I am trying to print in 'draft mode' with my Epson xp 215 and I can't find this option under 'Media Quality'.
Does the printer misses this option or is it something with the apple software.
For the rest it works really fine.

My iMac won't boot unless I boot it into safe boot. It won't even boot from the Leopard disc so that I can repair the disk and the permissions. Every time it starts up the screen would dim and then I get the message that I need to hold down the power button and restart the computer, which I believe is a kernel panic. I get this same message when I try to boot from the Leopard disc. I've tried repairing disk permissions while in safe boot and it fixed the permissions but still no luck when I tried a normal boot. I've tried replacing the RAM hoping it was faulty RAM as well as changing the slot the RAM was in and that didn't work either. How come it will boot in safe mode but not normally? I also ran Apple Hardware Test and it said everything appeared to be ok.
The iMac is a 17" Intel Core Duo, 1.83 Ghz with 1GB of RAM.
In FCPX 10.1.3 I was able to set in Preferences the Playback Quality to High Quality. I just purchased FCPx 10.1.4. It has NO such High Quality Option for Playback Quality.
Now all my still clips are blurred badly. Is there an option to set a High Quality Playback Option. Or can I download 10.1.3, the level where that worked ?

I just got started in printing coupons from the internet. I had to download a coupon printer for them to print. The problem I've had is that they all print in color and I need them to print in draft mode, black and white. I haven't been able to change that in Safari, even though I changed my prining preferences there. Does anyone have experience doing this that can tell me how to correct it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have spent a lot of time over the last two years trying to get my itunes library organized as well as getting good digitized versions from my vinyl records as well as CDs. I was pleased with my results and then I added the songs to itunes. I could not believe how inconsistent the sound quality was. Invariably the volume is always lower. [Do not post a reply such as: Check the volume controls in itunes proper as well as in itunes preferences (i.e., Sound Check, Sound Enhancer) & the Volume Adjustment in the Information pane under Options for particular songs.] I tried all of those means of adjusting volume. They do NOT work.
There is something more insidious at work in itunes which prevent good sound reproduction. I will give an example. I have played Frankie Valle and the Four Season's song "C'Mon Marianne" on the OS X system sound (i.e. clicking the play button to the song file when selected on the desktop or wherever it resides) as well as in Amadeus Pro. The song sounds great. When I play it when it's in the itunes' library the first part of the song is too lound and then when Frankie Valle starts singing his voice is at a significantly reduced volume.
I have edited the foregoing song in Amadeus Pro to a very high volume (i.e., Effects>Amplify), reloaded it into itunes and it still does not inprove the volume of Frankie's voice in the song, even though the rest of the song is somewhat louder. I have played with the Equalizer in itunes to no effect. It just does not work.
Now, I would glading move away from itunes and use another media player. However, I have other Apple devices through which I listen to music. And the only way I know of to listen,e.g., on the iphone is through itunes.
The other related problem with itune, or should I say iCloud, is icloud match. The icloud Match has taken great sounding music and given me back music of an inferior quality, even though it is a Matched AAC format.

At the moment my setup is as follows:
MacBook acting as a media server with my iTunes library on it
MacBook Air with no content on it
Apple TV (2nd Gen)
At the moment, I've redirected iTunes on my MBA to use the shared folders on my MB for the iTunes library. This works in theory, but actually, it has turned out rather badly - playing video is a nightmare! It keeps stopping and starting, iTunes stops responding, etc, etc. However, I think this is an iTunes issue, as there's no such problems on the Apple TV or if I use QuickTime Player to play the video instead.
So, is there something else I can use on my MBA to "receive" the stream? I don't really care about other bells and whistles (I don't live in the US, so things like Hulu that are built into apps like Boxee aren't much use to me), I just want to be able to play my iTunes content fluidly, but not in iTunes.
After clicking System Preference how do I get SCAN option to appear so documents can be scanned? Currently only the Print option is visible and having no problems with printing. Printer is a HP Laser Jet 300.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I had to re-format my external hard drive so that it could be "recordable" within Pro Tools, which wasn't a major issue, I just had to move everything from my Lacie drive to another drive, do the format, and then throw it all back on. It took a little while but this also included moving my nearly 60gb itunes library. Now that it is on the newly formatted hard drive, itunes doesn't seem to be able to find the majority of the songs any more. I've tried changing the music folder and a few other things, and there is no way I'm going through and doing the "cant find music - click here to find it" palava. Is anyone aware of a way that you can "mass find" all of the music in any way other than starting the library again and adding all the music (I don't really want to lose all of my play counts and ratings if possible!)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can see my messages, but cannot create a new message or reply to any messages. When I try nothing happens, then Mail freezes all together and usually crashes. I was able to get into my Mail settings and everything looks ok as far as I can tell. My software is completely up to date now (unfortunately).

