clipboard, it doesn't paste into many applications.
For example, using an OpenOffice document, the Edit...Paste menu is not highlighted (after doing a screen capture to clipboard), yet, I can paste the copied clipboard screen shot to Text Edit.
Since OpenOffice and other programs I've tried (including Thunderbird) do display graphics in their programs, why don't they accept the clipboard contents from the Mac screen capture program?
Thunderbird also will NOT accept a Mac screen shot clipboard "Paste".
What's going on here?
This lack of functionality breaks the idea of "cut and paste", which always works as expected in, gulp, Windows.
Snagit, for Windows, was wonderful, but I can't find anything to even come close for the Mac. (Of course, I'd be happy with just cut and paste working as expected for simple screen shots.)
I'm having trouble printing my images at 100%. For some reason that I haven't been able to troubleshoot, when I try to print an image from iPhoto, I lose a half inch or more of the photo around the edges. It even reflects that this will happen in the preview screen.

I use Image Capture to get photos off my Canon XSi. Lately, it hasn't been working. Image Capture shows 26 CR2 icons, but won't show their thumbnail previews. It won't download them, and I can't delete them, either. It also won't recognize any new photos I've taken with the camera. The only thing I've done recently that might have caused this is I installed a new scanner (Epson V300).

I am having problems with Image Capture not recognizing all the files on my camera (and recognizing photos that have long since been deleted).So I just took a few pictures to test out and see if I could get it to work right. I plugged in my camera and opened up image capture. I clicked download all. It downloaded two pictures that are not even on my camera (I double checked to make sure) and they were deleted weeks ago. And it's not recognizing the pictures I just took. There are about 23 pictures and it's not recognizing any of them just the two pictures that were deleted a while back. What's going on here? I'm new to Mac by the way.

I've purchased Jing but it won't do it. Are there any other applications available for Snow Leopard? Now I am using Jing to capture each piece of the page and then stitching them together in photoshop. There has to be a better way.
when i try to scan photos using image capture, the overview scan works fine, and i can see the photo, but when i press scan, it goes through the actions, and the scanner goes to work, but after the scan is finished, my photo is nowhere to be found. it simply does not show up in the folder i specified.

Both programs just give me a message stating that the SANE program is in use by another application ( I downloaded some TWAIN SANE files for my version of Gimp, which also does not want to recognize the Epson).

It is missing some menu items, will save only PNG and TIFF file types from my scanner, and crashes frequently. No other applications are affected (for example, I can still scan to JPEG using any other application). Is there an Image Capture preferences file I can find and delete, or is there a quick way to reinstall the application?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to make Image Capture forget a device? It must have a cache since it remebers the folder where I save the photos. I want to make it forget my iPhone (4) because it keeps deleting everything I import regardless if I uncheck the box or not. What's weird is it works fine with all our other iDevices (4S, 3, iPad, all latest iOS) and card readers, so it must be something it remebers about my phone. Â
It do not see anything like this in the menu. Here is the Image Capture stuff in ~/Library just in case someone can point me to the culprit.Â

I have a new scanner and I installed the drivers. It's showing fine in Photoshop CS3 but the window for it is awkward and small and barely has any features to it (there is no selection to for Advanced either). I figured I should try to use Image Capture instead, hoping to have better luck and more features. However Image Capture is not allowing me to go to 'Devices > Browse Devices' because there is no 'Devices' menu listed at all. I've restarted, unplugged things, plugged devices back in. It just says 'No Camera or Scanner Selected'. the Command B is not even working either.Â
