When downloading small files online they will download through Speed Download. Before I installed Speed Download it would just download through the regular downloading client. How do I change it back to using the regular one as standard? I use firefox btw

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a MacPro 2009 with OS X 10.9.5 installed. I just added a PCI-e card with a SSD on it. Can I install a fresh copy of OS X 10.9.5 on the SSD and use it as a boot drive too? I plan on using my MacPro for audio production and the requirements are quite stringent to be able to provide good performance. So, my hope is that I can boot to my existing HD while using Office, Safari, etc but when I want to use it for audio production be able to boot to the SSD and have nothing on it except my audio software (Cubase, Wavelab, & associated plug-ins) on the working system. I also plan on upgrading to Yosemite for my "regular" HD boot drive but leaving Mavericks on the SSD for the time being as the audio production software is not yet compatible with Yosemite.Â
I don't want to just move from my existing HD to the new SSD as I don't want all the associated software to be copied over as well. Just a clean install of Mavericks on the extra internal SSD. There is nothing on the SSD at this time. Only initialized. I believe I can use a keyboard short-cut on boot to tell which drive to boot from but I have not been able to find a way to download Mavericks to do a fresh install of it on the new SSD.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an iMac, iPhone 4 and new iPad all associated with my one and sole Apple ID and all authorised to share the same itunes library (stored on the iMac) when they're in range of my home wifi. I also have automatic downloads set up for music only. Home sharing works fine.
When I download music from itunes on the iMac it appears on the iPhone and the iPad as well. So far, so good. When I download music from itunes on the iPhone it appears on the iMac as well but NOT the iPad.When I download music from itunes on the iPad it appears on the iPhone but NOT the iMac. When I try and use the itunes "download purchases" facility to add it to my iTunes library on the iMac, I get an error message saying the iMac is already associated with an ID and I can't associate it with another one for another 32 days. But I thought I only had the one ID?
Everything is running the most up to date software. It was all bought brand new, either direct from Apple or obtained boxed and sealed from a major retailer. I've only ever had the one ID.

I am trying to download MAC OSX 10.5 that I just purchased and my hard drive on the computer won't show up as a destination drive to download the software on. I erased the disk figuring that would help but it did not.

When I attempt to download a .wmv file, it appears to download (as evidenced in download manager) but then stalls forever and never finishes the job. I can download other media files without problem. I have updated WMP. Im on G4 PB 10.4.3.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIve recently downloaded a trail for the download accelerator DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) to speed up the download of a world of warcraft patch. Unfortunately, I had to delete this program when I realized that this was causing my computer to overheat due to pushing my computer's abilities through the roof. My computer has not been damaged in anyway, and i have "deleted" the program but when i still continue to try to download something it says that "DAP Plugin cannot find Download accelerator plus"; even thuogh i just deleted everything. so then i try to delete the plugin, but my mac says that "this item cannot be deleted when it is in use" but it really is not.
Can any of you help me to try to delete this plugin so i can start downloading again. After several attempts and techniques I STILL am not able to download anythinh

For some reason recently when I go to download anything I see the 'swirly indicator' at the top of the page briefly, then it stops and there is no new download in the Download Folder and Finder does not show any new file. Not the usual popping up of a window where I can see the size of the file and the download progress and the get the file from Downloads as was the case previously.

Whenever I go in and download the app, it pops up in my launch pad and the status bar says "waiting." The problem is, is that never goes away. And then eventually the whole thing disappears completely as if I never downloaded it. Everything is updated and my macbook pro is running OS X Lion 10.7.5.

Trying to download Mavericks, the download stops every time at 1.03GB, and clicking retry doesn't start it.
I get the message "The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again."But if I click Cancel, and then restart the download, it works perfectly again up until 1.03GB.
So I'm a little unconvinced that it's a problem with my internet connection, considering I have full access to the web and clicking retry shows it working and connecting.Â
I have a MacBookPro. Unfortunately something went wrong with my OS X and I tried to reinstall OS X. First for all I formatted my SSD in Recovery tool (Cmd+R keys) and the restart my laptop(Yeah, now I understand it was not so clever, but I'm new with macs). And now when I starting my mac I see in black screen a directory with "?" symbol. And Recovery tool doesn't work. And now I can't download nothing. But I have a Windows machine. So is there way how I can download OS X image on Windows?Â
View 5 Replies View RelatedDecided to install Mavericks onto my 13' Macbook Pro, which is currently at Lion right now. First tried the default download and restart to run, but ran into the problem of it saying, when trying to install OS X, "There is not enough space on this disk". I was trying to install on Macintosh HD, which had 372 gigs free..Â
The other two options had the same message, being titled "OS X Install ESD" and "disk0s1". After tearing my hair out at how incredibly non-user friendly this was, I tried the USB method, following a guide to correctly put Mavericks on a 8gig USB. Same issue, though said to try and customize it, or something. a simple download and install method doesnt work for this sort of thing. Why would t be saying 370+ gigs is not enough to install?Â
Instantly says not responding the second I try to run it. I deleted the install file and tried to re-download, but I get the same problem. This is the error it was giving me in console when I would try to run it and it would stop responding. Â