I'm trying to delete those keywords, but of course, I don't want to lose the media associated with them. I tried Control-Click the keyword hoping it would give me the option to delete the keyword but no luck. What else can I try? These are some very big files and a lot of them, so I don't want to screw anything up.

After initial problems loading the driver of the CD I was advised the do a software update on my iMac and to download the latest driver from the Epson site in the U.S. Having done all of that and successfully loaded the software the iMac still cannot find the printer driver when trying to add a printer.
I have previously loaded everything and have printed via usb but have not been unable to print wirelessly. Has anyone any clue as to what I might try?
I can't find the yosemite driver for my new epson r3000 printer. I am using 10.10.1. The Epson website says to find the driver by going to the App store and looking for updates. I did that and didn't find any. In "Printers and Scanners" in System Preferences I notice that the computer is aware that I am connected to the printer (via USB) but a message at the bottom of the window says that "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer..."

If you connect say a 13inch macbook to a 19inch monitor using the closed clamshell mode, will the picture quality on the monitor be like a stretched out version of the 13inch screen? I.e. poor, or does the macbook just act like a desktop computer and allow high quality viewing.

I was reading a thread about Snow Leopard bootup times, and one of the posters said that what with the fast wake up of Macs, shutting down is useless unless an update requires it or you use bootcamp. {URL]. So, my question to you is, do you sleep your computer or shut it down when you finish using it? I've only had mine for a week and personally I shut mine down, but maybe thats a hangover from the Windows part of my life.

I have found many programs such as MrClean that find duplicates of songs but I do not want to accidentally delete the high quality mp3's or flac files. Is there any program that can do this for me? I went on a trip, tried to install Kodak printer driver (no success) and now my printer will not work. It shows in my list but I try to print a document I don't have any printers to select. I have tried:
- removing the software and reinstalling (from website and from CD)
- connecting the printer to my computer
- resetting the printer (under System Preferences, right click, reset printing system)
Error message states 'bad file descriptor'.

I have 2 software updates for my Epson CX5000 all-in-one printer listed in the Software update. The Printer Utility file/folder/software is missing. I have done multiple searches with no success in finding it in my iMac with the newly upgraded OSX Mavericks. It is so difficult to get the software for this printer. Unable to get it from the Epson site. Can get only from Mac Software update. Is there a way to remove the software updates which are the same and start anew? Updates are dated June 19th.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEpson 4800 print perfectly on direct USB connection to MacBook Pro with the 9.17 Epson driver, but when connected to USB port on the Time Capsule, there is red sign and notice that the printer is unconnected. Both the port of the Time Capsule and the cabel are OK, as I print with them to Epson SP R800 without any issue...
Time Capsule is correctly recognised on the local WiFi and set with correct password. USB port is working for other printers correctly. Just the 4800 is not recognised. I tried everything (deleting the printer and reseting all printers too)...

double sided printing on mac. Since I changed to a mac, I havent been able to print double sided from my epson sx425w printer. This can be quite annoying if you a lot of pages to print. The double sided print option is just disabled so I cant even select it and I dont have the option of "Duplexer" or "Duplex Printing" as suggested in other posts. Besides, I've not been able to use my scanner since upgrading to Mavericks-I know others have had similar problems too.
