I can't download or view a 6 or 8mb photo on my mac using the mail app. The email account in question is a hotmail account.
this email and attachment was able to be downloaded on my iphone but not on the mac. and i did also resend that email from my hotmail account to my same hotmail account but that also didn't allow my to open the resent attachment either
I even tried importing to iphoto and I got nothing. Mind you in the past when i tried to email a photo from iphoto that could take almost forever to occur but hey that;s another issue ...

I have a macbook pro operating on OS X software, version 10.6.8. I am trying to upgrade to the newest version (I'm clearly behind, I know) and when I click "get" in the app store the download drops into the dock and reads "OS X Yosemite--waiting" and the only option is to click "cancel download". I've restarted the download twice and restarted the computer once.

Installed Yosemite a couple of weeks ago. No problems. Yesterday unable to download photos from SD card. First I was able to download the old photos from the card but not the newer images. Now nothing will download into Aperture or iPhoto. I turned off the computer and tried again.

My MacBook Pro 13 inch (early 2011 - Intel Core i5 2.3Ghz) cannot get beyond password screen (bar half fills and freezes thereafter). Recently download Yosemite OS X as offered as free upgrade. Also changed the password last evening but that hardly is related to the issue. The bar is new on start up! It has worked albeit very slowly in recent days since Yosemite dowload. Was working in Mavericks okay.

When I upload a file created in third party apps like Scrivener or Nisus writer on my iMac, I see the file in the finder under iCloud drive in my MacAir, but cannot directly download it. Next to the file name there is a download icon (the same that's used in icloud.com) but clicking on it doesn't do anything. I can't drag the file to my desktop either. I have to go in my browser to icloud.com and download it from there.
I thought I can upload and download files just like in Dropbox or Sugarsync, I use both, without having to go the the icloud.com website.
I am using the latest version of Yosemite on both machines.

I really do not like the appearance of Yosemite and I'd like to change it back. I went to the app store and downloaded the installer for Mavericks but when I open it it says that the file's too old to work on Yosemite. How do I go back?

I am wondering whether a Time Machine backup made on Yosemite will be accessible on Mavericks/Mountain Lion for me to restore to, as I don't want to downgrade and wipe my Mac without any of my data backed up. Is there any way just to backup files and documents?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to create a Windows partition to load Windows 7. But the Bootcamp assistant returns a dialog box saying I must update my boot ROM firmware before using the setup assistant. This happened AFTER I installed Yosemite 10.10.1. I previously had Windows successfully installed when I was running Mavericks.
In clicking the SMC firmware icon in Launchpad I get another message saying "An unexpected error occurred (28). Your firmware cannot be updated."

I am either too stupid or Yosemite's mail does not work the way I'm accustomed to. In all previous iterations you select as many individual addressee's as you wanted and place them in the address heading. I have not found a way to do that in Yosemite. You must choose them individually and place in the address header one at a time. I know about groups but that is not a good avenue as many of my emails go to random people depending on content. If the above is not possible do have an email you reccomend that would let me send to multiple addressees in one operation. I do not use Gmail, Yahoo, etc. . . My email is from 3rd party provider.

I downloaded the Beta version of Yosemite, but I'm finding that some of my apps is not working correctly. How can I downgrade to 10.9?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhenever I go in and download the app, it pops up in my launch pad and the status bar says "waiting." The problem is, is that never goes away. Trying to download Mavericks, the download stops every time at 1.03GB, and clicking retry doesn't start it.
I get the message "The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again."But if I click Cancel, and then restart the download, it works perfectly again up until 1.03GB.
So I'm a little unconvinced that it's a problem with my internet connection, considering I have full access to the web and clicking retry shows it working and connecting.
I have a MacBookPro. Unfortunately something went wrong with my OS X and I tried to reinstall OS X. First for all I formatted my SSD in Recovery tool (Cmd+R keys) and the restart my laptop(Yeah, now I understand it was not so clever, but I'm new with macs). And now when I starting my mac I see in black screen a directory with "?" symbol. And Recovery tool doesn't work. And now I can't download nothing. But I have a Windows machine. So is there way how I can download OS X image on Windows?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDecided to install Mavericks onto my 13' Macbook Pro, which is currently at Lion right now. First tried the default download and restart to run, but ran into the problem of it saying, when trying to install OS X, "There is not enough space on this disk". I was trying to install on Macintosh HD, which had 372 gigs free..
The other two options had the same message, being titled "OS X Install ESD" and "disk0s1". After tearing my hair out at how incredibly non-user friendly this was, I tried the USB method, following a guide to correctly put Mavericks on a 8gig USB. Same issue, though said to try and customize it, or something. a simple download and install method doesnt work for this sort of thing. Why would t be saying 370+ gigs is not enough to install?
Instantly says not responding the second I try to run it. I deleted the install file and tried to re-download, but I get the same problem. This is the error it was giving me in console when I would try to run it and it would stop responding.
